This is my 2nd nail visit I've had in a year. Only because what else am I doing, and who am I seeing? Yah, really, no one. Well those days are over and Moma needs to get her feet right. This was my first time visiting this nail salon and Michelle was my tech. She was amazing! I felt so comfortable, so relaxed, not rushed, she was not only gentle but also unphased by my leg hair, which I was totally mortified about. It felt so nice to get pampered and my nails look really great! I felt emotional sitting there with someone rubbing my feet and hairy legs, so I made a follow up appointment with her. I found this place looking for nail salons near me in Wood Dale. The minute I walked in I felt welcomed. Kathy did my nails and they look fantastic. I got a French manicure. The conversation was great. Doreen who greeted me was friendly, explained the check in procedure thoroughly. I will definitely be going back. Just an FYI you can pay for your services using your debit or credit card. But they do require you to pay cash for any tips. I also love that they link your name phone number and form a payment together. And when you check in or pay for services you get points for every dollar you spend and you don't have to carry a card with you or anything. It's all automated which I totally loved. read more

Since it's been under new management quality of nail care is great. I've came here 3x in the past year and keep forgetting to write a review. Each time I've been here I've goin to a new person. They were all great. They were very detailed in getting all of the cuticle and the shaping of the nails were decent. I usually have a nail thats alway different from the rest and I seem to only notice it after I leave. But I am sure if you noticed it and pointed out to them they would not have an issue in fixing it. I would recommend them to having their table cleaned and cleared prior to getting the client. Lovely Nails was recommended by many members of my Addison eGroup Facebook community. Amy, the owner and Bom were specifically recommended. Amy was not available today so Bom did my fill in and I was not disappointed! Bom was friendly, professional and actually took the time to ask me what I wanted which I so appreciated! I relocated to Addison on July 4, 2018 and tried two other salons which were sub par so I have been driving an hour one way to my former salon. It is so hard to find a nail tech who you really like. I would say just as hard as finding a good hairdresser and Bom did not disappoint! The salon itself is very clean and has a cute layout. I used to really enjoy Lovely Nails. All of the nail techs do a good job in a timely fashion. It had been awhile since I had been so decided to go back. Unfortunately, it will be the last time. My nail tech did a nice job but she charged me $35 which at the time I didn't think anything of. However, it wasn't until I got in my car that I saw the sign on THE WINDOW that says $30 for no chip manicures. Who knows how often they pull this with customers. It is probably due to their silly policy of only accepting cash tips (sketch) but whatever the case I will not be going back. I suggest Happy Nails in Bensenville or Holiday Nails in Elmhurst. Both places have fair pricing, do a good job, and they actually charge what is listed! Very unhappy about this and will let my friends know not to go to Lovely Nails either. read more

I have lived in Addison for 8 years and frequent this place when it's inconvenient for me to head to my usual place. I've finally decided that I've had enough, close or not, I will never go back. My technician was clearly talking about me to her friend just because I brought 4 colors to the chair with me to choose while she does my pedicure. So petty to mock to your customers. My technician wasn't nice at all, never smiled. Instead of being welcomed, I felt as though I was a nuisance, although I gave them absolutely no reason to feel that way. My manicure lasted all of 5 min, didn't do a good job on my cleaning and I have clear coat half covering the polish on a couple of my nails. Prices are not listed anywhere in their store. Needless to say I was surprised when my simple mani/pedi was $39 (was expecting around $34 max). I still gave a generous tip as I like to be the better person, but that's the last of my business they'll receive. read more

But besides that I got a dip with tips on my nails and all of my nails are lumpy and you can tell I got fake tips on. I feel like she did them in such a rush. I had no idea that finding a nail salon open past 6pm on a Saturday was going to be so involved that I'd have to call over 20 different businesses and drive over 25 miles from my house to get my digits did. Thank Gawd for Lovely Nails... because I was lookin' straight toe-up. Friendly on the phone, and even though they were practically packed an hour and 15 before close, they got me right in and didn't give me any quick-e-mani-pedi, this was the real deal. Their prices are the best I've seen in the suburban area and outstanding for the quality of work you receive. They offer several services that I haven't see offered at other salons like the option to add the no-chip treatment on to any acrylic or gel nails for only $10, and lash extensions and refills for an price so low I won't even mention it due to the fact I'm tired of all my fave budget businesses blowing up and having to wait in line. Let me just say that it's astounding... And having been there throughout the last hour and a half of their 'open' hours, I got to see their immaculate cleaning rituals. They were going at those pedi chairs with a vengeance like I've never seen. Lastly, they have a senior mani/pedi special. I've been to Lovely Nails of Addison a few times now, so I finally feel confident enough to give them a full review. I started coming back to Lovely Nails after the place closest to me scared me away for life. I find them to be competitively priced for the area, but I believe they do a better job than many of the other salons around here. I can almost always come as a walk-in, so that's a big plus. I usually get a basic pedicure or a mani-pedi combo. My friend has done a no chip and was happy with the color choices. I think they have a great selection for the regular polish, too. I've found that even the basic services have left my nails looking lovely for well over a week. I generally do my own fingernails at home and come back once a month to get my feet cleaned up. They also do waxing and I've been pleased with my eyebrows when they talk me into it. There are only a few downsides and they are pretty minimal. - It can get busy, so I have had to wait before, but it wasn't a big deal. - I once made an appointment for 5:30pm and they put me down for 5pm. It was an evening when the weather didn't cooperate, so I called to tell them I was running late. Since they booked me for 5 it made me look extremely late when I finally got there at 6pm, and they let us know it. - Their fancy schmancy deluxe pedicure costs a lot more than the basic but didn't seem different enough to justify the extra cash. read more

