Excel Dental at 3400 Calloway I cant believe what I went through!!! SERIOUSLY! I spent 3 days worrying about going to the dentist! I had not been in years!! I am OLD and been through many dentist in my life, so I was ready for more bad treatment, more horrible pain, and suffering after I got home. I G O T N O N E O F T H A T!! I feel cheated!! All that worry for nothing!! NO Grumpy front desk, No snobby back room help, NO Dentist in a HURRY and NO, WE don't care about YOU!!! What the heck! Front desk absolutely made me feel welcome and calm. Gave me the clipboard to fill out typical documentation. They were helpful with insurance questions. It was so easy!! How could that be!! Never happened before!! NEVER in my 75 years of being on this planet have I had a dentist visit so actually enjoyable!! I will move on to the Dentist himself. His demeanor was so calm that it took my anxiety and threw it out the window. He had me feeling like I knew everything was going to be alright.......and it WAS!! I knew I was getting a Root Canal, and everything I ever heard about that is that it was gonna be really painful!! I want you to know, I felt absolutely NO PAIN AT ALL!! It didnt take hours, it was pretty quick actually. After it was over all I could think was WOW!!! My heart rate only went up 2 beats per minute (yes I checked my watch!) Thats nothing! I have another Root Canal coming up soon, and I am not stressed at all! I am ready. This Dentist KNOWS what he is doing!! I believe the tech that helped the dentist with my procedure this time was Emily! She was so kind and calm. She kept me focused so I wouldn't worry. She did a great job. She was ON IT when the Dr needed anything!! Fantastic! I want you to know that EVERYONE working there treat you with kindness and respect. Lala who talks to you about the finances and expenses that are not covered. She works hard to explain the options you have to you can get your work done and not stress!! Please if you are considering finding a new dentist, I wholeheartedly suggest you give Excel Dental a try. I hope if you do you will leave feeling like is was a good experience. All I can say is Dr Trinh is an amazing dentist. I have been to multiple dentists in town and every one of them had problems getting me fully numb for a procedure. But not Dr Trinh . He is very skilled and gentle , got me numb immediately with no problem and I never even felt the shots. His work is excellent and I'm so grateful that I've found a dentist that I no longer feel scared to go see . If you are a patient with high anxiety , this is the office for you . When you go to the back and EVERYONE says hi to you by name and with a smile, it's better. But when you are asked questions about your family and family experiences that are going on in your life that either you or one of your family has mentioned to them (e.g. when does ____ (using my son's name) leave to the Air Force camp?, How is ____ and _____ (using names of my daughter and her 8 month old son), "so _____ (grandson's name) is 8 months now, right??, Tell ____ (husband's name) [message] that the Raiders [whatever message is]...).... I've been coming to Excel Dental for a few years now and even after I permanently moved away to SD, I still continue to come to Excel. I visit family often so I like to schedule my appointments around the same time and I honestly have never felt the need to look for a dentist where I currently live. Although it would be more convenient, I just feel comfortable and trust the work that is being done, so as long as I'm coming into town I will continue to go to Excel. I've gotten my cleanings, fillings, and wisdom teeth pulled out here and I have never had a bad experience. Dr. Trinh is really great at explaining everything and is thorough in his work. I've been going to MaryBeth for my regular cleanings and she is amazing! Super friendly and will make the time go by so fast. The staff here is friendly and professional. I am pleased to report that I had almost no visible swelling and there wasn't any bruising! That's how to tell if they were gentle while you were "under."And this man was a PRINCE! Dr. Trinh at Excel Dental is my new forever dentist! Everyone in the office is excellent: warm & friendly but very skilled. I Went to Trinh (after what I have been through I can't call him a DR.) few years back I went to Excel Dental for 2 implants, biggest mistake of my life. Let me be clear I only went to Trinh for the implants, I have a dentist that I use for everything else. After the implant work was completed I started having problems, I went back to see Trinh and he said I wasn't cleaning them correctly. So I went to my dentist about the problem and first thing he said was WOW and asked who did this. I asked what was the problem and he stated that they were to close and the back was put in at a angle and not straight. Every dentist and Hygienist all ask me how do I floss because of this problem, Its not easy believe me, they have all tried to give me ideas on how to floss. I went to Trinh. he did the Implants and told him this and he told that everyone has there own way of looking at x-rays and that mine are in straight and correct and showed me x-rays of straight implants (wow). I have been to 6 Different dentist and 1 periodontist, I seen all the x-rays with the angled implant and all the comments from all the other Drs. about how bad this is. Trinh has shone me x-ray of someone else implants stating that they are mine and that my implants and are in straight. The last time I was in he told me that another patient of his had been in complaining of the same thing and he showed me what looked to be the same x-rays he had shown me to be mine. I have had to see another periodontist to have a infection removed at the cost of a $2000.00 and saw Trinh after that but he stated it wasn't because of his work. And I now have another Infection and will probably to have one of implants removed to correct this problem Trinh give me, that will cost a few more thousand dollars. So do yourself a favor save your money, pain and suffering and find yourself a honest Periodontist. read more

This Dentist office is very nice and clean it is in a great location. When I first entered the Lobby I was politely greeted and check in the waiting room is very fresh and clean and they have free bottles of water in a clean fridge. I didn't have to wait long at all to be called back for my work that had to be done on my mouth. The hygienist was very professional and polite once I entered the work room it was also very clean and neat and orderly and fresh after she preformed my cleaning I had to have some other work done the Dr came in he is very professional and tells the truth about your mouth and the work that needs to be preformed. He preformed the work on my mouth in a slow painless quality work manner. I recommend this office the Dr is able to preform all types of work you are not sent out on a referral except if you needs braces they don't do this here. They are not in it for the money and this Dr doesn't make up things about your mouth so you have to pay more he gets the job done I will be defiantly returning for work in the future. Trinh in the nineties at an HMO.  After he left and several bad experiences at this HMO, I did everything I could to find him and was happy when I finally located him in his own practice. He explains every procedure in detail; is compassionate, ensures I am comfortable, not in pain during the many procedures I've had done and delivers quality work.   His assistant Patty is so in tune with the doctor, anticipates his next move and is ready to hand him whatever he needs.  Mary Beth, the hygienist, and the entire staff are also professional and very personable.  The latter is very important as dental visits can be quite scary for some people.  Thanks dr. Honestly I don't think there are words to describe just how thankful I am for the staff at Excel Dental! They got me in on an urgent matter on a Friday when I was beyond desperate for help! From start to finish everyone was so helpful, informative and caring. What I though was going to be an "easy" fix turned into something that was way more in depth which caused me to be terrified and the staff was very understanding. Dr. Trinh was honest, gentle and only wanted what was best for me and gave me each and every possible option! I usually go to this dentist. I need to bring my daughter in for tooth pain. I was pretty sure she needed at least a crown. I asked for an appointment that was early enough so she could get the crown started the same day. Well they did see her and said she needed a crown. But then they could not do it that day. He had to many other patients and the person before her needed more work done. Idk. I was very upset. I made this appointment for the sole purpose of getting the crown done. I took time off of work.
