Service was excellent and super helpful. The space was beautiful. The decor and ambiance absolutely live up to the hype and more. The ambiance and history alone are a good enough reason to visit. I came here for the history and how iconic Angelina's is. It opened in 1903 as the original location, and Coco Chanel was a regular. The claim is the recipe for their hot chocolate, a blend of cocoa from Africa that is a guarded trade secret, hasn't changed too much since they first opened. I definitely built this place up in my head. However, the drink they are famous for, Angelina's L'Africain, was a disappointment. The texture came across slightly powdery, like the cocoa wasn't fully blended. It felt heavy, like melted chocolate. I love a heavy hot chocolate, so the richness itself was never an issue. The problem was the taste. The chocolate didn't come across as high quality at all. The dealbreakers were the slightly powdery texture and the chocolate quality, which just didn't live up to the hype. I've had hot chocolate in Paris that was way better. Considering I stayed in line for over an hour and traveled to a different part of Paris for this drink, I'm disappointed. Sometimes I wonder if I just had a bad batch of this drink...

Best hot chocolate I've ever had. The salmon club was so refreshing and tasty. And the ravioli du Dauphine was so cheesy and delicious. The servers were so nice but I'm not gonna lie, the ambiance is nothing spectacular. The food makes up for the ambiance though. We will definitely be coming back!

While visiting Paris we stopped at Angelina's for their famous hot chocolate among other delights. The food experience is not to be missed. Service was excellent and the ambiance is like taking a step back in time.

This place is way overrated. We went to the one across from Jardin tulieres. We were sat immediately upstairs in a dingy, musty, corner. We got the hot chocolate and iconic mont Blanc. They were just ok and my son got an eclair. Nothing was exceptional and if you have a choice or are torn, I would try the other choice. We just felt disappointed after this stop. Nothing was awful, but everything was medicore.

Angelina Paris has hands down, the best hot chocolate! I have to get it everything time I've been to Paris, and I've been 5 times! The tea room inside is nice but service can be pretty slow. The tea service is okay but I wouldn't get it again. The storefront also has pastries and desserts on display that are not too sweet and great for takeaway! If you want to try Angelina's, I'd opt to grab some hot chocolate from their cart right outside instead of sitting down in the dining room, especially since there's always a long line with a long wait time!

It's been a long time goal of mine to go to the original Angelina, where Coco Chanel was a regular! It didn't disappoint. I got the brunch set menu with eggs, the iconic hot coco, juice, and chocolate croissants and baguette with jam and butter. It was all divine. And the location? Short walk from the Louvre and just romantic and feminine interiors. It was classy. We were advised to go in line before opening. We arrived 5 till opening and there was already a short line. Once they opened the doors were were seated right away. The hot chocolate is like what I think is considered European sipping chocolate? This is not your Swiss Miss. It was rich and thick. They poured from a carafe and left the rest of it on the table so we could pour more later! And then a bowl of whipped cream. It was dreamy. Loved it. I wanna go back.

What am amazing experience! We thoroughly enjoyed Angelina's tea sampler with five savory treats and five sweet desserts. Each one was both a feast for the eyes as well as exquisitely tasty. Dining in the grande salon was as romantic as can be and the service was professional and very attentive. Truly a perfect dining experience!

Crepe and French toast

No wait on a Sunday morning around 8:45am. Some seats are a bit tight inside. Ordered the hot chocolate, crepe, and French toast. Hot chocolate is good, especially with the whipped cream. The crepe could have been better and was a bit too sweet. The French toast was toasted well and was soft yet slightly crispy on the edges. I would not really wait in line for this though, as it is just regular breakfast and hot chocolate. Perhaps if you really had time and were craving that sort of sweets. It is on the expensive side too. The indoor dining area is pretty nice, but doesn't quite justify the wait (along with the food). I'd say this is a try once type of restaurant.

Wonderful place! The decor is so nice. The sweets were delicious. The hot chocolate here lives up to the hype! It was so flavorful without being too sweet. The famous Mont-blanc dessert was delicious. This place is definitely busy but we were able to get in during the afternoon. Would recommend!

Angelina was on my list to visit and knew it would be busy, there was a line to get in but was worth waiting for. The gorgeous display of each delectable dessert presented in each plate made my mouth water. We decided to also eat brunch and ordered my staple of eggs Benedict, the eggs paired well with the avocado and was perfect French breakfast to start the day. The chocolate crepes were amazing, light batter and not heavy. We tried both the hit and cold Famous French chocolate and really enjoyed the cold chocolate as it was a hot day. The interior of the restaurant was everything I imagined but was a bit crowded and loud. Definitely arrive earlier in morning, we were there mid morning. Purchased the French hot chocolate to make at home. We would love to dine again!

