I am writing this review , not on their billing proceedures or office staff so much, as just the actual dentist or in this case Prosthodontist, Dr. Craig seemed a little cold and quiet, informed me of 3 teeth a former dentist, who saw some cavities, and told me they were doing a bridge $19k, and let the 3 teeth with cavities alone, now are too far gone,, anyway, Dr. Craig informed me , this is true, i will loose them. So i just asked him to please fill the cavities he saw on exrays. He did this, no issues, don't think he liked me much, or just did not care to show any interest in me as a patient, but he did a good job, on fillings. He had another Dr. In office, for implants, which i was in need of implants on a few teeth, and started with this other Dr. P. who was AMAZING, did a bone graf, and will be finishing my implant, but he has left Dr.Craigs office and opened his own. Dr. Craigs office girls up front are ok, and seem not to care either way, as long as i paid up front before the visit for the visit, as i am cash. they made a mold for a essex Retainer, to wear duing bone healing, and the essex was so poorly fitting, covered my front teeth barely cutting into my gums, couldn't speak with it in. I just explained this to office, they said i could come back have a mold made an new, but decided, this was not the office for me. Long drive, and nothing wonderful or caring feeling about this office. His former associated Dr. P,,, i can not say enough GOOD things about and he is going to try to save one of the teeth Dr. Craig said is beyond repair, yet it is in, not loose and not painful so just giving me hope, is enough to gain my health and happiness, so, Dr. Parhik will be my Periodontist and IMPLANT dr. forever! and his new office is so much closer to me in Sparks also. read more

Staff are always happy and helpful. The office is clean and bright. All the hygienists are super nice and friendly. They are top notch in terms of care. They don't rush through anything and talk you through anything they're doing. They truly connect with you to learn more about you...and they remember. We've gone for cleanings and had some X-rays done. They've even squeezed me in for a concern I had for pain in my tooth to make sure it wasn't anything serious. A very disappointing, expensive and difficult time-consuming experience dealing with Dr. Craig! He is dismissive, rushed and accepted no responsibility for the discomfort and color of teeth in the new denture and flipper. His standard quick reply was more time and visits to correct. After several weeks I resorted to using my original denture in order to comfortably eat again. A request for a partial refund was not negotiable. I would not in good faith recommend Dr. Craig! read more

Dr. Andresen, is perhaps the best dentist I've ever had. He did my upper denture several years ago, and it's still perfect. I'm 73. Yeah, I've had a few dentists in my lifetime. He is highly skilled, caring, and he listens to you when you speak of your needs and concerns. The office staff, and his dental assistants are as nice as you could ever want. I had an extraction today- it was unexpected, but necessary, and I was surprised at how fast these new high tech anesthetics work. It was done, and I went home- no real pain, and I couldn't be more pleased. I highly recommend them! read more

2024- Nothing but great things to say! Dr. and staff were nothing short of perfessional and clearly cared about their patients well being. 2025- Last week my disabled father came in to have a bridge test fitted (this was visit 3 of 5) upon checking in the gal at the front advised him that his insurance only covered $1000 of the $1393 procedure. He was told that if he did not make a payment he could not go to his appointment. When I called I was told that he chose to leave. (This was a lie) I was told that the front desk girl has been fired since that incident. She said they would be willing to set up a payment plan. We rescheduled his appointment for today. I was told they did a pre auth in December but that his plan changed in Jan. Well the problem with that is there is no way his insurance would've approved it since he had used all but $28 on his denture work. I was told today that was also a lie. Nobody did a pre auth because it is no longer something Dr. Andresen requires his staff to do. We both walked in this afternoon and I was greated by the new billing lady (nobody would tell me her name) who said oh I made a payment arrangement I think you will like. I explained that my father is quite upset that he has a bill at all. He was under the impression you guys did a pre auth. She explained to me that they do not do pre auths unless it is requested by the patient. She said they only bill insurance as a courtesy. I let her know that he did request a pre auth from the last lady that worked there with the long hair. She replied "yeah I know who it is but she was fired" I said well that's unfortunate because she was always on top of things for her patients. To which I got an eye roll. My father has come up there by this point and is pleading his case. He's explaining that he's on food stamps, on ss (makes $997 a month). Explaining how he doesn't have anything extra to give and had he known there would be a $397 balance he would've waited to start this procedure until he could pay for it. She is explaining that it is his job to verify his insurance and that they would never do a pre auth. I personally have never heard of this but ok let's say that is the normal for 2025 in this specific practice how is the patient supposed to know that their policy has changed from a few months before? I didn't see any notices posted. My father was never given an estimate for the cost of the bridge. I dropped the ball on checking his benefits but Dr. dropped the ball because 1: no pre auth and 2: no estimate was provided. I had said there is no point on going back and forth and all you are doing is blaming the previous staff, let's stop that and come up with a solution. At that point my father is telling her he's a honest man and he wants to do what's right etc. And she rolls her eyes and says "cool" in a condescending way. At that point I say ok enough of the disrespect and quit being a b word. I have worked in the medical field for many years and understand how frustrating patients can be however it's your job as a medical professional to provide peace. I would NEVER allow my employees to treat another human the way my father was treated by this person. We spoke to Dr. Andresen and asked him if he would wave the $393. He said no. I asked him if he would split it with us since his staff dropped the ball on the pre auth and didn't give us a quote, and I dropped the ball by not checking how much my father's benefits were. He said I don't know because everyone thinks I make all this money and in reality I don't. I take a very small margin. My father shook his hand and asked him to think about what he could do and to get back to us. I did apologize for using the B word. That is very out of character for me. It's very hard to watch someone degrade, be condescending, and roll their eyes at your parent over and over again. It's no excuse. Here is to hoping they do the right thing. Please be aware that this practice is not interested in the patient's well being any longer. I feel like if a business is willing to say "we do not do pre auths, unless requested" it is a huge red flag. It almost feels like they are setting you up for failure and then you have no choice to pay or you won't get your teeth. It feels dirty to me. Now my father is having knee surgery in 2 weeks. He's not going to be mobile for quite awhile. Not only will he have to deal with recovery but no teeth on the bottom as well! Back in 2024 when we started his dental plan, Dr. sat down with us and created a battle plan so my father could get all these procedures done! He was so amazing! We felt so blessed to finally find someone who cared so much about his patients. The last lady who did all the pre auths, literally worked hand in hand with Dr. and they laid out everything. I hate to leave this review..I really do. I also hate change. Coming from California, I had a dentist that I saw for 45 years, basically from the moment he opened his office. We moved here 4 years ago, and my dentist gave us the Andresen referral as one or both them went to the same dental school. This practice has done ok for my husband and myself. I cannot say they were super friendly..but they were perfunctory. They got the job done..until I had a true dental emergency, the first in my entire life. I called on Thursday getting their recording that someone would call me back. I had sudden almost debilitating tooth/gum pain on a rear molar that kept me awake thru the night on Wednesday. I couldn't even touch my gum. I waited for the call..but crickets. They are not open on Fridays or weekends. But..they have an emergency number. GREAT!!! But every time I called I got a user busy and hang up. I tried like 50 times. So, my guess is is it is not a good number or no longer in use. Beautiful..Come Saturday morning I am now desperate. I looked on the internet and found a practice with amazing reviews, a way to actually reach a Doctor in an emergency and open Fridays and Saturdays. I took a gamble and called them at 8:30 and they took me at 9am. Diagnosed with an abscess , given antibiotics and unfortunately the tooth was pulled on Tuesday. I am positive I would still be waiting with the Andresen practice to even be seen. The new practice I am with has a welcoming feel, happy employees and embrace you as a patient and really want to help someone who needs it. I am sorry that this practice is not for me..but they are now not even in the rear view mirror. read more

