I only wanted to eat at Angelina if I could avoid the long lines they're known for. Upon realizing the famed tea room & patisserie had a Versailles location, I decided to try my luck while visiting the chateau. Though there were half a dozen parties ahead of my group, the line monitor assured us we'd be seated shortly, & within 10-15 minutes, we were led to one of their dining rooms. We shared: -- Croque Monsieur (18,50 €): packed a lot of béchamel richness in its small size. -- Salade Caesar (23,50 €): high-quality chicken, perfectly dressed greens. -- Quiche au Chèvre et Tomate (17 €): classic combination of creamy, tangy goat cheese & tomato. -- Mont Blanc (10,50 €): chestnut puree piped like vermicelli strands over whipped cream & meringue. Unique, not overly sweet, & a wonderful introduction to chestnut puree! -- Tourbillon Framboise (11 €): a delicate macaron tower of raspberries & white chocolate ganache. Take away option is also available for a shorter wait time, but we relished taking a break at the restaurant between touring the apartments & the gardens.

Offshoot of the celebrated patisserie in the Versailles palace. We ate in the restaurant though there is takeaway available. We ate sandwiches and pastries in addition to hot chocolate. You order first and then get seated. It's not a cheap meal but it's a vibe to drink some luxurious hot chocolate in a palace. They were out of the veggie sandwiches when we ordered but they were apologetic and the woman helping us was super sweet.

Le Parisien petite déjeuner pour deux

This is the absolute most Parisian thing to do really. Go to Versailles, eat at Le Cafe de Angeline and drink le chocolate chaud. I mean So cliché right?! Well I totally fumbled. I should have ordered " deux Parisian petite déjeuner avec chocolate chaud puit après le petite déjeuner deux café s'il vous plaît. " but no I ordered it with cafe au lait. So I bought trois bouteille au chocolaté chaud pour le maison. Anyway this is another location with excellent service and ambiance. They truly do appreciate when we at least try to speak the language. If this is something you wish to do this is a must have for any trip to Paris!! DO NOT MISS IT!

This location in the palace delivers prepared foods, cafe, pastries, and chocolate consistent with the other locations. The service here was very fast and efficient. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. The cafè provided a much needed "pick me up" to get us through the morning. Stop by and give them a try. There are two lines upon entering, ordering from the full menu to the left and only ordering cafe, juice, sandwiches, and pastries to the right. When ordering from the cafe, there are a few rooms down the hallway to sit and enjoy (not just the room to your immediate right of the ordering counter). Have a seat, rest your legs, and enjoy your cafe!

Chocolate Hot!

Angelina was a surprisingly great dining option inside the Palace of Versailles. Just a quick pro tip: if you decide to eat here at the start of your tour, the way the flow is set up will actually place you at the end of the exhibit. Once you leave the restaurant and follow the path, you'll be kicked out of the palace within a minute. If that happens, you'll need to backtrack to rejoin the tour--kind of annoying, but manageable if you know ahead of time. Now onto the food. I ordered the raviolis, and they were surprisingly filling. Others in my group went with the quiche, which came out as a huge portion--definitely a satisfying lunch. The real star of the show was the famous hot chocolate. It's not just hot cocoa--it's essentially melted chocolate in a cup. Incredibly rich and dessert-like. If you're sharing, consider asking for an extra cup because it's that intense--but absolutely worth trying. All in all, Angelina is a great stop for a meal or sweet treat while exploring Versailles.

Parisian breakfast

We stopped here for a late breakfast while visiting Versailles. My husband had the French breakfast which was very filling it included their famous hot chocolate which was amazing and their fresh orange juice which was out of the world tasty. I had the goat cheese and spinach quiche with salad and it was delicious. The quiche was so light and fluffy. They also had wonderful looking pastry you could order unfortunately we were stuffed. The service was great our waiter sat us by the window and was very helpful. Definitely recommend stopping here. They also have a cafe if you just want to have a quick bit and not a full sit down meal.

This was one of my favorite restaurants during my trip to Paris. I got chicken supreme (Suprême de volaille aux morilles) with mashed potatoes. I recommend the Mushroom Ravioli with Summer Truffle (Ravioli aux champignons) since I tried some of my bf's dish. We both agreed this was the best pasta we had in our entire trip. The sauce of the ravioli is what impressed us as it had this amazing taste which I think is called the Grana Padano cream. I am referencing the picture of the menu I attached in this review to find the items were ordered. I highly recommend trying out the pasta here. The wine was amazing as well, we got red wine which I do not remember which one it was exactly. I just know you pair this wine with chicken, and it was strong in a good way! They also have a great selection of pastries.

Well, this review is for the sandwich bar and not for the restaurant on our visit for.palacw versailles. There was a long line to get ourselves in for lunchtime, so we opted for the sandwich bar. Even the sandwich bar had a long line, and by the time we were ready to order, most of the vegetable sandwiches ran out. We ordered italian pasta, desert, and sandwich mozzarella tomato. Italian pasta was good, but the sandwich was very mediocre. The desert was wonderful. High prices ok food. The staff is friendly. There are places to sit and eat. There are restrooms closer by.

