Dr. Koh is the best oral surgeon in town. I have friends who come from out of town because they only trust Dr Koh. My dental problem was so complicated my regular dentist did not think anything could be done but Dr Koh did such an amazing job, I now have full function and can eat anything. My experience was that I received excellent care from Dr. Koh and his staff, including Dee and Carla in the treatment area and Sara, Leilani, and Ruby at the front desk area. Not only are they thoroughly professional and knowledgeable, they have such a pleasant and reassuring attitude. They answer any questions and concerns while ensuring that there is relatively no discomfort during any procedure necessary. DO. NOT. GO. HERE. I went into this office for an emergency and they said they needed to do "3 rounds of xrays" which came out to $800!!! They didn't go over the pricing of the xrays, which I assumed would have been max, $300. This is absolutely asinine and they didn't relay why they had to retake 2 of the 3 xrays, yet I was still charged. When they told me it would be $13k UPFRONT to fix my teeth, I said I couldn't pay that upfront, and they verbatim said "Okay you can pay up front for your exam" and walked out of the room. No other care or instructions were given. They don't give a fuck about your teeth - just your money. read more

His office manager does not do anything good at all for this office. It seems to me that it's all about the money with this office. Rude customer service. I had been referred to get my wisdom teeth removed. Called them and set the appointment to have my consultation and surgery done same day. Back to back. The month in between me making said appointment and it happening they called me atleast 4 times to get my insurance/insurance phone number. The night before my appointment they call me to tell me they had no luck reaching either one of my insurances so if I still want to come it'll be out of pocket. I decide to push back the consultation and reach out to my insurance my self. When I asked to make the surgery appointment she said there was no way she could...but she did the first time??? I cancelled completely and called my insurance. Took me 2 minutes to get a hold of someone and get a referral to one I'm covered under. read more

I have never been treated so rudely at a Bakersfield business before today. The front office girl and the wife of the dentist are two of the most unprofessional, rude, and condescending persons I have ever had the misfortune to meet. To be specific would take too long to explain. Suffice to say they were way out-of-line with their demands. Yes, she, the wife, after the front-office girl went to get her, demanded that I submit to their wishes or I could leave, which I did. If there were no stars id give this. Surprisingly, I was referred to this office, little did I know what I was getting into. This place is GREED and BAD customer service. First off my insurance is great covers mostly everything, but this is not the point. This place somehow wants to charge me extra for an X-ray that was already done by my referral. That's what referrals are FOR! Well I told them why basically miscommunication on their part, lazy assistants who don't want to look up X-rays, when asked why an extra charge for X-ray was cause they "thought" I didn't have one why would I be referred without one. My husband had to have four molars extracted, so he was referred to Dr. Koh by our dentist. Overall, the experience was pretty good. We waited about 30 minutes before my husband was back in a room. We were in his office for about three hours in total. The staff was friendly and helped me walk my husband out to the car when they were done. My husband was having a little trouble and pain with one side of his mouth after office hours. So, we contacted Dr. Koh and he was helpful to assure him that it was not something to worry about and instructed him about what he could do over the weekend to be more comfortable until he was able to be seen the next business day. read more

I have had 3 implants from Dr. Koh so far, with more scheduled for the near future. I highly recommend him if you are in need of dental implants or other work within his scope. I have had good experiences all the way around - from his office staff, assistants, and with Dr. Koh himself. He has always explained the procedures and told me what to expect. He works well with my dentist. I did have a couple of questions regarding the various items that were billed for the procedures, but after discussing it with them, I am very satisfied with how well they took care of me. Implants are a very complicated process, but Dr. Koh is very prudent in his approach. For example, rather than try and put in the implants and crowns quickly (some implant centers say they can do the work in just one or two visits) Dr. Koh makes sure each of the 3 steps in the process (extraction and bone graft, installing the implant, and getting the replacement tooth - the crown - made and installed) are timed so that the proper healing and strength of the implant is assured. With the cost of implants, the last thing I want is for one of the steps to go wrong. My current implants are great, and I have peace of mind knowing that they were done correctly. I did have the work done under sedation, but I was surprised that the pain after extraction and bone graft was minimal. They also checked during follow-ups that I was healing properly. I would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Koh to friends and family. read more

All staff that was there was very friendly and very courteous. I was referred by my dentist in Delano Dr. Del Los Reyes. My dentist words were "he's my friend and he'll take good care of you." I have to agree on those words Dr Stanley Koh did just that. I wasn't in the office that long. In and out in about an hour, I think the procedure was literally 30 minutes. I'm 18 and still getting around to being use to adult matters, and my mom took me to Dr. Koh's since it was one of the two referred Oral Surgeons by my family's primary dentist. Least to say I would recommend not coming here. The employees were nice but that was about it, for we waited an inexcusable amount of time even after I had been called to be seen. First I was taken to get an X-Ray which was pretty quick, but found it weird because I had taken them a month prior. Then they called me into an examining room, in which one of the receptionist sat there trying to figure out our insurance paperwork (Which should be done before we showed up...)? While also searching for and examining BOTH X-Rays (last months and new), we had to move out into the lobby at a desk because our exam room was needed. Then we had to wait for Doctor Koh to finish whatever he was doing so he could come talk to me about preparing and dealing with wisdom teeth removal. He is the only reason there is 2 stars, because it seemed like he really knew what he was talking about. He left after he finished briefing me, in which the same receptionist came back to talk about the insurance billing and whatever. She pointed out that they were charging us 100-ish dollars right there for the X-Ray..?! Isn't that was referrals are for? So you don't have to go through this? I could see the anger build on my moms face and in her voice. She took my brother to a different Oral Surgeon and they were in and out in 15 minutes. Our scheduled appointment nearly reached an hour and a half. I highly do not recommend this office, just for the mere unorganized mess the place is. read more

I was referred to Dr. Koh by my dentist for a nasty wisdom tooth removal. I had developed a huge phobia of dentists and it took having the tooth abscess for me to call. Dr. Koh took his time to explain to me what he was going to do and put me at ease. His staff was awesome as well. Everyone I met was very professional. When I called back again more than a week later I finally got a hold of someone just to receive TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE from both the receptionist and office manager. This Dr. Is awesome, my husband ha a fear of dentists and had been letting a tooth hurt him for a while, well unfortunately on the way out of town while passing through Bakersfield, his tooth was just unbearable, so he called several dentists and no one would get him in. This office was so accommodating, reasonably priced considering my husband was using the IV sedation, they didn't "rape" us like most places on the cost. Plus they got us in quickly and were so nice! It is well worth the drive for us if he needs to go back and have more teeth extracted! read more

I am a retired registered dental assistant. I recently went to Dr. Koh for a lower extraction. He failed to tinject me with the usual mandibular nerve block to deaden the tooth, and only injected the soft tissue around the tooth. It was a very painful extraction!!! read more
