Giving this place 3 real world stars, but in reality, in eastern WA it's more of a 4. First off, the ambiance is pretty cute. It's not fancy, but it's a cozy intimate kind of feel which I think is expected for Italian dining. We had no problems with service, all was good on that front! The only thing that was weird was we asked the waiter for a wine recommendation and he told us that was all us and he was no help... not a common answer but again, eastern wa so I guess I appreciate the honesty though I typically enjoy input and think it's usually a food service requirement that wait staff understand their wine list and know how to pair it with their menu. The food was all okay. Agree it's not traditional Italian and not elevated at all. Lasagna was okay. Alfredo was subpar. Chicken parm was okay. Pasta seemed over cooked and veggies were undercooked. The desserts were all a little off in flavor, with the exception of the lava cake being on point. All dishes are quite expensive for their quality ($28 for spaghetti and meatballs?!). In general, there wasn't much open that was family friendly when we were there and this wasn't a bad option, we had a good time. Would return but not expect to have my socks knocked off.

After a day of pre-wedding festivities (not our wedding, but one we were in), we decided a nice relaxing Italian dinner would be just what the doctor ordered. I found Andante on yelp as the Italian restaurant closest to us that was open late(ish) so I called and made a reservation and we drove right over. The immediate ambiance was really nice. We were seated and given menus, and we took in the space. I thought that a restaurant with this vibe would be much busier on a friday night, but less than half of the tables were full which should have been my first red flag. We chatted with the waitress Favi who I asked about vegetarian options, and she basically said that if I edited the dishes, it would taste bad, which was weird. We started with the polenta appetizer ($12), he ordered the chicken piccata ($26), and I ordered the fire pasta ($25) vegetarian. While we waited, we were serenaded by the most peculiar combo of piano music, including the main song from Avitar the movie, and Dead or Alive...recorded from a baby grand. Take that in for a moment. The polenta appetizer was solid, and if we had stopped there, I would have given them more stars. I honestly had never eaten fried polenta topped with a bruschetta-like topping, and it was really decent. Unfortunately, my dinner was so horrendous, it overshadowed the appetizer. Our entrees, despite the half empty restaurant, took almost an hour to get to us. When they did, my entree was a gelatinous mound of overcooked pasta, topped with a grainy, thick, almost uncooked flour-tasting sauce and veggies. The sauce was so thick, it didn't even penetrate the pasta, leaving it completely bare. I tried to mix them together and the pasta was so overcooked, it would not be mixed. Hubby tried his dish and said it was ok, but again, super overcooked pasta, and flavors which were really odd. When our waitress came back to check on us and noticed I hadn't eaten my entree, I told her what the deal was with it. I'm not sure if maybe they were short staffed and whomever was at the helm in the kitchen just didn't know what they were doing, or they really did depend on the meat to carry the dish? Regardless I told her I just couldn't eat it, and she did to her credit try to offer me something else, but I was so grossed out by what it was, I really lost my appetite. Thankfully they did take my entree off the bill, but we were still charged $43 for $38 of food so I'm not sure what got missed there. Prices were high for the overall lack of quality and the clear lack of quality assurance on the food leaving the kitchen. This might be passable for Italian food in Chelan, but it wouldn't be somewhere I'd return to if I came back to this area. 2 stars only for the appetizer, otherwise I'd give it a 1 star.

This is such a cute spot! It's smaller than we imagined, but it made it that much more intimate. We did call in for a reservation but it didn't look like we really needed it. As soon as we walked in, a party was ridiculously animated and loud. There was no way to get them to tone it down some since they were living their best lives; however it was def difficult to have conversations with my partner. The couple behind us kept trying to shhh the group and the couple beside the group moved away. The service was pretty good. Our server had to ask us for our order twice because they forgot it. I liked that they acknowledged that they should've written it down; we gotta give grace when we can. The food was definitely just okay. I'm a fan of Italian food and I wasn't blown away by the food. The bread was delicious, though. We ordered tomato soup (ok), mussels (meh), chicken piccata (lemon/capers took over), prawns and prosciutto (bae loved this!), and lava cake (superrr chocolate-y). Glad we checked it out, doubt we'll go back.

For my friend's bachelorette weekend we wanted one night with a fancy dinner. I had heard of Andante from a friend who frequents chelan and made a reservation. When you sit down you're in a very intimate setting. The restaurant is not too big so they can focus on each individual guest. We loved this. The herbed bread, oil and vinegar you get to start is amazing. So much flavor. I ordered pasta and it came with a good sized portion and was flavorful and rich and delicious. As a table we ordered chocolate lava cake and bread pudding. The price was reasonable for great food. I would definitely return.