I have not had a good experience with this dental office. I have given them lots of chances and had nothing but issues both with the care and dealing with the office staff. The last time I was there dr. Craig shrugged his shoulders when I asked him what he thinks could be wrong. My periodontist went ahead and took off the crown that Dr. Craig made for me and everything is fine. I gave them over 12k for work that does not function properly. When I had a dental emergency and made it clear I couldn't eat until something was done, they told me I needed to wait two weeks for an appointment. I called during normal business hours, with hours left until they closed, made it clear I couldn't eat without pain, and they refused to see me. I would need to wait two weeks, but they would put me on the cancellation list. No thanks. I never imagined a medical professional would treat a patient this way. Absolutely shameful. read more

Doctor Allison is a very good dentist and I would recommend her for any dental work, no matter how difficult. I'm 77 and my teeth have taken a toll over the years, between moving all over California in the last 60 years, using different dentist and finally ending up in Reno. I went to a dentist in the North Valley and I was thinking about having implants replace my existing teeth. I had several crowns over the years, my front bottom teeth was discolored and I grind them at night and they were wearing down to the point that they were sensitive to hot and cold. When I had my initial appointment with Dr Allison she asked me what I wanted to accomplish. I told her I wanted my teeth to be uniform, a nice smile and wanted to be able to eat an apple, corn on the cob without having any problems. So I was thinking about implants. She thought that she would do crowns instead of implants, because my existing teeth were healthy and strong. I had several crowns and a couple of bridges and she suggested that crowns instead of implants. It would cost about the same, so I agreed and glad I did. My teeth look nice and natural, it was a lot of work , she and her assistant were very professional and attentive to my needs. read more

First of all I just moved here from south Florida, I went to Reno/Tahoe oral surgery (what a rip off) to have a consult for an implant ( which they cage me over $500 for a consultation. Anyway they made an appointment at the cosmetic dentist for me. So the next week I go to my consult at Andresen. Well low and behold their office was closed. I've been going to this office for more than 10 years, back when it was Dr. Powning (who has since retired). Twice now this office has saved me from having unnecessary work done. When I first visited them after a friend recommended it, I had just seen a dentist who said I needed 6 cavities filled. I saw Dr. Powning and staff for a second opinion, and discovered that I didn't have any cavities. Last year I had an insurance plan that made me go to a different dentist. That dentist recommended root planing and said I had infected gums, tooth decay, and bone loss. I thought maybe something fishy was up, so declined to have the procedure done until I got a second opinion. Was referred to Dr. Andresen for Crowns-I needed 6 Crowns, from Canine to Canine on the top, so the 6 most visible teeth in a mouth. I also had a gap between the front two teeth that I requested be 'closed' with the new Crowns. I was concerned I might have 'horse teeth' based upon the gap needing to be fixed. Simply put--AMAZING work. They look great; they look natural. I wanted to point out that his Assistant, Maria, was also fantastic and very professional. The front office staff were wonderful as well. I just cannot say how thrilled I am with the entire experience. I've had teeth/gum issues for 25 years now, and have everything from cleanings, to fillings, to extractions, to root canals/crowns, to crown lengthening, to implants, and now this. The 'Dentist' and staff that performed my three implants was formerly the best 'dental experience' I'd ever had; Dr. Andresen and his 'team' just topped it.
