Fabulous customer service! We came after closing and owner came outside and welcomed us in. I ordered the chili verde and my husband ordered the number "21" a combo plate he created. There was mild and hot salsa brought to us (I love when I don't have to ask for the hot stuff). Our food and conservation with the owner was great. My boyfriend and I come here when we're craving Mexican food. We have been on a quest for good Mexican food for over a year now and this place is the best we've found so far. The prices aren't bad and you get more than enough food per plate. We try something new every time and have liked everything we've tried so far! The environment is very relaxed so if you're looking for a fast paced environment with speedy service, you might be disappointed but we've never had an issue. We were in town for valentines day and I wanted Mexican food so I looked it up and Angela's has the best reviews and the pictures people post of their food are mouthwatering !!!!! The beans taste so good and are homeade the Chile relleno is the bomb and so is chimichanga with shredded beef ! The customer service is amazing and so friendly !!!!!! Yesterday we bought a coupon for food at Angela's during the "Wounded Warriors" charity car show. The food was excellent!! We will be driving back to Lompoc again to eat there. The Shriners were there too having an important meeting concerning their children's hospital. The Shriners know good food and good people, so they too chose Angela's. The food and service were excellent even though they had the big event going in the banquet room. The owner's son is currently in the Army. Such nice people and truly great food!! Went to go and eat at Angela's. I was told the food was real good we got there and we were told to sit where ever we liked. Right away waitress came to our table with menus and chips and salsa very nice lady. She checked on every 5 minutes and even refilled our chips and salsa as she brought our drinks. Well 2nd visit to this fine establishment. The wife tried the Chicken Mole, she said just a little bit more of Chocolate, and it would of been perfect.. I had the shrimp, and substituted a green sauce for the red( not a red sauce fan). They were more than happy to make the substitution. Several people back home had recommended this place so I thought I would give it a try. I had their "Colorado" platter which came with a side salad and corn tortillas. 1) Chips and salsa: The chips were very ordinary and not even warmed like many places. The salsa was spicy but that's about all it had going for it. Not impressed. 2) The Side salad consisted of lettuce and two or three small shreds or purple cabbage with a large dollop of dressing on top. I don't even consider that a salad. 3) The platter itself consisted of refried beans, rice and beef cubes in a red sauce. The beans and rice were average and the meat while tender was again nothing to write home about. The service at least was friendly. I had intended to order dessert but after the very mundane rest of the meal decided to skip it. Next time I'm in Lompoc I'll check out some of the other Mexican places instead. read more

AN ABSOLUTELY MORTIFYING EXPERIENCE!!! My daughter and I went there for lunch. Our table was dirty but quickly wiped clean. The menus were falling apart, which was not a problem for us but there were filthy, dried beans and crusty sauce on them. We flipped thru the menu very carefully. We should have left then but we were very hungry and wanted to give the restaurant the benefit of the doubt. That was a HUGE MISTAKE! We sat at the table talking and laughing about a movie we had just seen. The waitress, who was very nice served us chips and 2 kinds of salsa, one mild and one hot. They were both almost inedible! I ordered the carnitas plate and my daughter ordered a combo plate with a beef tamale, an enchilada and a taco. The plate included a salad too. The salad should have been called lettuce with dressing because that's all it was. When our food came it looked very good. That was deceiving! The beans were good. The rice was partially under cooked or had been sitting out for a while. The carnitas meat was reeeeeely dry. The tamale on my daughter's plate was disgusting! The maza was dry, crumbly and tasteless, the meat was....I don't even know what it was. The beef in her enchilada tasted like it had been frozen because it had a watery taste to it. The sauce on top of everything looked like plastic food kids buy at WalMart. The waitress asked if everything was ok. I nodding yes because I had food in my mouth and mine was just OK. My daughter told the waitress that she liked the beans and rice but not the other items. Instead of accommodating or even asking if there is something else you would like the waitress says "well you ate a lot of it." Actually, she picked through the food trying to identify everything. I asked for a box to put my carnitas in. I figured I could chop it up and give it to my dogs but I didn't tell the waitress that because she was seemed very sweet and I didn't want to hurt her feelings. The box was set on the table with an attitude but it wasn't our waitress! We ignored the behavior and continued our conversation. We got up to pay the check which included a tip. The cashier, who look pissed off about something took my card. When she gave it back to me, boy was I taken for a loop!! She said, "I don't appreciate you disrespecting my mother!" WTH? "Wait, what did you say"? She repeated herself. I couldn't believe my ears. I asked, "who are you, and who is your mother?" She pointed to our waitress! I asked the cashier how were we disrespectful to her mother. She said, "you didn't like my mother's food, you were talking about her and you were laughing at her." My series of questions were then...what did we say about your mother? Why were we laughing at her? Where were you, because this is the first time we've seen you? What did you hear us say about her? So it is your job as a cashier to insult and accuse customers? All she said was my mother works very hard and you didn't like her food. Now the mother, who I found out is the owner Alma, is standing next to the cashier,(her daughter) whose name is Angela. I explained what happened at the table and told Angela that we were not going to lie and say the food was good when it wasn't. The discussion became extremely heated in front of customers and staff. I asked Alma to step outside so we can talk calmly without causing an even bigger scene in front of everyone. She agreed. She admitted that her English was not very good. My question was "why would you tell your daughter that we were laughing and talking about you, especially if your English is not good?" Believe or not this is the short version of what happened! Bottom line is if you go to Angela's you had better like the food or fake it because if you don't Alma will sic her daughter Angela on you!!! I wish I could give them a half star rating! If you want excellent Mexican food and great service go to Burrito Loco by Albertson's. They are known for the best salsa in town too. read more

The food here is really good. But Angela leaves her young daughter sitting at a booth all night while she cries for her mom to give her some attention. Her cries go unheard and she is just miserable. My fiancée and I stopped in here because other reviews have said the food is really good, but the place was so dirty we left before ordering. We came in and were told to sit anywhere we liked, that's fine, but it took us three tries to find a table that wasn't coated in bits of food. I don't mean "hasn't been cleaned since the last patrons," I mean "bits of tomato and cilantro and who knows what else rubbed into the cracks and left there for who knows how long." The table we finally sat at was sticky, but we sat anyway because it was the least sticky. When we opened the menus my fiancee's was coated in chunks of what looked like salsa. The last straw was when the drinks came and my water tasted of soap, as if it hadn't been rinsed after washing. At that point I knew I wouldn't be able to make myself eat anything served there so we tucked a couple bucks under a cup (to cover the soda we'd gotten) and just left. read more
