Even though it was just over an hour to closing, and there were only two people working at the time, they were able to take me as a walk-in for a regular pedi and no-chip mani. It was your standard clean nail place, and I have no complaints other than it was kinda hot in there that particular day. Tbh, I might actually like Honey Bee better than the place I usually go because pricing is more transparent (and comparable), and I can schedule online, which is something I can't do at my usual place but, as an introvert, something I always wished I could do. I feel like there might be less polish options than other places here, but I get overwhelmed with too many options anyway, so that wasn't really a negative for me. They had OPI, and that's all I needed. I got just a plain no-chip with a party nail, short and square, but from the looks of other photos, it appears they can do some pretty intricate designs as well. I was too nervous to ask for it this time, but I might want to look into that more in the future. Additional points for being close to Target, PetCo, and Jewel, so I can get all my errands completed in one day. I'm pretty sure I'll be back, maybe even as a regular. The straw that makes me never want to go back is they said they could take me when I went to do a walk in but then they ran out of time because I had gel nail polish that needed to be removed so they asked me to come back. Normally I wouldn't care and understand but they charged me $30 to remove the gel since it wasn't being done with a service. Very irritating.

I was a walk in appointment, and they told me to come back in 40 minutes. Totally understandable, so I did. When I returned, I checked in and then I sat there waiting for another 10 minutes before another woman walked in and said she also had a 6:00 appointment. The staff then told a client whose nails they were already working on that they couldn't continue her design because the woman who had just arrived had an appointment. After hearing that conversation...and knowing I had already been waiting over 20 minutes myself...I spoke up and said that I also had a 6:00 appointment. The other woman left because she was understandably frustrated, and then the staff proceeded to ignore me. I get it if they are busy, but the fact that there was no communication between any one of their employees or me was ridiculous. I finally asked how much longer they think it would be. They said they were finishing a design. (Even though they were about to stop the design to work on the nails of the woman that came in 10 minutes after me) I asked again, and they told me about 20 more minutes. So I was told to wait 40 minutes before coming back, then waited another 20 minutes after I arrived, only to be told to wait an additional 20 minutes. That's completely unacceptable and incredibly disrespectful of customers' time. Absolutely ridiculous. I will never be coming here again.

They take their time, really listen to what you want, and offer great suggestions and tips to help bring your inspiration picture to life. The salon is clean, they use organic products, and they have a great selection of current brands and colors in both dip and gel. For my set, she actually combined both options, which turned out beautifully. I also love how well my nails grow out between appointments--they continue to look good as they grow. The attention to detail really makes a difference. I had previously tried another popular salon in Glen Ellyn, and unfortunately, even a basic French manicure there was subpar compared with the quality I consistently get here.
