I wish I could give Dr. Dreyer and his office more then 5 stars! While I was under the care of another local dentist, it was basically told to me that my only option was dentures. I was so scared! I was also upset with myself that I allowed my teeth to get so bad. I left crying. I went home and further researched my options. I found Dr. Andrew Dreyer on google and called his office to set up an appt. for a consultation. Three days later I met with Stacy (Treatment Coordinator) to go over what I would like to see happen. She shared with me that they would be able to meet my wishes. I was ECSTATIC! When I went for my procedure I was a little scared, but knew I was in good hands. Everyone in the office was extremely nice and very caring. Dr. Dreyer was very professional and gentle. Almost 0 pain!!! A little tender, but with all the work Dr. Dreyer had to do I expected that. All I can say is "Why didn't I do this sooner?!" Fast forward to 7 months later... I am able to take my grand babies to school and smile big!! Having gum surgery is not fun; however, it is necessary sometimes to keep your teeth healthy Dr. Dreyer was AMAZING!! He is exceptionally knowledgeable and his many years of expertise resulted in PERFECT work on my gums. His bedside manner is calm, kind and compassionate. Dr. Dreyer's office staff is so friendly and nice. The office is immaculately clean. His assistant was very kind and helpful. Check your billing very carefully as this Dentist will charge fees that are not fair. Great staff, the ladies do a great job.

I would not give any stars if I could. This place is all about money with little or no regard for the patient. Warning: Have them put in writing how much it will be for everything before you agree to the procedure. Apparently, spoken words don't count here. Everything gets changed up halfway through and then you're stuck having to keep going back to finish with a bill that is 3 times what it should be. As others have said on here "check your billing" which means this is his method of operation. Wish I'd never gone in the first place. Terrible unfinished work and now I don't have enough to pay someone else to finish it. read more

I was referred to Dr. Dreyer's office by my primary dentist due to my gum issues. He evaluated my needs and we came up with a game plan of deep cleaning as preventative measure before surgery. I asked what the odds were to avoid surgery and he was honest and sincere. Well after 4 quadrants have been cleaned I have avoided the need for surgery! The whole office was excited for my progress. My sister went in because of two blisters her gums possibly caused by a surgical instrument. He took 1500.00 so he could cut out the bone on either side of her mouth. She could relax with the ineffectual medication he gave her. Called me into the room and said I'm through your sisters through. He didn't do anything Kept her money and told her to leave. She then scheduled an apt with a specialist in Newport Beach and he said just wait their blisters and will fall off. They did and no charge. read more

While I realize every patient has different needs, I've appreciated his conservative approach and recommendation to let preventive care maximize my gum health. His hygienist goes to great lengths to give me a thorough cleaning, which includes observation and documentation of measurements and tissue health. I have complete confidence that Dr. Dreyer is a great periodontist and after meeting with him, I felt comfortable and was ready to schedule the procedures he recommended that I receive. After deciding that it would be prudent to do a pre-authorization with my insurance company, I received my explanation of benefits and my insurance would only pay their portion of a max of $285 out of the $365 that Dr. Dreyer's office wanted to charge me for the service. (That price is per quadrant of my mouth, so multiply it by 4 for the total price of service.) When I spoke with his office staff, I told them that I would schedule it if they would accept the max price that my insurer pays. The reply was basically, that is not our policy, so you can pay the $365 (times 4 equals $1,460) or find another provider. I felt that his staff sounded personally offended when I suggested that I wouldn't pay the $365 per quadrant, but would agree to the $285. So, I won't be having my procedure with this office. I'm surprised by this because this is work that the hygienist would be doing, not Dr. Dreyer. I guess that they have so much business that they can refuse mine. Now it's time to find another dentist. read more

I had a different oral surgeon who was going to pull one tooth that I had been waiting three years to have done. That office said I needed to have a blood test to see if my protein levels were correct since I had shots of Prolia for osteoporosis. He made me wait nine months for another test. Things went awry and I ended not being able to go back to this oral surgeon. I asked my DDS for another referral and Dr. Dreyer was chosen. He is much younger than their first choice and I feel that is an advantage in knowing what is current in the field of medicine.Within one week of my consultation, I had my tooth pulled and was on the road to recovery. I started to see Dr. Dreyer about a month ago due to the fact that I had some gum problems. Not only did he treat me for that & did an awesome job, his hygienist did a cleaning for me & was fantastic! Dr. Dreyer also was acknowledged that I needed my wisdom teeth out before I proceeded with my orthodontist treatment. He did my extractions of my wisdom teeth & it went really well. Four days later after my procedure I got a dry pocket and I called the office & they allowed me to go in right away & treated me right away. Over all this office is amazing. Very clean.. staff was amazing, very friendly & always making sure your comfortable & taken care of! Well, I am new in Bakersfield and have some gum problems. I knew i need to have deep cleaning as I did that procedure before. I was looking on the internet and found Dr. Dreyer. Making an appointment was easy and probably minimum time of waiting. But, what I didn't like? Everything was perfect until that moment when they started to check my gum pockets. I had really bad bleeding and told them about it. They didn't say anything but checking. Obviously as you know, when they do measurements everything start to bleed and its all mixing which your saliva. In normal dental practices they'll use something which suck everything out, or you can rinse with water. But here hygienist just told me to SWALLOW it, how disgusting. OMG, I couldn't eat or drink anything all day that day. As I remember that. the last one was they told me maybe I have valley fever, or my immune system not good and they recommend me treatment which cost about $2500. They said will be using special camera to do deep cleaning so its why so expensive. Thank you, but I checked with other clinic and with the camera it costs me about $600. Even if there will be one this clinic I would rather not go there. Its not review for dr Dreyer, but because its his office I think he is responsible what hygienist do to the patients and why they lost one. Thank you. read more
