I had an emergency appointment due to me breaking a tooth while eating a carrot, called them and they called me back same day even when they were doing a training for their staff. They got me in and examined the area affected and I did have to get referred out due to the issue I was having but they took care of all of that for me. The office is extremely well kept, very homey, and they have a beautiful studio. I'm terrified of dentist offices due to a traumatic experience when I was a minor and they made sure I knew everything that they were saying and walked me through everything. Dr. Jones and Cassie her dental assistant were absolutely amazing and didn't judge me or belittle me for not being to a dentist in several years. I'm beyond thankful I found this place because of yelp. The decor - It feels like you're in a clean indie hipster coffee house that should have a person with an acoustic guitar playing folk music on a tiny stage in the corner. This is one of the best dental visits I've ever had. And it was an emergency! While visiting Reno for a week for work and I had a dental emergency. I searched emergency dental offices in Reno and three or four came up. I contacted them all around midnight and Westside Dental Studio was the only one to respond to my inquiry. At 7am I got a text from the Westside Dental Studio office saying Doctor Jones could see me that day. They also worked with me on the time because I had a speaking engagement as part of an Alzheimer's Association event downtown. The appointment went very well. They took targeted x rays and Dr. Jones spoke to me. She assessed the problem and gave me her thoughts. We agreed on a plan of action. She did the work checking in throughout the procedure. They took a second set of x rays making sure there were no hidden issues left unresolved. I happily paid. They wished me well and sent me on my way. Best dental appointment EVER!!! Dr Jones spent a great deal of time cleaning and going over my teeth and gums removing the buildup from the last 5 years. The pain was minimal and worth it for the time and care she took to make my teeth feel clean. Oh my gosh! This place is amazing! I am not sure how often that is said about a dental office, but it's true for WestSide. The bungalow is decorated in such an inviting way that I instantly felt relaxed. Once in the chair I was given a weighted blanket and a heated neck pillow with my choice of an essential oil. The staff were so sweet, friendly, and warm. I was there for my initial appointment which included x-rays, a deep cleaning, and polishing. I was told about some teeth that need attention in the future. All of my questions and concerns were addressed in a patient and professional manner. I previously had bad experiences at the dentist because I was never numb enough and they were too harsh on my teeth. I felt so much pain to where I ended up with horrible anxiety and didn't go back to the dentist for another 2 years. I finally had the courage to go again and decided to swap dentists. I was recommended WestSide Dental and I am so glad I listened! After putting it off for so long because I was scared, I finally went and wow was it a difference! I had to have 4 cavities filled (2 different appts) and ZERO pain at all. Not one bit. They made sure I was comfortable and even provided a weighted blanket for me! The front desk attendant, Erin, is always very nice and helpful! The dental assistants are all so sweet and make you feel comfortable. I think I've finally found my dentist in Reno. After 5 years of visiting my old dentist in SF because 3 dentists I saw here when I was having painful condition, uninsured, terrified, took my money to look into my mouth, gave me $1500-2500 procedure plans, refused to treat the tooth that hurt. I was out by $500 without being treated. I thought, wow, I thought the dentists were doctors who try to save lives of the teeth! In Reno it seems that they all only cared about making more money off of a patient. And not about saving lives. You can imagine how traumatic my experiences were. Dr. Dean took that anxiety away. I was skeptical at first of course but she cared about my previous experiences and my anxiety, was very through with the exam, explained to me what's happening, my options. She also offers discount (a sign of doctor who cares about treating patients in need), and is available for booking a new patient like me. I called around before calling her office but they were booked up for 2-3 months. Overall I had an experience that far exceeded my expectations. She seems trustworthy.
