I have been to Ancient Thai Massage in Redlands for 60 & 90 minute massages many times over the past few years. Have had some great massages there. Today was my LEAST FAVORITE. NO BUENO. For a 1 hour traditional hot herb massage, it's $85 (plus tip), so basically, $100. For that price, I would prefer an actual massage that focuses on massaging out knots and sore muscles. Today's massage was instead, a lot of compression and stretching. :( Also, my first time ever getting a massage in the front room, close to the street, close to the driveway close to the waiting room. Needless to say, I was highly distracted by the constant traffic/street noise, business phone calls, people coming and going for their appointments, doors opening and closing, people walking the halls etc. I had a difficult time relaxing with all the noises and bustling about the small house. They were pretty busy. Bummer. Not worth the money today. read more

I called weeks ahead to reserve a 60 minute massage. They had me pay 50% in advance to put down the reservation. On the day of, parking in rear was plentiful for a 10:30am session. My friend and I did the intake form before going into the private room. Peach was my masseuse. Very respectful on the parts I needed work on but were very sore (sciatica and knee). I did the herbal treatment which felt amazing (the heated treatment was a really nice touch). The restroom was clean and stocked. The tea they served after was refreshing and fragrant. Overall, they are well-kept, clean, respectful and affordable. I'd be down to go weekly but it would depend on my work schedule and weekend plans. read more

Still a great place, I had MJ and she really worked on the knots. Just be aware they've upped their prices on the massage menu about 10.00 more per massage since I posted this picture. As of August 2024; so your basic 1 hour massage is now 80.00. They also charge a 3.00 credit card fee. I love the place but it kinda feels a little too pricey for me right now (with tip on top of that), and I may just have to stick with my mall massage places for now. read more

We didn't have a reservation, but they took us in for our walk-in with a 0-minute wait :) MJ and Aura were very kind and helpful the entire process! MJ kept checking that the pressure wasn't too much/painful. Aura focused on my problem areas and loosened/got rid of my knots! I am so glad I gave this place a chance. It was a bit of an odd location to me at first, but I was immediately greeted by a very sweet lady. She had me wait about 5 minutes while they prepped my room. In the meantime I filled out a form and circled what parts of my body I wanted massaged and what parts I did not want/need massaged. Then, a woman named Lana did a very detailed massage. She got YEARS of tension out of my body. At the end of my massage, the lady who greeted me gave me a cup of fruit tea that was delicious. My pain comes and goes - years now and Drs can't find what's wrong, they have just tried to give me muscle relaxers and pain meds which don't even help. Made an appt for 90 min massage. May was the masseuse. I filled out the card indicating my massage preferences ( soft, no stretching). I had to remind May more than 6 times within the first 15 minutes she was too hard and hurting me. She kept saying "im sorry" . That's all she would say. When I asked her to stop working on my back ( as she was hurting me) she said "okay", but didn't stop. I finally sternly told her to stop and she did. Then she began in in my legs and feet, again too hard. I got a severe cramp in one foot. That was enough! I told May I was done. I got up and dressed. I still had 45 min left of my 90 min massage. The manager came out ( ( Wana) and said I had 45 min left. I told her about my experience. She told me I should have asked for the mngr. I told her I would pay for 45 min, she told me it was either 30 min or 60 min. Plain robbery! When i got home i called to advise Wana that I had severe pain in my lower back that I did. Ot have when i went in for my appt. She said she had already talked to May, and May told her she thought she could do the massage. Wana agin said you could have asked for manager within first 15 min of the massage. Really? There is no sign that indicates that. Wana said " there used to be, but I dont know where it is now". When i began to tell her how paying for an hour when i got a horrible 45 min massage, she cut me off. I told her." You need to listen to me, so you know how my experience was,,". She said " no I dont". I have been there several times and with this experience and pain level i am in right now, i can truly say do NOT have May do yiur massages. My husband and I love to indulge occasionally with a nice couples massage with deep tissue rub down for our aching muscles due to the fact that we are very athletic and outgoing. We discovered this wonderful business located in downtown Redlands in the most charming historical Victorian house, which invites you in with a cool, relaxed, vibe the minute you step in the door. They were very professional and knowledgeable. I knew exactly where our aches and pains are located and they were respectful of the intensity of their deep tissue massages as well. Some can be a little painful and others not enough intensity to feel any effects in the muscles, but both of these ladies knew exactly what they were doing, and they also applied some wonderful yoga stretch exercises as well. parking was accessible in the back of the business, and we only had to wait a very short time and they were able to book us an appointment very quickly. When I called. We are going to make this a habit to maintain our health and mental welfare by using their massage facilities on a regular basis.
