He takes the time to listen to you and to address any issues you are having with your mouth and teeth. He even helps with sleep apnea. His practice in Reno might be new, but Dr. Matt has been taking care of dental needs in Carson City for more than five years. I am so happy with the care Dr. Matt has given me, I now drive to his new office in South Reno because he has made me feel comfortable and confident with my smile. The new office is clean and the staff are so friendly. I'm glad I switched to this office.

He was very nice and straight forward. My hygienist was super sweet and super nice! I really liked her! I'm sad to say though that after today I think I might drive across town just to see Dr. Kim and Dr. Branco all the way out in North Valleys because when I was finished with my cleaning and got the good job from the Dentist, I went to the front to check out and was told I had a copay, a bit thrown off because I've never had a copay for a routine cleaning ever in my however many years of going to a dentist religiously twice a year. I even was looking at my benefits app and it says routine cleaning is 100 percent covered. The lady just looked at me and took my credit card without saying anything but then told me after she swiped my card that it was for the cancer screening. I told her that I usually opt out of that because I just don't like paying $10 for them to flash a blue light around my mouth for a few seconds to see if I have cancer. I don't smoke, or chew, or do anything that would make me feel like I need this service. Well, she went ahead and told me that with the other Dr I did do the cancer screening it was the fluoride that I opted out of usually. I just said oh because I was still in shock that they didn't have me sign a paper asking me if I wanted to do this or not like when Dr. Kim and Dr. Branco owned this office. I was always asked if I wanted to do the cancer screening and I would sign a paper saying yes or no. Instead this office just did it without asking and then charged me???? Not cool. Not professional either. Definitely going to report this to the state dental board. They are now called Mountain Peak smiles. So not sure how this will work on the review.

Each procedure I've had done I have had no complaints on. Typically the numbing shot is the worst part! They also frequently check in to ensure I am comfortable during the procedures. I know that it is a business, but Dr. Choi and his staff always take the time to make me feel seen and somehow remember what all is going on in my life despite seeing me every 6 months. I wanted to get a second opinion regarding the treatment that was recommended to me. I completely respect that dentists have their own professional recommendations, and I understand they may believe certain procedures are necessary. However, I also believe patients have the right to seek a second opinion before making a decision. Since I currently have no pain, discomfort, or concerns, I asked if I could simply receive the basic cleaning that my insurance covers. I was told they would not provide it because of other treatment recommendations. While I respect their policy, it wasn't the outcome I was hoping for. I then requested copies of my dental records so I could consult another dentist. I was told I needed to sign a release form, which was fine. The office sent the form by email, but it ended up in my spam folder, so I didn't see it until Monday morning. Once I found it, I completed the form and went to the office to obtain my records. Throughout the process, I felt like I had to work much harder than necessary just to get information and access my own records. During one phone call, I explained my situation to an employee, and instead of telling me she was transferring me, I was placed on silence. A different person eventually picked up, and I had to explain everything all over again. Overall, I left feeling like communication could have been much better. I respect the clinical judgment of the providers, but I didn't feel the office made it easy for me to ask questions or obtain my records for a second opinion. Based on my personal experience, I would choose another dental office in the future. And on top I asked I'll be there in 20 min to picked my records and I showed up 1 hour later and still made me wait to do what I asked. So unprofessional service.

Not sure how this was determined, because it was a rushed job. Simply looked at a few teeth with a mirror and made the determination. Did not even have the x-rays in the room to go over. Sought a second opinion from another dentist, who determined that #2 tooth was healthy and #30 was not. The irony is that he used the x-rays taken at Gentle Dental. He also used other methods and conversation that a place emphasizing profit over care would not be concerned about. In any case, this place is either selling services not required or incompetent. Either are disqualifiers. If proper care is expected see a true dentist in private practice and not a dental mill.

I'm very grateful for Dr. Song and his crew for running an excellent practice! I was able to…read moreschedule an initial exam and x rays within a few days and when I arrived I was promptly seen. My entire visit was less than an hour but for cleanings they informed me I wouldn't be seen for about 6 months. However, Dr. Song gave the okay to squeeze me in on one of his busy Saturdays the following week. I again was seen on time and was finished within the hour. Additionally, one of my teeth had a receding gum issue that made it nearly impossible to eat or drink anything cold on that side of my mouth due to unbearable sensitivity. I had seen two prior dentists in the past that recommended to me only gum grafting which would have set me back around $2000 and the recovery would have been painful. Since I was in school at the time I couldn't afford it, so for almost 6 years I suffered this tooth until the day came where I could afford it, in both time and money. When I told Dr. Song, I figured he would tell me the same thing the prior dentists did but he didn't. Rather, he immediately suggested bonding over the sensitive part of the tooth. I was able to get an appointment two weeks after my initial visit and again, was promptly seen on time. He told me that it would only take 10 minutes and the recovery time is basically only as long as it takes for the lidocaine to wear away. I left the office within 30 minutes of when I came! It's been about 10 hours since my visit and I'm pain free after almost a decade! Best part was that what I paid wasn't even 10% of the gum grafting price. When I asked about professional whitening, Dr. Song was refreshingly honest and told me not to do it given how sensitive my teeth would be and that white strips would give the same results, albeit in a longer amount of time. I appreciated that he didn't try to sell me a service I didn't need, not only when it came to the whitening but the gum grafting too. Thank you Dr. Song for squeezing me in for cleaning, recommending bonding, and not selling me anything I didn't need. Doctors like you are a rarity these days!
