Came here for a quick lunch and would like to say my partner and I from LA and San Diego so honestly we weren't expecting much when it came to Mexican in banff, but we were proven wrong! It was super delicious and honestly exceeded our expectations. The wait staff was so friendly in helping us decide what to get and service was super quick! I think we waited maybe 10 minutes haha. Inside is also very cute, lots of seating and located in the heart of downtown. We loved it!

We were craving Mexican food while visiting Banff and that's how our story with Anejo started. Thankfully didn't have to wait for a table and were able to snag a nice U shaped booth. Our server greeted us immediately and was super kind, friendly, and elevated our experience. She gave us some helpful tips for the menu and also some perspective on Banff as a local. To start, we ordered the tortilla soup. Let it be known, it was the best tortilla soup I have ever had; so good, so spicy, so tasty. For my main, I had an assortment of 3 tacos (1 fish, 2 chicken tinga). I appreciated that the tacos were not drenched in a bunch of sauces and had fresh ingredients that complemented the protein. Overall, loved the food and felt satisfied.

Good food and exceptional service. With outdoor seating and family friendly, it's one of the gems to eat at the banff downtown. We enjoyed our food and drinks in the perfect summer of banff. I hope you do to.

Friendly service and a mixed break from the Banff street crowds, not busy at 1:30 but we had reservations. Great guacamole mixed tableside. Tacos were just ok, we had corn and they were kind of soft and floppy room temp, would have been better warmed. We sat at a booth which was nice

Dry burritos are 10/10 and I loveee the elote bowl, the vibe ... and obviously the happy hour margaritas!! Diego is always the best, very attentive & friendly.

We stopped in while visiting Banff before our dinner reservation because we were both very hungry. We opted for ordering off the happy hour menu. We got the house margaritas and two tacos. Both were very flavorful and hit the spot. Highly recommend if you're in Banff and looking for a comfortable, casual Mexican restaurant, check out Anejo.

Stumbled upon this Mexican restaurant in Banff. The ambiance was really nice and the decor really suited the atmosphere. Got the Beef Barbacoa, Pork Carnitas and Crispy Fish tacos. They tasted good and the spicy mayo helped enhance the flavour. Decently priced for a restaurant in a tourist town. Service was also quick and friendly.

Quesabirria tacos on corn tortillas with rice. All gluten free

This is an EXCELLENT Mexican restaurant. We ordered tableside guacamole and tableside salsa. If you specify you're gluten free, they will bring gluten free chips to the table. Both the guacamole and salsa were very fresh. Please note this is not going to be a typical salsa and it's very chunky. We all ordered the quesabirria tacos on corn tortillas (gluten free). I ordered mine without cheese to be dairy free. The consume dipping juice was AMAZZZINNG. I literally could've drank it. It was so flavorful and delicious. My husband ordered the rice as a side but I didn't care for it. They have an awesome menu and SO MANY gluten free options. Our friend who isn't gluten free also loved it. We ate outside and it was beautiful to be around the mountains.

Loved the food & vibe at this place. Our server was the sweetest nicest person to talk to. We went in for their happy hour between 9-11pm. We got a bunch of margaritas, tinga tacos and fried fish tacos. We also got the salsa set with a side of Spanish rice. For dessert we got their tres leches. Great food, friendly service and cute interiors. Absolute must visit in Banff!

Their white hot mayo is off the charts tasty!!

The flavor was not bad but they really skimped on the amount of toppings. For what these cost, you deserve better. I also tried their Caesar Salad. While my back was turned to the room, I believe there was only one person for much of our visit trying to do it all. Interactions were businesslike, and there was a delay in paying.

She also gave us the best table in the place, looking out to the garden! Loved her! You can build your own charcuterie board by picking the amount of cheese and charcuterie you want. Located inside of a hotel, the decor is old school and a bit run-down. The service was prompt but spotty at times. The servers seemed more interested in cleaning up for the next day. We started with the nachos, El toro salad and the calamari. The nachos were salty. The dipping sauce were very generic, like store bought, 2/5. El toro salad was pretty good but not a lot of beetroot, 4/5. The calamari was rubbery and too salty, 2/5. Main we got the veg fajitas. They come in a sizzling skillet. The vegetables used were clearly frozen, it had beans, zucchini, carrots, baby corn, and peas. It was spicy but also very salty. For 27 bucks quite underwhelming. Overall, not a place I wouod go back to.

They just can't make a pina colada because they don't have a blender. I highly recommend the ribeye. You get a lot of meat for what you pay and it was delicious. There's not a strict dress code enforced. You can dress up or be casual. I wouldn't recommend dressing too casual but I did see people arrive in very casual outfits such jeans, knit sweaters and a santa hat.

This was our last restaurant that we had the pleasure of visiting in Canmore, and we definitely ended up saving the best for last. I chose this restaurant as the spot to celebrate my boyfriend's 30th birthday because I wanted it to be special and it definitely delivered! First off, the service at this spot is impeccable. They truly hire professional, genuine, skilled, and crafty people here who really care about food and the experience. It was very telling and we wanted to highlight that observation. Secondly, the cocktails. During our trip, we were lucky to have Josh as our bartender and not only did he truly know the ins and outs of the liquor and the ingredients that he used, you can tell that he has really perfected the craft at creating a beautifully presented cocktail, and this was already noticed by the way he cuts an orange. The cocktails here were basically like an art piece and had some of the most creative presentations I've ever seen. My cantaloupe island cocktail even had an herb popsicle in it and the after noon cocktail had mint sorbet incorporated into the presentation too, which was none like I've had before. Food-wise, they start you with a complimentary palette cleanser, which was a mini donut topped with fennel and caviar, which was exquisite and enhanced the experience. We then chose the foie gras, root salad, and mackerel as our smaller dishes and the duck and cod as our main course dishes. I swear to you.. each dish that we tried, we looked at each other in awe because we were baffled that something could taste that wonderful and look so aesthetically pleasing at the same time. Our favorite was the cod main course, which happened to be the newest menu item at the time. We also got the baked alaska for dessert since we wanted to complete the entire course, and that was beautifully presented and flavorful as well. The main chef/owner, Danny Beaulieu, and his team absolutely killed everything on this menu, and we were even able to meet with the owner and to speak with him during our visit here. It was a truly lovely experience and we are big time rooting for the restaurant's success. We are really thankful that we were able to experience Ankor and appreciate the love, care, and effort put into this spot. We will definitely see you again and hope to be back soon! :)

The wait staff was pleasant knowledgeable and accommodating. We were in a large party so we had a semi private dining area. Their specialty cocktails were great and very appealing to the eye in regard to the presentation upon delivery to the table. Very well put together flavour notes hit. The noise level in the restaurant was perfect for socializing so no complaints there. We did have a large party which probably pushed the kitchen staff a bit because some of the plating of a few dishes came out and were not complete ( 2out3 dishes came missing some plating components) when we made a comment to the waiter he went to investigate. They realized the issue and made a course correction on our bills which was appreciated. I hade the pork chops and I'll say the plating presentation was good but the quality of the the chops not so much, now I've worked in the industry in the past so I usually give a wide birth when it comes to the doneness of my proteins. But these were over cooked or seemed to have been cooked from a frozen state because they were dry as an Alberta summer. Not to mention tough and for that reason is why I'm only giving a 3 out of 5. Pork chops should be cooked through but full of juice these definitely missed the mark. The other components of the dish were great cooked proper with a perfect balance of seasoning. I'd come stop in again if I was in town but I'd probably wouldn't get the chops again.
