I've ordered from Angela's through GrubHub twice as they have a big menu, are open late, don't cost a fortune, and deliver pretty quickly. Both times I ordered the veggie California style burrito and the chips and guac, although the first time I ordered I just got a regular veggie burrito. I thought the California style was interesting because they have fries?! On the burritos?! I don't know if that's actually California style but it did make for an interesting bite. I also thought the chips and guac were delicious. The portions are pretty large, and the burritos hold up well overnight in the fridge. Overall, it's a great late night treat. read more

Amazing burritos, super huge and cheap. Very generous with the fillings, I appreciate. Great flavor throughout, plus it doesn't get soggy! I recommend the chicken burrito. If you add rice, they put a lot of rice in there, but there's still a lot of meat. I love this place. I went to Galway Arms tonight because I like the live Irish music and my roommate is out of town and I work from home all day and felt restless. The Irish music was great and I think I might muster the courage to accompany the talented musicians there next Tuesday; stay tuned. Anyway, I usually try not to eat past 10 bc of the whole "intermittent fasting" phenomenon. But I usually blow it. Tonight was no exception. Left the Arms, walked into Franks and placed a pick up order. Left Frank's to pick up said order. As one must do. They were making my order when I walked in. I was a bit early so no big deal. I think I usually get the steak or beef when I get the California style burrito but today I got the marinated pork. SO glad I did. 10/10. Totally full/satisfied but not in a bad way. Every time I've come here I end up getting the California style steak burrito! It's delicious. The burritos come in two sizes (junior or grande ). The grande is significantly larger than the junior and just a dollar or two more. But I usually get the junior because I can't finish the grande in one sitting and the burrito tastes best fresh and warm. It is more expensive than chipotle. There is some indoor seating if you would like to dine-in but I feel like the majority order carry-out. I would recommend this place! read more

Prefacing this review by saying that I don't think I've ever had Angela's while sober, BUT that doesn't mean it's not a fantastic little spot. My bf and I always split the jumbo California burrito with chicken after a night out and it never disappoints. The meat is quality and the ingredients are fresh. Great place if you want to hit the restroom 1/3 of the way through your burrito. Avoid What was supposed to be a causal lunch with my son turned into a literal Sh*t show. Couldn't make it more then 1/3 of the way through the chicken burrito without a visit to the restroom. While not causing violent reactions, the chicken tacos were flavorless and forgettable. Oddly, they included sliced tomatoes and not the diced tomatoes you normally add to tacos. With soon many choices in the area, avoid at all costs. read more

In the last year I've lived in the area, I've ordered both pick-up and delivery from Angela's several times. I was a little confused at first by the name, "Burrito Style," instead of just, like, "Angela's Burrito," but you know what? They've got some charm in that confusing name! And I LOVE ANGELA'S! For the most part, I usually order a shrimp burrito, because that's one of my favorite meals. But there's something remarkable about Angela's: Whenever I order pick-up, it is always ready much quicker than expected. Not only is it ready very quickly, but it also tastes amazing, is cooked properly, and it's always easy to tell that it was made with love. Most recently, I did something different and ordered not only a steak taco bowl instead of a burrito, but I got it delivered instead of picking it up. And you know what? Angela's still followed through with their amazingness. That taco bowl was delicious (I nearly inhaled it, which is a common theme among meals I love), it was presented beautifully (which is always mind-blowing to me when it comes to delivery, because it was literally placed in a back and dragged down the road... okay, maybe not LITERALLY dragged on the pavement), and really didn't cost too much (both my boyfriend and I ordered bowls, and the total before tip was about $14). Angela's has some of the best tacos in Chicago. Period! This review is only for the tacos. I love them so much that I have never moved on to any other menu item. Hahaha. One time I did get a quesadilla and that was pretty delicious too. Service is always pleasant and food is done fast. I've never had a bad experience here at any time of day. Whether you're drunk or sober, you will love their food. All of the meats are cooked fresh so you get that nice grilled taste. I like the carne asada (steak) the best. They also offer shrimp and fish tacos. The corn tortillas are perfectly soft yet slightly crispy. Order them the "mexican way" with only onions and cilantro. Once in while I will add sour cream or cheese, but plain old onions and cilantro is my favorite. This way I really get to savor the freshness of the meat and the sauce. And the sauces! I a such a fan that I asked Guerzo, the owner, for the secret behind the delicious sauce. He told me that he uses only the freshest ingredients and he blends them together each day. Apparently many other Mexican restaurants boil their peppers before they blend in order to make more sauce with less peppers and also to extend their shelf life, but he doesn't do this. His grandmother taught him how to make the sauce and he has never changed it since. How can you not love that?! And for the red sauce he actually roasts the tomatillos before blending them with the other ingredients and that roasted flavor really comes through. If nothing else in this review entices you, at least go for the sauce. I would like to deduct a half star for their horchata if it was possible (not flavorful enough and too much cinnamon) and the bathroom (not the best) but for the food it's definitely a 5! read more

I only had to go to Chicago from Indianapolis to get a good California Burrito. Moving away from my hometown of San Diego in 2011, meant moving away from good Mexican food...and family and friends too, of course. Throughout my journey, I've sought out and come across many interpretations of the California Burrito. Some with lettuce, beans, and rice. Some with potato chunks. Some with pico de gallo. All of the above would be considered pretty heinous in a true California Burrito. Seasoned carne asada, semi-crispy french fries, a good tortilla, and a congealed mass of cheese, guac, and sour cream make the iconic burrito. That's what I found here at Angela's Burrito Style in what they call a "California Style Burrito." Enough about my west-coast-inspired spiel. Angela's is a small hole in the wall. We got there around 11AM and nobody else was there. Street parking is $2 per hour. Their restroom is old, but clean. The workers were nice. And both the red and green salsas are great.