You can say you dined in a royal castle. More like the crowded back room for servants with no view or fanciful decor. Not recommended ~ just waiting in line during peak lunch could take over an hour...which we did. The relief of finally being seated will be forgotten waiting to be served. Then it is the wait for your lunch order. Then it is the disappointment of the mediocre meal. Not fulfilling the Angelina reputation of the other location(s), but alas, a moment to handle a fork in a historical chateau.

Parisian with double filling

Expected snacks Angelina was a busy place when we arrived with a line leading to a point where it was split into two, one for the restaurant and one for grabbing drinks and sandwiches. From that snack side, I got two ham and cheese sandwiches called Parisian, and some lemonade. I expected my sandwiches would be a lot of bread and not much filling, and they were, so I added the filling from one to the other and just ate that one. The tough bread made eating slow, as tourists we were in a hurry to continue our visit, so eating one sandwich was a good idea. Our wait for the snack side was about 20 or 30 minutes, the restaurant was much longer. They have a couple of rooms where you can sit to eat, we got lucky and got a table in the first room. In fact, I left the line and grabbed the table, so I didn't actually interact with the food distributor and cashier. I do know the sandwiches were brought out in batches from the back, I don't know if they were just made or made much earlier. Likely doesn't matter.

Arrived to the Chateau Versailles and in need of some food. While in search for a place to eat, saw Angelina. This place was on my to try list, so why mot try it here. Short wait to be seated - options for snacking (choose your items at the counter then find seating) or restaurant (sit down service). We opted for the restaurant. The menu is a QR code but they have paper menus if asked. Wanted the Parisian Breakfast but was told it was too late to be ordered. Noticed many others also tried to order as well. Might be a good idea to note the times on the menu since so many were ordering it just to be told it was unavailable. Ended up ordering the ravioli - didn't really have a lot of flavor. Hubs ordered the club sandwich - it was tasty. Had to order the hot chocolate. At €8.50 per cup, not worth it. It was ok. Glad to have tried it, but for me it was pricey for what you get. Should've gone through the smacking line instead as there were less expensive items to order.

Napoleon

As one of the only cafes inside Versailles, the wait was fairly long. Once you do get inside though it is rather nice. I tried the Napoleon, which was so delicious. We also had the famous hot chocolate, which was a bit too bitter and thick for us (blame the American tastebuds...). It's a good stop if you need a break from touring the palace, but overall it was overpriced and nothing special.

"The" hot chocolate.
Benjamin R.

I got exactly what I was expecting with this visit: good food, bad service, average ambiance. It took approximately 30 minutes of standing in line to be sat, the service was incredibly slow and we kept having to ask for water to be refilled. The ambiance was surprisingly loud given the posh intention of the dining rooms, it is interesting to be sat where royals once entertained guests, but it wasn't worth the steep cost of simple items such as the $25 avocado toast and $13 hot chocolate. On that note, the hot chocolate that hits the top 3 best in the world on many TikTok lists was good. Like very good. It's not the kind of drink you can have every day, the sweetness had to be offset with 3 or 4 full glasses of water, but all in all the food experience was on point.

We did not realize that we could not dine in until we arrived, which was unfortunate because it was beginning to rain, but that did not dampen our experience. When we walked in, we were the only customers in the establishment, so we took our time deciding (and translating) menu items. The place VERY quickly filled up and we ended up waiting in line while we were deciding. We ended up just grabbing a couple of sandwiches on the run that turned out to be delicious. There was a bit of a language barrier, but as we were the visitors, we made due and had a great experience.

When I used to live in Versailles, it was my FAVORITE Boulangerie Patisserie…read more Located Rue de La Paroisse just few step away from The Famous and Beautiful Farmer Market of Versailles "le carre du marche de Versailles" The Boulangerie itself is Elegante with the Marble and the Mosaic, very Versailles. On Sundays the line to get the baguette is out on the street. Variety of breads, "Plats prepares" from quiches (so many option), salade maison, saumon a l'oseille, amazing, tasty and just delicious patries. Their croissants, chausson aux pommes, croissants aux amandes are to die for. On week-ends the pastries are always warm because of the orders flow, pastries don't have time to be displayed too long :-) For Christmas they have a large selection of breads, I will recommend to order it couple days prior so you can just pick it up on the D day. For some French occasion like 1- "la Fetes des Rois" they have the famous "Galette des Rois" with a little "collector feve inside" and a gold crown. Younger i used to collect them whoever get the feve, get the crown !! the Galette is made of almond cream in a puff crust. 2- "Buches de Noel" for christmas and New Year. They offer the open of cake Buche or iced Buche. Their buche (cake's one) is not too heavy creamy, I enjoy the Grand Marnier one or the Fruits one. 3- Easter, the pastry Chef always designs the cholocate Easter egg, they also do the "friture" those small chocolate of fish, turtle, schrimp in white chocolate, milk chocolate, dark chocolate or orange chocolate. Almost forgot about the easter liquor egg. Just had a flashback of my childhood All their products are really fresh and healthy (You are in France LOL) The staff is sometime overwhelm by the crowd but I never experienced anything "funny", just keep in mind french people are grumpy ah ah ah If you like to try a real french boulangerie and pastries in Versailles, Maison Julien Boulangerie Patisserie is the place to go!
