If you're looking for a friendly and honest neighborhood mechanic - you've found him! I was…read morereferred to Marty through the mechanic at a previous job, and I haven't looked back since. Marty is professional, and his front desk service techs are always willing to answer questions, accommodate service requests and always do their best to get me into one of their free loaner vehicles while my car is in the shop! I first started going to Bettcher's when I was relatively new to the city - as a woman (who knows little about cars), it's pretty easy to be taken for a ride when it comes to auto service (no pun intended!). I was glad to have had a solid referral, and have always been able to address any price/service issues directly with Marty...needless to say my car runs like a dream! While you're in the shop, don't forget to pick up a Bettcher's bottle of water - he really does go the extra mile!

I was fortunate enough to be introduced to these guys in 1995. They have been repairing my car (and…read moremy friends) ever since. Strengths: Incredible customer service. They are genuinely not happy until you are. Clear explainations of problems, careful tracking of your vehicle history, friendly and skilled staff, willingness to refer you if someone else could do a job cheaper/faster/better. They are particulary good at recommending the cheapest effective options. Once the solution was to hit a part with a wrench; it worked, and they charged me nothing. On a couple of occasions where repairs were not spot-on, they fixed the problem without hesitation. Case in point: I had a starter that chronically failed over a few years. I only paid for it once, but they replaced it and found the root cause of the problem. You owe it to yourself to check them out.

When I asked him to check my brake concern that had been brushed off by the dealership he found that issue as well and corrected it. I loved how upon picking up my vehicle he had the offending pieces of my vehicle that were causing my problems and showed me exactly what the issue was. The whole time I felt respected and was taken seriously. Value for money is there, I paid exactly what I expected to pay and can't be more pleased than that. I'd trust Karmen to watch my drink.

I took my 2017 Mercedes GLS to EC Auto Repair Edmonton on November 2, 2025, and it turned into one…read moreof the worst experiences I've ever had with any mechanic shop. My vehicle stayed in their shop for 4 days, and after the inspection they told me that my driver-side lower control arm was broken and that the thermostat needed replacement. They charged me $3,600, but never provided any proof, photos, or explanation showing that the arm was actually broken. They also refused to give me the parts invoice, never showed the cost of the parts they used, and provided no breakdown at all. They charged me $2,200 just for labor, yet this job normally takes around 3 hours, not multiple days. When I asked for labor rate, time, or details, they didn't provide anything. The whole process felt unprofessional, unclear, and extremely overpriced. The worst part is that after I picked up my car, it had even bigger problems than before. The vehicle started having new issues immediately, and now I have to take it to another certified Mercedes mechanic to fix whatever was done to it. I honestly have no idea what they did to my car, but the quality of work seems extremely poor. I am very disappointed and strongly warn anyone with a high-end vehicle: do not trust this shop with your car. They provided no transparency, no proof, no proper documentation, overcharged for labor, and returned my car in worse condition than it arrived.

So when the bunny's car had issues and needed some diagnosis and loving, she had trepidations, and I puffed up to help out and run interference (even though my hardware experience is centered around something many nanometers smaller than an oil dipstick). Neither of us needn't have worried. The staff at Ital Motors were reassuring on the phone, honored our Groupon, saw us the same day as the check engine light turned on, gave us advice and recommendations about not only the issue at hand but helpfully triaged the next needed repairs on the bunny's car. No pressure, no frisson of of sleazy, just well-communicated car love. Highly recommended.

With this and a bunch of other repairs the bill was much less than what any of the dealers wanted to charge me just for the turbo replacement. I have sent several friends there and they are nice enough to tell you ahead of time if it is worth it. A friends transmission was failing and he let her know how much the fix would cost and the fact that replacing the solenoid as it was saying would most probably not solve it and it would require a full trans replacement. So she could decide ahead of time that it was not worth it to start down that road on an old vehicle that the repairs would cost more than it would be worth. Dealers would have done the initial repair knowing that it would just have been pouring money into a hole.
