Increasing circulation and blood flow and oxygenation leading to better focus and energy. Her hands are so incredibly strong and precise. I have had about 8-10 Massages in my life, so not a expert. A Plus Massage is just as the name suggests. The location of the business (inside of a office building) does start the experience off with a odd feeling. I wasn't sure what to expect when I enter the suite. The front desk person was very welcoming and we filled out the normal questionnaires (that every place makes you fill out). This is where the experience was different than most other places I have been. Once we entered the room, my massage therapist went over my questionnaire and asked me what areas I wanted to work on. The reception area is welcoming. I had a 60 min massage. The price was great. But, it was a just ok/bad massage. The person had shaky hands throughout (as in trying too hard for pressure). The silk sheets are cold, I didn't like that. There were also some interesting techniques used (jarring, vigorous to neck area, never had that done before and didn't lo . I don't know if it was inexperience or just a bad massage. They were professional during the entire time though. I just wouldn't go back. 1 Star for massage, 2 total for value and hospitality. They did offer for me to return or get my money refunded which I appreciated. I used a Spa Finder GC which they were unable to refund, but did get a refund on the balance that I paid for. Great massage. I have had massages everywhere from luxury spas in hotels to rub downs in Chinatown. This place ranks with the best. Coming from NYC this is great that I have a place to go relax and get the right treatment near by. First off the place is located in the bldg on the first floor. It threw me off at first cause I wasn't sure if I was in the right spot. The reception was extremely nice on the phone and was able to schedule me on the same day which was great but then again I had the day off from work so anytime would have been good for me. Once arriving I had to fill out a brief questionnaire which the therapist actually looked at and went over with me before the treatment. This place gets 5 stars for cleanliness and decor. It was my first time getting a massage at A Plus, I found them on Yelp actually. My boyfriend and I were looking for a couples massage for a relaxing weekend. On their website we found a special deal for $125 intro couples massage, then on Yelp a deal to buy $75 certificate for a $100 credit. When I called to book it, the staff said they don't offer the intro to couples special anymore but since it was still on the website they honored it! They were able to book us for an appointment that weekend on Saturday. We both had very knowledgeable massage therapists and left feeling loose and peaceful. I'm writing this review as I lay in my bed ready for a nap! Incredibly relaxed! The moment I planned my visit home for the holidays, my best friend and I immediately planned our massage date. We like to use Groupon but with it you don't get to choose your therapist. So upon arrival I was introduced to Faye who took me into the room and went over what I was needing done that day. Because I had already been there I was told I didn't need to fill out paperwork again but was not asked by Faye of any changes in medical history. I didn't have any but this would've been an important question for her to ask. She left the room to allow me to undress and I came to realize how chilly the room was, the bed just having been warmed up moments ago, Faye's cold hands when she got started and cold oil/lotion. I let her know immediately and she explained it was because she didn't get around to warming them. That was a bit confusing as I was a couple minutes late to arrive so she had the time to do so. She massaged well but unfortunately I wasn't relaxed and couldn't enjoy it. Rather tense because it would be a guessing game of where her cold hands would go next! Fast forward I leave a message with reception to ask Sharon to give me a call since I wanted to discuss this experience. She calls me promptly and I explain that my massage was not of the caliber I have come to expect from A Plus. She offers a massage with her. And that leads me to the start of this review. I fell asleep immediately after I got home. This is my 2nd visit. First time was a 30 min chair massage. It took care of my knots that I decided to go back for a 1 hour massage this time. Gina was my massage therapist. Amazing! So relaxing! Traveling for work (cramped planes) and working on computers, I had knots on my neck, shoulder, and back. Gina was able to get rid of about 80% in one session. Long overdue but Raisa was amazing! I suffer from scoliosis and have constant muscle tightness and knots on this very specific spot on my back. All the massage therapists at my chiropractor's are very weak and not as strong as Raisa. They also never massage where I point out to. It feels like they're just rubbing my skin, so I get frustrated. Raisa does it right! She listens to you when you tell her where it's bothering you. Got a prenatal massage last week. It was supposed to be 60 minute and I arrived 20 minutes early. The massage therapist was late and we started 10 min past my scheduled appointment and she ended it early due to her next appointment so in totally it was a 40 min massage. I do NOT recommend this place if you're looking for a more professional and spa like environment! This place is outdated and so was the massage... Not sure exactly what I paid for. The massage was subpar and it didn't help at all that Carole talked the whole time, which made it hard to relax and enjoy a massage.... I've been to countless massage therapy studios and this massage was, by far, the best I have ever had. What sets A+ apart from other studios is the details - music selection (I got to listen to Michael Jackson and Prince during my massage!), essential oils, and VERY client-centered therapy (Sharon continually checked in throughout the massage to ensure I was ok with the pressure and see if I needed any areas worked on more thoroughly).
