So my right shoulder had been hurting for MONTHS, with pain radiating up the side of my neck to the base of my head. I can tell I have knots in the muscles. It hurts to sleep with a pillow. It hurts to sleep without a pillow. It just hurts all the time! I finally decided to get a massage today. Found this place close by that could get me in ASAP. Ancient Thai Massage. Maybe the name should have sent up some questions in my brain, but I was just thinking of sweet relief. No, it wasn't one of "those" types of massage parlors (get your mind out of the gutter, fam), but it was the strangest massage I've ever had. A combination of stretching (had no idea I could touch my heels to my butt cheeks, but I guess that wasn't done voluntarily) and DEEP tissue massage. Daisy REALLY dug into that mess on my neck/shoulder area and it feels so, so much better. But also, the first thing she asked me was "can I stand on your back...with my feet?" I didn't really know how to answer, I was so startled by the question. "Um....no, my back has problems sometimes." (If you don't have back problems, you may want to say yes!) But then she proceeds to get up onto the table with me, and uses her knees to start walking on me. Up my legs and onto by butt - like a cat. Y'ALL - SHE HAD HER KNEES IN MY BUTT CHEEKS (working out the knots in my butt muscles I didn't even know were there)! I decided to try and trust the process, and am thankful I did. I do feel 1000x better & was offered hot tea when it was over...so I guess that's it's own type of happy ending. 10/10 - would go again. read more

My neck and back were free of all kinks The worst part of my experience was the wait before I was checked in. I had an amazing experience here! They were very welcoming and even thanked me for showing up early (about 20mins before my appt). The private massage room was nice and clean. I went with the Thai Herbal Massage...for the price, it was worth it! She gave me full body massage and stretching, but really focused on my shoulder/upper back areas as I requested. This lil massage place is in the heart of Redlands--just a few minutes away from Downtown. It's quaint and small but private and worth the price. Yes, you can hear the cars and occasionally the construction taking place outside but for me, it just added character among the tranquil music on repeat. I chose the Thai herbal massage. $65 with heat compression. I didn't smell any strong herbal fragrance--or any for that matter. Patty did wonders over my knots! I was both in pain but also so grateful for her smoothing over the knots in my scapula and trap muscles. Note: the heat compression is NOT for the weak. There were a few times the heat was too hot for me but nothing that resulted in an injury. I don't know if this type of massage is something I would get again, the style just didn't really suit what I was looking for. For gals, they provide garments for privacy. They were cotton shorts and a tank-top style shirt with an open back. I appreciated this so much! At the end, you're offered tea and water with no rush to pay and I loved this. I used to come here for my massages, and i had a great experience; however after this last time I will not be returning. I had a deep tissue massage with the thai compress--with special focus to my neck and back picked out. I received a massage only on my special focus areas and compress on my full body. I was waiting throughout the massage thinking that the massage for my full body would resume after she finished the compress part...and it never did. I let the person at the front know, and she had the nerve to ask me "why I didnt tell the lady while she was doing it"? I thought she was getting to it later, and there's really no concept of time while you're getting a massage. You would think after hearing that, they'd be apologetic, or offer some kind of comp for the service, but instead, she really asked me if I wanted to leave a tip. Here's a tip: it's poor form/business practice to blame customers for not asking to receive the services they ordered & you agreed to render. Very disappointed. read more

Medium pressure was perfect. This was done as a couples massage with my wife, she loved it as well. Not a fan of tea, but the tea afterwards was surprisingly good. Location didn't look as sketchy as other reviews suggested, plenty of parking in back. Also, it's an old style house, so every step is heard.