I went to Lovely nails today and got a mani/pedi done by Kathy 10/10!! She did AMAZING! I also got my lip and brows waxed by Yuku and it burned like the dickens. Not my 1st rodeo. The shape of my brows are gorgeous but I'm now missing a layer of skin off of my face hence the 4/5 instead of 5 stars. I honestly don't think it's her fault I think I just have wimpy skin. I've been going here on and off for the past 3 years. It's close to home and convenient to come to this nail salon. A recent visit on a Saturday changed my perspective and I will not return. I can honestly say there's only a handful of people who work here that care about the clientele's needs and those people need to be recognized. Bob is pleasant to go to, he does what you ask and the results leave me content. I would recommend making an appointment with Amy because she's very talented with blending and creating a design on a nail like an expert. I did gel French ombré with her and she can do it within 40 minutes AND with many distractions because she answers the phones, talks to her staff, and talks to people walking in, I believe she is the owner of this location. She works hard and many hours. One day I walked in on a Saturday morning expecting to get a fill. Wait time was quoted 20 minutes. An older lady was running the show because Amy wasn't there. I sit down and start to get my nails filed and they mention I need a new set as my nails have all lifted. I didn't have a problem with that or replacing them either for an up-charge. They then say they cannot do a new set because "they don't have anyone there." I looked at them confused and then they said to come back later? I work 7 days a week, I don't have time to "come back later" after waiting patiently 40 minutes. The older lady is very old school and wouldn't care about it if I mentioned it to her. I love this place!!! I have lived in addison for over 13 years and have gone to so many nail places. This by far is my favorite !! I have never received any type of infections or issues with my nails ever in the history of me going to Lovely. I've been coming here since I moved to Addison 7 years ago. Last 2 years this place has really been bad as far as quality services. Came in today at 4:30 and asked for 2 pedicures. They were not overly busy as all of the pedicure chairs were open with employees standing in back by the sink. The receptionist said she could only do 1 pedicure. Really? 2 1/2 hours until closing and couldn't fit in 2. Went down lake st to MIO Nail & Spa (which closes at same time) and they gladly got us in. I went to get a pedi right before leaving town, turns out a week later a fungus appeared under my big toe. The only thing I could think of is from getting my pedicure. The workers use the same tools for every person and they don't spray down the bowls after working on a customer. Since I work in this neighborhood now, I thought it would be important for me to find a place where I can get my nails did during lunch - just a little lunch time R&R and I think I may have found my place :) First off - it's really clean and it doesn't stink of chemicals. Second, the ambiance is light and airy - not as cheesy as other asian nail places. They also have all new massage chairs that are awesome! Lastly what I like most is that if you are a regular customer, you get your own nail kit!!! This is the place if you like the TV show the View. That means, if you like chatter, if you like a flurry of activity, if you like lots of busy-ness. I personally prefer a more laid back and serene mani and pedi experience, but in a pinch Lovely Nails will be my Go-To. This place does get busy, but will work with you to get your services done. They take walk-ins but best to call for an appointment if you can. It had been a couple years since I've been here. My favorite salon is in a farther burb. But I found myself with 90 child free minutes. 90 minutes!!! Woo-Hoo Pedicure time! They were able to take me right away, only a short 5 minute wait. They carry a lot of OPI and Essie brands. Tammy was my tech and she asked me if I wanted a manicure too and I said I really didn't have any time. She said we could get it done if I really wanted all the services. She suggested I do the no-chip as well because it will be a lot faster without the necessary drying time of lacquered nails. Well, 90 minutes later, my tootsies look great, feet are soft, my nails look superb and my brows have been neatened. Oh to feel pretty again. I'll endure the gaggle of activity if it promises good results handled professionally in a good amount of time. Clean digs, friendly service. Just lots and lots of chatter. So the sign on the wall states that manicures are $12. I was charged $15 without explanation. Maybe that's only for straight manicures. Crooked, uneven manicures, like the one I got, must cost $3 more. Maybe I'm just being a jerk. I don't want to be. I wanted to LOVE this place. In fact, some of my closest friends come here all the time (hi guys! sorry I'm about to rag on your place. Don't hate me.) and wouldn't go anywhere else. But I didn't enjoy my experience in the slightest. First, I waited over a half hour just for a manicure. My normal place is usually twice as busy and still gets me in within about 10 minutes. Normally, there's no wait. Then the tools. I've read a lot about the "cleanliness" of Lovely Nails, but I just didn't see it. My usual place uses a clean, sterilized set for every client. In fact, they take them out of sealed wrappers. The tools they used on me at LN didn't look clean OR sterilized. In fact, the whole place had kind of a dingy, unkept appearance to it. When I went to the back room to wash my hands when the girl was done there was just a dirty towel to wipe your hands dry with. Again, the place I'm used to uses fresh towels for each person. Nearby there were a bunch of dirty buckets and rusty pails. They might as well send their customers into the boiler room to wash their hands. Or why even bother? The floor was dingy. The nail drying station was chipped and had a piece broken off of the bottom. The girl who did my (uneven) manicure coughed the entire time and at one point, one of her coworkers asked her how she was feeling, to which she replied "not good." This is not what one wants to hear when you are working inches away from one's face. The whole process felt rushed. She didn't work on my cuticles and give them adequate time to soak, so I had hangnails the next day. In fact, as she trimmed them, she missed several places and had to go back to clean them up after she was done. All in all, this was very disappointing. And I wouldn't be all that bothered if it weren't for the fact that I only pay $3 more for a manicure at a MUCH nicer place not far away. $3 more and you get more attention, clean tools, proper evenness and a complimentary bottle of water. I do need to say that we made "reservations" weeks ahead of time to make sure that our group could be taken together but that didn't happen. Although they knew we were coming, we were still taken one-by-one for either a mani or pedi, whichever was available. The work that they did was pretty standard, but my lady was super friendly. I can tell they do a lot of "up-charging" to get you to buy more. Just stand your ground and tell them only what you want. Finally decided to write a review after a few visits. I've never felt particularly comfortable in this place even though I've desperately tried to like it because of how close to home it is. Maybe I've been stuck with the oddballs because I haven't made an appt? On one particular occasion the tech said nothing to me during a pedicure. On my last visit I asked for a no-chip mani and regular pedi. The girl assured me that they could match them both because of their extensive color section. I agree that the mani and pedi color looked the same after the first coat on my toes. But when she finished, my pedicure looked cream and my toes looked lilac. I pointed this out to the tech and she basically complained that they couldn't match the color. Umm, hello? You just told me the opposite. Then when she told me to go sit in her chair, she got a good laugh when I sat in the wrong chair. My bad for sitting at the table where she had placed my nail polish. The place is clean and they do a good job, but I think I'll drive down the street to a salon without anti-social techs. read more

