Melissa G was my aesthetician and the appointment started off great, although she didn't ask me how I like my brows done before starting, which is unusual. However, after 45 minutes or so I noticed she wasn't changing her gloves and they were getting really sticky with wax residue, so every time she'd touch me I'd get stickier too - the paper cover on the table underneath me was starting to come off stuck to me in shreds. After she adjusted the position of the wax table, including unplugging and replugging the wax warmer cord with her gloves still on, I politely asked her if she could change her gloves before continuing, and she said sure, she would if she *had* some (?!?!). Guess what, friends - there was only one more glove in the whole store in her size, and all the others were much much too small to fit her. I'm not sure how gloves don't get routinely restocked in a waxing salon, and I'm not sure how Melissa thought it would be ok to perform a nearly full-body wax appointment with one and a half pairs of gloves, when typically in my experience gloves get changed pretty often during a wax -- if she had welcomed me to my appointment and said, I'm so sorry, I realized I'm out of gloves, do you mind waiting 10 minutes while I run to the Bartell's LESS THAN TWO BLOCKS AWAY and grab a box, I would have been happy to wait AND would have been grateful for the emphasis on hygiene practices. I don't even want to think about the germs that got cross-contaminated onto my raw exfoliated skin from that one pair of gloves touching everything in the room. Never again will I book here.

She also asked me to REMOVE my review. And all this happened from 3.30 AM to 5 AM, yes early morning 3.30, the same person who didn't have time earlier to reply to my emails in the daytime. And when I told her that it's surprising that she had the time to send emails at 3.30 AM, she said that she can email at any hour suitable to her. Really? No, you cannot do that, you cannot disturb someone at 3.30 am. I couldn't sleep at all that night and it was really a horrible experience for me and I wish no one goes through something like this, that too just for a facial. Taylor Preston, the owner of Estrella Salon contacted me the next day, I had got waxing done from her in November 2014. Taylor apologized after reading Ceanna's emails and offered to give me a facial with 50% discount. You can read the whole thing below: According to Ceanna, my cancellations have interrupted her ongoing clients, but I don't know how she is accusing me for the July cancellation when she herself was not in Seattle from June to August 17th. And if she was busy she could have told me the very first day that she cannot accept new clients. She said just because she cancelled on me I shouldn't have taken it so personally and acted upon something so minor. And it doesn't warrant my emotional reactions to lash out at her business even if I got to know about the cancellation only after I inquired about my appointment. "Being informed is being informed", these were her words, and because I never received any service from her I can't write about my experience. So, in short a customer cannot be busy because they don't have any other work in their life other than getting a facial and they can't write about an experience before the actual service. She also told me that since she had OFFERED me a recommendation even when she has never met me so it was EXCELLENT customer service, yes she wrote those words in UPPER CASE. And that I never responded to this offer and that she can no longer offer me that recommendation. I mean, really? After living in Seattle for a year does anybody need recommendations? Her language clearly shows that she felt she was doing me a big favor with the RECOMMENDATION and that without her recommendation I can't find another esthetician. I felt like laughing because I have already received facials from 3 different estheticians in Seattle and they are all awesome, but I wanted something in walking distance from my apartment so I contacted her but now I really regret it. I really couldn't believe that I received emails with such language and few words in UPPER CASE and that too between 3.30 AM-5.30 AM. Are customers so unimportant that they should be obliged or scared to write about their negative experience?? This whole thing could have been handled maturely, rather than accusing and threatening a customer.

I can see parking being a little difficult here during busy hours since it's in belltown, but definitely worth it in my opinion. Another customer came in around 7:30pm requesting a mani/pedi and the owner happily agreed to provide service. TIP: Call in advance to ensure they're open if it's later at night!

Angela is really fantastic. I had never had my lashes or brows tinted and I had never had my brows waxed. She made my first time comfortable and fun. She is a great conversationalist and answered all of my questions. The Skin Boutique is small, personal, comfortable, and relaxing with a beautiful view of a church across the street. However it's not in Fremont like Yelp says, it's now in Queen Anne surrounded by a hundred great places to shop and eat. You can easily make a fun afternoon of lunch, beauty and shopping. I had done some reading on getting lashes tinted and everything says to expect a fair amount stinging in your eyes both during and afterward the procedure. Mine hardly stung at all and only in one eye. As soon as I told Angela she quickly rinsed my eye and the stinging was gone for good. She was very concerned for my comfort, which I appreciated. My eyebrows and lashes look fantastic. I'm a redhead so I worried the color wouldn't match but it looks SO natural and I love how she shaped them. I am writing this on behalf of Dawn. She is deaf/blind with cerebral palsy. She goes to Angie for facials and body treatments. The facials relax her and make her skin glow and Dawn leaves smiling. While waiting for the products to soak in Angie massages Dawn's hands with lotion. The body treatments are not on Angie's menu. Dawn's skin gets dry and itchy so Angie gives her a body scrub followed by a mask, deep cleaning and hydrating her skin. Angie goes above and beyond to give Dawn just what she needs. Angie is thoughtful and vey nice. It is her mission to give each client exactly what they require. I have gone to Angela for many years, for many different services, facials, eyebrow tinting and shaping, and bikini line maintenance. She is professional, thorough and kind. All of her services are wonderful. I would like to highlight her facials in particular. I have very sensitive skin as I used too much alpha hydroxy acid during my teen years and have allergies I acquired around 30. Angela has seen me for a couple of decades, through everything including change of life skin changes. I received an oxygen facial from Angela a month ago before my 50th birthday and my skin still feels amazing. She uses this oxygen machine that has a wand that feels like it sucks up your skin a bit (but doesn't hurt at all) and when it was finished my skin felt hydrated and fuller, and the best part is it seems to last a while. After reaching 40 and getting diagnosed with rosacea I finally decided to venture into the world of facial care with Lynda as my guide. Honestly I was a little bit skeptical, as I didn't know how to distinguish between legitimately helpful treatments, and woo stuff designed to separate me from my money. I trusted Lynda however, and let her recommend how to proceed. I had a series of three peels (lactic 24%/TCA 10%) and three micro channeling, and two spot treatments with pulse laser to address redness at La Belle Vie med spa. At home I use The Ordinary Retinoids at night. The results are obviously a result of everything, but the majority is due to Lynda. I'm very pleased and plan on continuing to address redness with the laser. I'm very glad I put myself in the capable hands of Lynda. Highly recommend.
