On Sunday (9/22), hubby & I decided to treat ourselves to a message; after searching Yelp, we decided on Angel Spa Massage (ASM). I left a message on their website, and did hear back from someone in the 2 day period. I booked a day & time, then needed to change it. They graciously accommodated me. Because it is our first time here, arrived little early as we did not know what to expect; it is located in a little strip mall in the Southbay -- blink and you miss it, but the big sign on the storefront is very helpful. Make sure you read the sign as to which door to enter in. Once we entered, the reception/waiting area is very small with interesting knickknacks to look at, and has a price list. Dear Reviewers, please be advised you must pay first, and receive a small discount if you pay with cash. We decided to go with the 60 minute hot oil and aromatherapy massage with hot stones thrown in -- because I did my first check in with this area, we were given a small discount which I gladly accepted. The room Hubby and I had was dim, and a nice size. We were provided with sealed bottles of water as we waited for our masseuses. The music is relaxing, it didn't smell moldy, dirty or used. The sheet provided to cover yourselves, and that you're massaged through, was a bit small, but we made it work. Hubby said his masseuse had strong fingers, and he was very satisfied with the services received. He especially liked the hot rocks. My masseuse (Summer) was great, and she adjusted the pressure as needed -- I'm a big baby and don't like painful massages. Just got a 1 hour $40 massage (+$2atm fee) from Tina and it was AMAZING!!! I came in with headache, tight achy shoulders and neck. She took out crazy knots. Such a relief and I feel soooo much better! I didn't even tell her what my symptoms were and she knew exactly where to focus on and provide me with relief. She made us pay AND TIP before rendering services which seemed racially charged but I can't be sure. We went to get a couples massage; I had to tell her she could actually start after she was rubbing my back for 10 mins. She other woman kept walking away from my guy to answer the door- no lie like 6 times, they need a receptionist Had to teach/prompt my masseuse what to do. The space feels like it is 1998. Super outdated, watermarks on the ceiling... also it's Covid but it seems they were reusing a napkin on the face hole, I found hair on mine and replaced it. The way they charged me. I could have gone to an actual spa. It wasn't bad starting out, but being that I went to massage therapy school. This place isn't it for me. It definitely could have been better. The hot stone was half assed. You pay before the service. Just a FYI. I wanted to tip max $10. They asked for more. That was it for me. This place was cheap at $60 for an hour and a half but my lady was not very skilled, she did not respect keeping certain areas covered and got a bit too close to my parts if you know what I mean. The girl massaging me used way to much elbow my back hurt afterwards and then she forced me to leave a tip she even went after me in the parking lot pointing at me and yelling for her tip until I went back. So if you go you're forced to pay and leave a generous tip. read more

This is a hard place to review as I feel like it was an OK massage and this is the classic "you get what you pay for" so let me first say that the price is great! 1 hour hot stone massage for $50! You can't beat that..right! But for $50 you get what you pay for. Let me first start off by saying that I called to see if I could get an appointment and within the half hour of calling they could fit me in! When I arrived I was greeted by a woman who was very nice, but also immediately asked me if I would be paying by card or cash. I didn't have enough cash. So I said, "card" She said fine, "there is $2.00 added for tax." This is actually just a charge for paying by card. I always think its wierd when a company charges you the credit card fee and it's not like it was a $10 purchase. But the thing that threw me the most was I had to pay ahead of time. There was also no way for me to add a tip so now I was struggling to figure out how much cash I was going to be able to find at the bottom of my purse. I also didn't want her to charge my card again as it may also now include a $2.00 fee! So we move to the massage room. It's fine, clean, it's not fancy but there is a sign on the wall indicating that this is not a place of prostitution and then in bold it says "the person takes on all responsibility and not the company " or something to that regard. Now I'm feeling like I'm in a shady place. I'm not saying it is! I have no idea! I can just say I've never seen that in any other massage place I have EVER been too. Maybe it's in fine print somewhere or on a brochure someplace. But this one is next to the door! So on to the massage- it was a $50 massage. She brought her phone in and played asian music and at some point it started playing the new James bond commercial and it was going in and out and she did spend a few minutes fixing it a couple times which was strange. Then when it came time to do the hot stones she apologized they were not as hot as she would like. I didn't mind that. What was strange is she just piled the stones on my back and then put the blanket over them and then massaged my neck. I'm not sure they have grasped what a hot stone massage is. Or maybe the four others I have gotten before are going ABOVE and BEYOND! And I agree with another review they get very close to your lady parts and tuck sheets places that make you really hope that there is strong bleach when they wash them and put them back on! I was relaxed at some points and she worked on my back to the point I could have been in tears. But I was also left thinking if she isnt trained in this I could be really messing my back up! So I just wasn't too relaxed at other times but again..it was $50 so I got what I paid for. Now the foot massage was AMAZING! I would have paid the $50 for that! When the hour was over she excused herself and then came back with water. It was nice and it had some areas where it was OK and others where I was just not relaxed and confused! It's just not a spa..it felt like a massage parlor which just made me feel wierd. Pro- parking, walk- in welcome, very reasonable price/cheap, very nice staff, very accommodating, seems like a clean place, somewhat decent massage, amazing foot massage! Cons- pay first, $2 charge to use credit card so bring cash, no area to add tip to the charge, interesting music and or lack of, can get a little too close for comfort levels, the wierd sign when you enter. You can hear conversations from the staff or other patrons. Not sure if they are trained in massage practices. If you don't have any issues with the cons than this is the place for you! The worst massage ever; the massage from hell! I went for the first time to. Angel Spa Massage to get a combined body hot coal/aromatherapy 50 minute massage for $50 plus $2 to use my credit card. The non-English Vietnamese lady did not understand what I requested them sent me to a cold room without a heater, then moved me to another room. She began massaging me and put a lot of pressure on my back which made me scream in pain so she became more lenient. Then, she left the room several times making me wait for several minutes waiting for her to return. She then brought hot rocks which were cold and I told her. She left to warm up the rocks and returned with a burnt hand she was complaining; I told her to stop the massage and she said no. She put the hot rock on my back which was very hot and she burned me. She left to add cold water on the rock and made it tolerable but had a cold wet cloth for her injured hand which created a sensation of cold and hot at the same time, awkward. Her massage was not soothing or relaxing, clearly she did not know how to give a massage and she was the only person working. I had a 10:00AM Saturday appointment on March 14th. When she was finished she demanded a tip and I told her that I did not have cash, she said to use my credit card for the tip and I said no. I left and did not leave a tip. I am very discontent with her service. I am returning to Lucky Spa Massage for a $20 one hour foot massage, lesson learned for trying a body massage at this place.
