This salon is near my home and I had been here once before and so was glad that I remembered that this salon is here. The service is excellent and I totally agree with the other reviewer who said that the place is filled with angels. It is! I usually get a basic mani pedi but today I sprung for an upgrade and it was worth it!! I enjoyed a sugar scrub, a massage, hot towels and other fancy treatments. I've been here twice and have received good service each time. First was for a pedicure and I had a bit of a wait but was seated promptly. The tech was so friendly and hilarious, joking with not only me but the lady next to me. It was good conversation. The second time I came for a manicure and I was the only one in the salon so I was serviced immediately. A gentlemen did my gel nails and he was very thorough, taking his time to make sure everything was just right and asking my approval during the process. Angel nails are full of angels! My daughter wanted her nails painted for her third birthday. I wanted to give her the full experience so decided to pop into angels on a Tuesday afternoon. They were able to get us in right away. The male nail tech did an amazing job on my daughter's tiny nails and even did a hand drawn flower on her nail. She was thrilled. The owner was SO nice and attentive to us. She talked to us the entire time and just made my daughter feel like a princess for her first experience. The nails are a nice pale and shiny pink and aren't bumpy. I choose to have them dip polished. The cost was about average, 50.00 for the service and I left 20% for a tip. Cons : I thought maybe my nails would be shaped and that's didn't happen. Some are rounded and some Vivian made more of a square. I will have to file those myself to become uniform. I have been here several times over the last few years and it is always amazing service. I usually make an appointment but did a walk in today for my daughter's birthday and they got us both in and out so fast with custom paint! Please spend your money elsewhere I dropped by for a walk in and they were able to assist me. I was excited. I am so tired and I was looking forward to a pedicure and I wanted to try somewhere new. This place really raises some sanitary questions. Many things were very dirty She starts off by using the electric file on my toes to get my gel off and I have ticklish feet, so she accidentally shaved off the skin on the side of my toe because she wasn't really securing my toe down when she was doing the pedicure. I started bleeding 2 minutes into my pedicure. I'm apologize and said sorry I'm ticklish. She told me to hold my knee. I told her it won't work. She then separate my toe one my one to file the gel polish off (like she should have been doing) and that stopped me being ticklish. She didn't once apologize for take a chunk out of my toe I wasn't going to write a review...but the cherry on top is that she was filing my toes down and she also filed off my skin on the tips of my toes. Its hurt to wear socks and it hurts when I have any type of cloth touch the tip of my toes because the skin is raw First glacé my toes turned out fine but I shouldn't have been in this discomfort two days later Truth of the matter is, there are a few other salons in Reno that is up to date on today's sanitary needs, and puts more care into a relaxing pedicure. I wasn't greeted or anything just told to wash my hands and sit down (apparently I sat down in the wrong spot and was asked to move promptly) then told to pick a color so I went to the color wall only to be told to sit down and choose from the nails swatches. Again not greeted or asked how I was or anything of the sort from the nail tech Emily. The first time I went, I had Helen do my nails. I love them, 2nd time she was busy so I gave her other worker a chance his name was Steve well i didn't really like him at all, I didn't want to tell her because I am not the type of person. So I stopped going back for a couple of months. I regret because I should have said something instead of going around and finding other places to go, which I still didn't like. I ended up going back because my birthday is coming up, and I just wanted my nails to look cute for my upcoming birthday. I Went to this place today as my nail lady Quyen moved here to this place. I really did not want to go someplace else, but I really really like the way Quyen does my nails and toes. As soon as I walked in, they all said hello, Quyen hugged me and said thanks for following and a guy who worked there said he wanted a hug. We all laughed, and I felt comfy. Visited what is now, Angel Nails, today after work to get a pedicure and a shellac manicure. I was fortunate to walk in and sit right down as it was around 1:30 in the afternoon and was clearly not one of their busier times. Both ladies that were working were friendly but I feel their services have gone a bit down hill. My pedicure was decent, nothing extra special, but nothing to complain about. Unfortunately when I was ready for my manicure I was sat in the exact same spot that the previous client had been sitting and I did not see a change of towel or the space even remotely cleaned before I sat down. There were still clippings readily apparent on the counter top and I was having to continuously rest my arm/hand on top of a round container of nail powder which became less than comfortable. My nails look ok, which in the end is what I went in for, but in total honestly, this was not my best experience at the establishment. I think just a bit more organization at the nail station would be beneficial in making a future experience more satisfactory. read more

