On a recommendation from a friend, I made a last minute appointment for a fill & polish after coming back from vacation. Never been here before. The person on the phone was very friendly and helpful. I ended up having Katrina do my nails (who happened to be the very nice person on the phone). The salon was bright & clean, and everyone was welcoming. Katrina did a great job on my nails. I just want to say what a great find Andy's is, in Canandaigua! My daughter and I walked in on a rainy Monday. While we waited, they let us sit in their excellent massage chairs. I had a pedicure - very thorough and careful job by my technician (Andy) and my daughter had a lovely color-changing gel manicure. Five stars for service and relaxing, friendly vibe! read more

To set up the story, my mom, my sister, and my cousin, and I were looking to have a girls' day and have fun since my we are all on winter break we thought it would be fun. My cousin made an appointment for the four of us a day ahead. We get there the next morning, and there is no warm welcoming, just "Okay, pick your color and sit here here here and here." The tension in the room was very high and uncomfortable, already not even 10 seconds in walking through the door. My personal experience to start was kind of scary because it was my first time getting my nails pampered and painted. She did a good job, but I noticed she didn't put a top coat to make sure the paint didn't crack. I was chill about it, though. I didn't think it was a big deal, right? So then the woman's has me sit at a drying station where there were nail shavings all over the stand. It was so gross. Then she used a gel light to dry my nails (I got polish), but I didn't think much of it. I was sitting there for 40 minutes with 2 layers of nail polish. My sister's personal experience started off uncomfortable, not much small talk or anything. The woman started off with the nail treatment bufferd too hard on her nails and made her culticul bleed. Then the women used old nail polish, so her nails still haven't dried (it's been 2 whole days). The woman asked her if she wanted glitter. My sister said, "No thanks," but put the glitter on anyway. My mom's experience is again uncomfortable. The woman who was working on my mom's nails was the owner. Keep that in mind. Mt mom just simply wanted french tips, no acrylics or anything fancy. Just plain polish with French tips. The woman got mad at my mom because she didn't want acrylics. Then the women, while painting my moms nails, said "gross hand" in a foreign language. We only know this because my cousins' parents are bilingual they can speak whatever language they were speaking (not sure which language) she regignized one of the sentences which translated to "gross hand" calling my mom's hand gross. My cousins experience was quite strange. So, to start off, the women doing her nails were very rude until she found out my cousin was in her 20s with 2 kids. Then she stopped treating her like a 16 year old. My cousin looks very young for her age, but that still does not make an excuse. Then her nails were done, and they were $50 and meant to tip $20, but her two $20 were stuck together and tipped $40. So we later relise and after leaving go back in and they say they don't have it even though right after my cousin tipped I watched her count her money. After my mom and sister finished up, they rushed us right out while my mom and sisters' nails were still wet. We will for sure never be going back. read more

I have tried every nail salon in Canandaigua and Andy's wins hands down. My nails look great, they last. They don't overly rush but some of the nail artists are fast. The pedicure chairs are newer and the salon has a nice ambiance. They have a lot of colors to choose from. Both gel and regular. They love it when you bring cash but they do take cards. PRO TIP: Always tip anyone and everyone in cash. If you don't, they get double taxed on card transactions for tip. read more

Well... we had an appointment for two at 1:30 and we showed up 10 minutes early. When we got there we could tell they were behind so we asked to go shopping and when we should be back when they were available. They said it will only be 15 min longer yet it was 25 mintyes before they put us in a chair with our feet in the water for 35 min and tried to move on to other customers. When we tried to leave to go somewhere else, they insisted they could do our nails first yet they rushed and did a terrible job on my friends nails and my nails got ruined before they finished. Their service was rude and they laughed at us multiple times. Never going again. Waste of my money. read more

This is my 3rd visit recently to this nail salon when I have not been able to get a pedicure. I have used this business previously and been very satisfied. First time they were all busy... understandable. Second visit I was asked to come back in 30 minutes because there was no available staff and the place was empty except for 2 women getting their nails done. On my third visit today there were 2 women sitting in pedicure chairs but no one was doing their pedicure yet. A nail technician was at a station putting away her products. I waited for over 5 minutes without the technician even acknowledging me. No other technicians appeared. I don't know what has happened here but there is certainly a problem. read more

I would not recommend this salon for a pedicure. They did not do what I asked, and instead charged me for a much more expensive pedicure service. The tech did not apply the color correctly and when I had my next service at a different salon, they had to almost sandblast it off. When questioned at the end about the increased cost they said they thought I had indicated the more expensive service, although I was very clear.about which one I requested. This is my go-to nail salon and I love the staff so much. I'm only coming here to rate today because there is one staff member who has absolutely no business doing acrylic sets. This is the second time she's messed up my full set so bad to the point I want to take them off at home. She doesn't know what nail shapes are which, which is a concerning question to be asked once you recite what you would like. I have so much glue and residue all over my fingers, a lot of my nail isn't covered by the acrylic, so much is uneven and warped, some of my cuticles are red and in pain...just a really bad experience with her in particular. I'm planning on going back to getting her work fixed for the second time by someone with some experience. The two experiences were almost 8 months apart, so I'm hoping no others have this much unsatisfactory outcomes. Please, keep her on manicures and away from the acrylic because my fingers hurt and this was suppose to be a nice birthday set after not having any nails for a few months! read more

was there for an hour and a half for only a regular basic pedicure. then when i went to pay, i was asked by another coworker who didn't even do my nails "well how much are you going to tip her?" and when i responded, they said "oh...that's all?" even though it was more than 25%. on top of that i now have an infection in my toe from the tools used and being stabbed in the same spot over an over for no reason. service wasnt great at all, but the pedicure itself turned out average i guess. after talking about my experience with friends, they all had similar experiences and said they aren't returning. good place for last minute bookings though.. read more