Granted, I haven't been to a whole lot of nail salons, but this place came highly recommended to me. So I figured that I'd give it a shot. I did do a walk-in, which probably should count against me. I didn't know that you typically make appointments for these types of things (salon newbie). I requested some nail art for the holiday, which is something that I see my friend get all the time, and hers look fantastic. Mine was just ok. Not great, not terrible. I like the concept, and the staff seemed friendly. But I guess that if you want art done, don't do a walk in! Call and make an appointment with whichever tech is best at art. I know that they have done a fantastic job with my friend's nails in the past. I did find it rather pricey (nearly $50 for the manicure and so-so paint job). I have been going to Lovely Nails for 11 years now and drive over 20 minutes to get there. I have a ton of nails salons in my neighborhood but none of them measure up to lovely nails. The Salon Is super clean!!!! The employees are really really nice, once you go there a couple times they remember your name! Even the girls that don't regularly do your nails. I have been going to ANNA for years, she is amazing. So nice and her work is top notch. Her pink and whites are fabulous as well as her pedicures. She is truly a gem. I called in to secure a spot for an acrylic nail fill. The woman that answered was the owner, Amy. I asked her how long the wait would be and she said 15-20 minutes because all the techs are tied up. I then proceeded to ask if all her techs are equipped to handle acrylic fill ins because twice I was told that I had to wait because a tech did not feel comfortable to take on the task. No issue with me, but I would like to know the realistic wait since I had an event tonight. Amy responded, "excuse you , all nails techs at this salon can handle acrylic nails." Baffles me that an owner would talk to a client of two years like that. Certainly lost my business. read more