Wasn't really impressed with my pedicure. My cuticles weren't trimmed, the dead skin was hardly removed at all and the gel was on my skin so it doesn't look neat at all. I paid $37 (more than i paid last time) but when i usually go they always give a student discount, when i asked about it they said they didn't have one. If the owners see this, i'm hoping we can fix this. *later today* okay so i went back to get my toes fixed. Super disappointed in my visit there. Especially because this happened the day before quarantine so I couldn't even go to another salon to have someone just take them off completely. I have been here before and have not felt as uncomfortable as I did today. I came in for a full acrylic set with gel polish on top. The lady who worked on my nails first was rushing through the whole process, honestly they looked fine up until she started putting the polish on. The polish had been placed in a very sloppy manner and was not shaped or dripped into my cuticle. She continued to cure them even though the cuticle side of the nail was completely misshaped and spilled over onto my skin. I tried to explain that she needed to fix it because in when my nails grow out the shape will be uneven, unleveled and the manicure I just got days before will need to be fixed. So she refused to fix them and made the other tech repolish them. As you can see in the pictures she completely tore through my nail with her file and made a number of my fingers have hang nails and they were bleeding! They even charged me for the polish change. You will never see my business again, your techs are extremely rude and not accommodating and it seemed like she was trying to purposefully hurt me when she filed through my skin and nails. read more

Helen seemed rushed and very annoyed throughout my appointment. Granted it was the end of the day so she was probably hungry and tired. Nonetheless they should not book appointments if they aren't planning on providing the best possible customer service. I was getting a gel manicure so when she was removing my old gels she was very harsh with the drill. She was very abrupt and used the file very hard not concerned about hurting me. Somewhat of a passive aggressive personality since she would throw in a "sweetie" name periodically. Quick story time and to save my friends from the nightmare and pain I've experienced: I had a FEW bad experience at Angel Nails off of Vista, by Raleys. First time I went, I took my step daughter to get a manicure with me. The older lady working kept rolling her eyes as my 7 year old slightly moved around in her seat. I was assisting and reminding her to sit still but I guess the minor movements made the lady slap my step daughters hand? I've never seen a technician do this. I immediately spoke up and said to not do that again. Now it's my turn to get my nails done by this same tech. She was already upset bc she apparently has arthritis and it was late in her work day. While I sat there to get my nails done, she would literally STOP doing my nails because I would barely move. (Looking over at my step daughter to talk to her, I can promise you my hands were barely moving IF ANY) I was waiting for her to hit my hand. Lol Second time, I took my daughter to get her nails done. The owner cut her nails so short that her nail beds were showing and took a couple days to grow out and not cause her discomfort. At that same appointment I asked for acrylic nails. This lady used MMA acrylic, not even fda approved! She cut my cuticles so much. One area was pretty bad. The aftermath of trying to removed this MMA acrylic was horrendous. I had the amazing owner of Sassy Nails (I think is the name, by 711 way up Pyramid- across from save mart) remove the nails and confirmed it was mma. My nails took 4 months to recover from that. I knew better, but I needed a pedicure before my friends wedding. I called them up and made an appointment. The owner was cutting my nails and cleaning them up, 10 min into the appointment. She cut me so deep!! I bled so much! She had me put my foot back into the bowl after she tried to control the bleeding. She brought it back out because I kept telling her it was burning in the soak products. She said she put antibacterial on and was going to attempt to continue with my toe bleeding out. Lol After the worlds worst week...a piece of me wanted to stay and tough it out with her but I had to get up and leave to go home and clean this open wound. As I got up the owner told me "you don't have to pay". LOL I promise the thought of paying her didn't cross my mind. She should have paid me as hush money bc im on day 4 and can barely walk without pain. It's now been 4 days since and I can barely put pressure on my one foot. It's probably leaning towards the infected side. Than Idk what more I can do but to save people from going to this place. Lol Clearly, I'm a VERY FORGIVING PERSON.
