I have Great Pyrenees = LOTS of hair! She takes both my Great Pyrenees on the same day and still finishes well before any grooming salon-- and they don't spend time in cages, getting stressed out. They always come out BEAUTIFUL! She knows how to work with their coats and not shave or ruin them (as has happened elsewhere). She's on time, pricing is fair (about the same as taking to a shop, even a bit better), and does a professional "dog show worthy" job. The convenience and low stress for the dogs and myself are added bonuses.

Andrea did a great job on my dog Whiskey. I was worried when I'd have to find someone new as I've just moved from vegas with my partner and Whiskey is a very shy and nervous dog. Andrea was friendly and super sweet to whiskey, she worked with her temperament and did a fantastic job! It's the best haircut she's ever had and I will continue to use Andreas services as well as recommending to all my family and friends. Thank you for making this a stress free groom along with a great job!

Andrea did a wonderful job on my Pepper! She's prompt, polite, and my shy dog took to her very well. Pepper is a hairy dog, think Aussie, and mostly white. Andrea got her coat under control, de shedding, clean ears and feet. I would recommend her anytime! Thank you!!

I recently tried Andreas for the first time. What a great experience for me and my dog Jake. Jake has always visited a salon for his grooming so I was hesitant to switch. Most recently his salon was short staffed so wait times exceeded 6-8 hours to finish my dog. I realized it was time to change so I tried another mobile groomer and while she was good she wasn't great and was 30 minutes late for my first visit. I called Andrea and we worked out a convenient appointment time. She was right on time. She met Jake, carried him to her trailer and began her work. In 1.5 hours Jake had his first summer short hair cut. I was so impressed and he was so happy. Jake has found his new groomer!

Ask the Community - Andrea's Dog Grooming

Could you do a visit here and just trim my three dog's nails? I have one Border Collie and two Shelties? I live near the middle of Simi.

We don't have water access at our place. Do you have your water source in the van/car? Sorry if it seems like a dumb question

Yes I have my own water. I just need to use a power outlet :)

Does Andrea groom cats? I have a long hair cat whose fur is clumping and brushing and a tangle removing tool is not working.

I do not. Try Julie Schwartz mobile grooming.

Does she groom large dogs, like a Golden Retriever?

    Yes

I called another mobile groomer who said she didn't work on Saturdays but to try her friend Andrea.

If you had asked me a few months ago how I felt about this salon, I would've given rave reviews…read more The staff there has always been wonderful and accommodating, and my dog and I left happy with the service. But after my experience today, if I could give less than 1 star for this review, I would. My partner and I bring our dog in every few months to use self service wash and get a nail trim. The self service is easy to use, though I wish they provided better towels as the weird black shamis do absolutely nothing to dry my short haired Pug/Chihuahua mix dog. One thing about my dog, he tends to be a bit anxious, and it takes two of us to hold him and keep him in the tub. He has a previous leg injury that makes his back leg weaker and at a higher risk for tearing his cranial cruciate ligament (CCL or CrCL), so we try and keep bath time short and as stress-free as possible so he's not straining too much. Another thing about him is that he also absolutely HATES the dryer. We've tried several times with no success because he always freaks out. He ends up scratching the heck out of both of us and trying to jump out of the tub or off the table. Even with a slip lead around his neck and shoulders, he ends up thrashing and is at risk for getting hurt. Today their stupid shami was doing NOTHING to get him dry, so I thought we could try the dryer on low briefly just to get more of the water out of his fur. It did NOT go well. Out of nowhere, an older grey haired woman entered our booth without asking or any kind of introduction, and immediately started intervening, telling me that I was doing it wrong. I tried to explain that he really doesn't like it, but she still stepped in and took control of him and tried to show me how it was done WITHOUT ASKING IF I WANTED HER TO. Again, he FREAKED out and was thrashing around and at risk for hurting himself and others. I told her we needed to stop, it was stressing him out too much. She then felt it necessary to say to me unprompted "your dog is a dog and not your child. If you keep treating him like a child, he will keep acting that way" and exited our booth. What the hell?!? I am an experienced dog owner and I'm very in tune with my dog's behavior. I can see when he's stressed or at his breaking point. I don't believe in pushing him past it to try and get him to do something I want him to do. I knew he needed a break, so I stopped trying to dry him. I, in no way shape or form, asked for help or her opinion, and was appalled at her lack of professionalism and rudeness. This was on top of how I heard her speaking to her staff, other dogs, and customers while I was there. Absolutely unacceptable behavior on her part. I told my partner to take our dog outside so I could finish cleaning up our station and pay. At checkout, I asked what was the gray haired woman's name from the employee helping me, which she told me was the owner. I was shocked to learn that an owner of a business catering to people and their dogs would feel it was OK to speak to someone that way. I let the employee know that we would NOT be getting our nail trim today, and that I wanted to hurry up and pay and leave and then I would NOT be returning. She apologized and offered to do the nail trim for free, making excuses for the owner like "I'm sorry, she's not always like that." But after reading through other reviews on here and Google, I can see that this is NOT a one time thing. While there are many 4 and 5 star reviews, there's more than enough saying that the owner is rude, unprofessional, and often cruel. I called later to reconfirm the name of the owner and the person on the phone was acting really cagey, saying she was a "volunteer "and she wasn't sure of the information, but if she took my name and number of someone would call me back. Screw that. I will not be returning to the salon EVER again, and I will tell everyone who will listen about my experience and the lack of professionalism by the owner.

This place is the best! As soon as I walked in I was greeted by the lovely employee at the front…read moredesk. I came in to use the dog bath station for the first time. She setup everything for me and explained how to use each item. The dog bath was great cause you can adjust it to your height so no bending over to wash and perfect for the dogs to access. The water was nice and warm and there was plenty of shampoo provided so my pup was nice, relaxed and CLEAN! Since it was her first time using the blower I anticipated that she would be scared which she was. I let the front know how wonderful my experience was and they said next time I can mention to them about her being afraid of the blower and they could provide me with ear muffs to help lessen the sound to helpfully help from her being afraid. Overall this was a great experience and perfect for anyone looking to use a self dog bath in Simi. Prices were very affordable and the tools provided were very useful (brushes, leave in conditioner, ear cleaner, cotton balls, collar with clip to tether dogs while grooming, variety of specific shampoos for different coats or dogs with allergies, towel to dry, apron and even goggles.) I would recommend bringing a second person if you have a dog that is on the bigger side and kind of scared of the loud sound of the dryer since it was difficult to use the blower and hold her in place. Luckily I had my husband there so he was able to comfort her and hold her in place. Thanks again for the wonderful experience Fur Grooming Salon! They also do nail trims which I had done prior to this and they were great dealing with my dog who was getting her nails done for the first time.