What a beautiful cafe!! As soon as you walk in you're greeted with a small shop and then a set of stairs. The cafe is big and can seat larger parties. They have a wonderful selection of baked goods, breakfast, tea style selection of sandwiches and of course their well known hot chocolate. The day we went it was pretty warm but we still opted for it. The hot chocolate is rich and pairs nicely with a buttery croissant ! I got the omelet with a side of cafe au lait and orange juice. The omelet was so soft and buttery and paired beautifully with the fresh squeezed orange juice. The small side salad was an excellent touch of freshness. I also got to try my friends breakfast sandwich, eggs Benedict and the Mont Blanc. Everything was so delicious. The service was a bit slow so if you're in a time crunch, be sure to order and request for the bill in advance. I also recommend either going first thing in the morning or soon after the breakfast rush.

Went to Notre-Dame and experienced such a religious place but went to Angelina and found Heaven~ The Hot Chocolate alone is worth every mile to Paris. Make sure to get a croissant to dip in your hot chocolate. Your life will forever be changed. The service was great and the Ambiance, impeccable. Just what was needed to star the morning off in before a day of shopping in the area. Really a must. Tip: if you don't have time to wait for a table, walk straight past the line open doors and on the right there is a beautiful counter of take with you options along with the Hot Chocolate. Then head across the street to the park to enjoy.

When I go to Paris, Angelina's hot chocolate is a must have! is an old world tea room that opened in 1903. The building is beautiful inside with all of the charming character from an earlier time. We did take away because the line to get in was long. I really went for the hot chocolate which is decadent. It is so rich and chocolatey. We also had a chocolate chip cookie that was delicious the pieces of chocolate in the cookie was some of the best chocolate I ever had. The staff is professional and helpful. We took our hot chocolate across the street to the Jardin de Tuileries right across the street.

Best chocolate!!

The food was very good, the servers were nice. The seating was tiny downstairs but looks like they had more space upstairs.

Continuing my search for the perfect baguette ... we stopped in here because everything looked so…read moregood. I did get a couple yummy desserts and a baguette. Sadly, the baguette was kind of mushy and not crispy. I did not enjoy the flavor compared to the other ones I've had in the neighborhood. I really wanted to love it... since I noticed several people walking down the street eating a baguette from here with the Merci Jerome bag in hand. Frankly, it was not my favorite and I ditched it after only one bite.

The croque monsieur had a generous pile of gruyère melted on the sides of the bread with a proportional amount of meat and filling on the inside. With the croque monsieur warmed up, it made a perfect brunch meal with the ube latte. The ube latte is exactly what you would expect but crafted carefully. I would just go back for this delightfully warm concoction in the morning. The service to go along with this made this experience more pleasant as it seems most of the employees were filipinos. They were quick to receive you and leave you beyond satisfied. The shop exudes the classic parisian aesthetic that most people would romanticize and I am glad I experienced it. I would come back for the pleasant experience - try out Merci Jérôme!

I had just finished my time at the Eiffel tower and walked over to this restaurant for a drink and a snack. I was seated immediately, waiting for the rest of my party. The staff were incredibly patient, allowing me to stay for the fifteen-ish minutes it took for my family to arrive. We, of course, ordered the hot chocolate topped with cream. It was incredibly rich, which was the draw. It was required that we each ordered our own teapot, which provided about two and a half cups of hot chocolate. This was a bit excessive, as the drink was heavy and I could only stomach a cup. I did wish the restaurant allowed us to split the pot amongst our table. Nonetheless, I enjoy dining at Carette and returned on my second Paris trip with my husband. Anyone visiting for the first time should try their thick hot chocolate at least once.

The menu is all French and limited English by the servers but it's easy enough to navigate. We came with 5 for Sunday brunch and sat right away but one had to sort of share space at the table. We ordered mixes of omelettes and Benedicts. All came with nice small whole potatoes and a little sour cream. You can modify or add quite a bit. Eggs are your choice of style ultimately and apparently the brunch includes pancakes. We were confused by that and they come after you've eaten the other items. I'm not sure if we paid for that or not but we chose to move on without. It came with your choice of tea or coffee AND a small orange juice. The eggs were cooked very delicately and moist with cheese and good meat in the omelette. Overall it was a fine breakfast compared to croissants and coffee but a little expensive.