Salmon and asparagus and the fettuccine pasta

The food was great! We didn't wait long at all and got seated very quickly. Would go again!

I can't say enough how kind the staff - both at the tasting room and restaurant - were to my family. The restaurant itself had a magical ambience, most especially because it was just right after Christmas. The perfect lighting makes or breaks it and they got it right. Driving below looking at Tsillan Cellars, I imagined the restaurant to be more spacious than what I thought it to be, rather, it was a bit more intimate which was quite nice. As it was dark, we could not see the view but I would imagine that it would have been outright stunning in the day. As for the food, we ordered the shrimp risotto, steak, and canelloni for the adults. This establishment also offers a kid's menu and although I usually have my kids eat from whatever I order, we decided they cam order a plate of their own, which was spaghetti and chicken tenders with rosemary fries. All of the dishes were of quality and of course, delicious. I wish I could get another plate of the risotto. If we ever get the chance to come back, I would certainly come back and reserve a time when there is daylight to enjoy the view of the area and water.

Service: my boyfriend called to schedule a reservation. Number one I have a food allergy (onions,…read moreshallots, green onion and chive). He spoke at length to them about the allergy and if substitutions were made. We had the online menu and several of the dishes we were promised were onion free, including ciopinno. Now I make this at home. I am aware there are standard white onions in the broth. He doesn't know that, he just knows I love it. He clarified twice with whoever answered the phone. When he brought me, he had assured me they said it was onion free. *In a Morgan Freeman voice* it was in fact not onion free, nor were most of the dishes on the menu. I know better than to get too invested into any menu items prior for asking if it is safe. Second, we asked for a table with a view, preferably outside. This is primarily because of the onion allergy and he wanted a view. They put us in the middle of the dining hall. We asked about the view, the seating hostess "well this is the best view." There were three tables out on the patio. We had a view of a bridal party and bros who were spilling their drinks. I after a lengthy back and forth about food items, I was instructed to order protein and sides that were safe. What I ordered: scallops cooked in a butter, lemon and white wine sauce order a pasta of the chef's choosing. What she kept ordering were plain scallops, buttered noodles and a side of vegetables. I kept correcting her that I did not want buttered noodles. I stead of listening to me, she kept asking me what type of noodles I wanted. She didn't allow the chef to choose, she wrote linguini. I tried one more time correcting her, Steph wouldn't fix it. The lack of communication is sad. The food: I wish I could talk about the food. I got tasteless butter garlic noodles, three very small tasteless scallops, a side of shaved parmesan and a side of vegetables. I paid $45 dollars to be fed a meal worthy of a picky 2 year old and not what I ordered. I cannot fault the chef. I have no doubt he hated making that dish given what was on that menu. After heavily salting, I gave up after three bites. My boyfriend was very clear with Steph. I was very clear with Steph. She would not listen. Ambiance: is beautiful. Worthy of all the IG pictures. Because they accommodated the food allergy, I chose to not give one star. But honestly they deserve a one star review. Recommendations: Teach your staff how to listen. I had one amazing restaurant that will highlight with a highlighter what I can eat and underline anything that be accommodated. That was probably the best restaurant I have ever experienced.

I can't say enough how kind the staff - both at the tasting room and restaurant - were to my family. For that one staff who gave my two year old the water buffalo figurine, he still plays with it, so thank you! As we visited right after Christmas, the decor was still up, which made the place very cozy, especially when sitting right in front of the humongous fireplace. The ambience is beautiful with stunning views, and the location is easy to get to with good parking, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, the wine flights/palettes didn't really impress me just not my personal taste. We also wanted to dine at the restaurant, but it was completely sold out. It sounds like many of their best wines are already purchased by wine club members before they even hit the shelves, which was a bit disappointing for first time visitors. Overall, a great spot for the scenery and atmosphere, but the wine selection available during our visit fell short for me

Lake Chelan doesn't have much in terms of high-quality vegetarian or plant-based gourmet options, but Bear Foods was a massively delightful surprise! The store is absolutely PACKED with things that I wanted to look at and take home. I was impressed with how many things they stocked that were items I've only seen online and never seen sold in stored. We took a super long time through the coffee and tea isle and ultimately took a few boxes and tins home with us because their selection was so good. Their cheeses and gourmet snacks area was well stocked, and I could see how some of the vacationing non-locals could keep a business like this afloat even with their considerable prices. I really wanted to go back, but we were in the area for a wedding and our timeline just didn't allow it to happen. Otherwise, I probably would have brought home a lot more of their amazing goodies! Only downside for me was that during our time there, there was a mask mandate, and not a single person working there was masked. I thought that was an odd thing to have despite the state's requirements and especially because they were a grocery store and having significant contact with patrons. Other than that, it was a really positive experience and I would absolutely return.