Tried out Andy Nails for a change. I usually go to Lindseys but was looking for somewhere bigger and more ventilated. Andy Nails is huge, there is many manicure and pedicure stations, and the staff is very friendly and easy to understand. I got the most wonderful manicure before a vacation, the same price as Lindseys without the strong fumes and cramped feel. My nail tech (I don't remember her name) looked like she would rather be somewhere else but she was very nice and friendly and did an awesome job on my acrylics. And they take credit cards!!!!!! I had an experience that was most unpleasant. I placed a call and made an appointment to get a manicure with overlay, i also wanted my eyebrows waxed. I had plenty of cash and was prepared to pay for good quality and friendly service but what i got was horrible treatment. It was on Saturday but i waited two days to let the very negative effect this visit had on me and how it tried to ruin my weekend. Anyway without belaboring too much, the person who "took care of me" was Katrina. She was rushing, had snippy attitude, wouldnt listen to my request, would allow me to pick my colors, argued with me, threatened me. Also, there were customers there who heard the exchange. She was so nasty I almost walked out without paying and actuality came after me like she was going to grab me. I did pay, and would never not pay for services rendered but at the same time she was most unpleasant. I told them i would leave feedback, they said go ahead we dont care. I also said i would never come there again, they said you don't have to we don't care. I went to Andy Nails to get a standard pedicure and full set for my wedding and I was extremely disappointed. As someone who never writes reviews, especially bad ones, I debated on writing this but I don't want anyone else to have the same experience. At first things started off fine and my tech was friendly but as we started to talk more he became too friendly. He made many inappropriate comments while doing my pedicure making me feel extremely uncomfortable. When he heard that I was getting married in two days he kept talking about how I was about to be locked down with one man and how I needed to have fun while I could (including with him). Without going into too much detail, he also made comments about me having long legs as another example. After each comment he kept saying he was just joking but he kept going and laughing about it. With that said, he did fine on the pedicure but when we moved to the manicure, I had to have him wipe off four designs before I ended up just walking out of the salon with plain white nails with the other techs asking me why I didn't choose something nicer for my wedding. I brought multiple pictures with me and showed him what colors I wanted. After he proceeded to paint bright neon flowers, pink squiggles and random glitter designs after each attempt to get closer to the elegant wedding nails I wanted, I gave up. I felt bad and like I was being very picky but he was so far off the mark and I couldn't have any of those nails in the wedding photos I paid so much money for. Additionally another tech made one of bridesmaids fingers bleed twice and kept making her feel as if it were her fault. My other bridesmaid was basically told that she wasn't leaving without having her eyebrows waxed when she really didn't want it done in the first place. After leaving we all stopped in the parking lot in disbelief of what we had just experienced. I won't be going back. read more

I got serviced here 2 days ago and I hesitated writing a review because I never do but it was such a terrible experience. I went with my sister for her bridal shower this weekend and once the nail techs heard us talking wedding and that my sister was the bride they switched for our manicures. I'm assuming they were well aware the tech who ended up doing my dip powder instead of my sisters did not know how to do them and figured it would not be an issue because I was not the bride. As you can see my cuticles are scabbed since she did the power so messily she used the electric filer over my cuticles and made me bleed. The worst part is that she kept using her tools on my bloody fingers then moved on to her next client with the same tools without sanitizing them at all, I made sure to watch. My nails have weird striations, they are too thick & bumpy and she also was VERY sloppy on the shaping. The tech never told me her name so unless you have been recommended a certain nail tech by a friend that you trust do not go here. read more

I have been an Andy's nail goer for a few years. I love the staff and the environment and I truly would never say anything bad about them until now. I went in to get a full set of acrylic's. As she was cutting the length of the "tips" she didn't even give me a chance to choose the length, she just cut them so quickly without asking in time. My nails ended up being almost the same length as my natural nails... Onto the filing part, she filed down my nails a little too hard and actually made my pinky skin split a bit, making it bleed. The tech just seemed a little upset and I totally felt rushed. I appreciate this business and will continue going, maybe I just need to be more clear next time. read more

Was visiting from out of town and had Horrible service! Don't even bother making an appointment, they mean nothing. They ask you if you want this or that but don't tell you those things cost $5 to $10 each. The charges are not on the list on the wall by the door either so you have no way of knowing until you check out. Will never go back! read more

Extremely clean & friendly. A clean plastic sheet is put into the pedicure tub for everyone. My manicure lasted for much more than 8 or 9 days. I thought the price was just fine. Granted it's more than I pay in Houston, but there is a lot of computation with a nail salon on every corner there. This has been my go to place this summer while we're in Canandaigua. read more

I've been here 3 different times. Each employee works differently and at a different pace. I've only had 2 problems with this salon. The most recent time I have visited I wanted a gel mani/pedi. It took 2 and a half hours to finish with no waiting for an open nail tech! It was taking so long it got to the point where I had to ask the nail tech to stop fixing them because I had to get to work. The other problem I had, the previous 2 times I've come in I've asked for gel acrylics and gel pedicure, total came to $80. However the most recent time I went about a month later for just a gel mani/pedi on my natural nails was ALSO $80? Very expensive. It is a very clean salon and they have great customer service, I feel they need to adjust their prices. read more
