Yellow cab has been great for airport dropoffs--even during blizzard conditions. They have been punctual and friendly. Last June, Madrid helped us load and unload five large bags without any hesitation. I am surprised that there are so many poor reviews. I scheduled a minivan pickup a day in advance. That may have helped our experience. read more

The driver spoke loudly in a foreign language, the entire ride on his phone with no regard to the passenger. I gave him a tip. He didn't even say thank you he complained that I was taking too long to pay and then as I got my service dog that was in a carrier out he made a very rude comment. I've never been so disrespected in my entire life. I felt like I was looking down upon for being an American. You can do better. read more

All I can say is don't use yellow cab for anything... I called a few days prior to schedule a pick up for early in the morning to head to the airport. 15 minutes later they never show up... I call them and they never sent anyone to pick me up. They said they would call me back when they found someone. 20 minutes later we load up in our car to drive to the airport and they call to let me know they still can't find anyone.. I would have been not able to make my airplane if I didn't have my jeep to put my luggage in. DO NOT COUNT ON THEM TO COME read more

Rude, disrespectful, scary, and hard to get anyone who understands what your saying - There has to be a more effective communication approach when handing customers- I understand there are bad people but you can't just treat them all like that- read more

Yellow Cab is okay if you're going from a various precise address. If you're stuck with a flight tire in the theater parking lot, and you give the dispatcher the precise position in a far corner of the parking lot, the dispatchers do NOT pass that information. Zero for two attempts. read more

I needed to use yellow cab to get around town on my stay in Anchorage, as I was working on shipping a vehicle. The first two drivers I had were friendly, but carried on phone conversations the entire time. Overall, they were pretty safe. The last driver was terrible. He was on speaker phone the entire time and crossed multiple lane lines. Then swore in another language when I didn't tip him. I will use Uber from now on. This was the absolute worst experience I've ever had using a taxi service. read more

This is by far a company worth being far too embarrased to go around bragging about a singe thing. As soon as the rest of the population goes the way of the smart phone and online banking, there will be no reason to take a yellow cab that can take up to.more than 3 to 4 hours to get a 10 minute ride. My friend has been waiting all night for a cab to show up. Literally. Seriously...ALL NIGHT. be smart people and save tons and tons and tons and tons and tons of time. Order an Uber or LYFT. Why would.anyone want to work for the slowest and worst company with a bad reputation for driver conduct? Avoid yellow cab at all costs. Unless you absolutely love to wait more than 3 full hours like my friend tonight Thursday 11 September 2025 and we passed out waiting. Yellow cab sucks at calling customers. They do love to.show up and wait for about 10 seconds to maybe 30 if your lucky and drive away. read more

Monday morning I got ripped by a driver. It was my first experience with a taxi in a loooooong time, so I was a rookie I took one to the airport today AFTER verifying the approximate cost. He had a monitor on his dash showing the cost as it accrued and an "iPad " type monitor hanging on the passenger seat that showed his number and his car's number. The ripper had neither. He knew when he picked us up that he was planning a ripped. Fast forward, I called to complain and ended up with a voicemail complaints department. They didn't, as promised, call back yesterday, or after a 2nd call, didn't call back today. The hotel has the cab on video, but yellow cab isn't interested. Tomorrow I'll file a police report as it is quite obvious that the company doesn't care. Hello Uber read more

Absolutely worst cab service I have ever had in Anchorage and I have been since 1979. I was downtown and called the dispatch to get a cab. I waited 2 1/2 hours until somebody offered me a ride home dispatch kept telling me that I had to stand at the curb flag the cab down and I repeatedly Told the dispatcher that I was was not a possibility for I told him I was looking out the window to just have the cab stop out front and I will come right. The dispatcher was rude and totally how they treat disabled people in this I will be filing a formal complaint with the city. read more

The rudest drivers & overcharged me for a 5 min drive. They have been the worst for 25 years. I'm so mad I didn't call Uber. read more

This business is seriously not on the up and up. $3 per mile and my ride was 4 miles. The guy charged me $19 for the ride. Even with the $2.75 starting rate that's a rip off. This company is stealing money, call UBER. read more

So I got a cab to the Alaska Railroad Depot early in the morning.... I'm an introvert, but I like to talk and learn. But no talk for me! I asked the cab driver where he was from, and he said "Anchorage" in a heavy Russian accent. So I asked him how he liked living here, and he said, "No answer for you." I found the Seinfeld soup nazi. It's me, so I asked why that might be - no answer for me. I expected a real answer or a fist fight, but he said "Not allowed to talk." The last time I checked, this is still the United States where it's okay to talk, but maybe he is part of a witness protection program and needs to protect his identity. I've been in hundreds of cabs, but this was the weirdest cab driver ever., It was one for the books, but I would not want anyone more mild mannered to ride with this gonzo! Is Ted Kaczynski still in jail? But maybe I'm not good with people! - read more

Gayle and I used Yellow Cab twice during our short visit to Anchorage. The first time was from the Airport to the Embassy Suites Hotel and the 2nd was 2 days later in the morning when we needed to get to the Train Station. Contrary to the multiple negative reviews on this Page, our experiences were actually quite good. Any company is as good as their last customer experience, and I've certainly had my share of bad cab and Uber experiences. But not this time. The Airport pick-up was at the recommendation of the Hotel, which having dropped their shuttle, reimbursed the driver via a voucher. We added a cash tip. The car was comfortable and the guy driving the car was courteous and was great help with the bags. And we felt safe. The Train morning pick-up was at 5:30 and he was early. The guy took us strait there and part of the route we remembered from our walk downtown the previous day. Again, we were shown good courtesy, safety and help with our bags. After this, what more did we need, especially being new to town? read more

STAY AWAY FROM THIS UNPROFESSIONAL COMPANY I scheduled my taxi goes in advance to show up at 740 and my can driver showed up 30 minutes late. I then proceeded to call fleet management which gave me attitude and told me that I should expect it to run late. I then asked to be transferred to the supervisor who gave me lip was extremely unprofessional and wouldn't refund my fare or give me credit for the extremely unprofessional job there taxi provided. I highly recommend staying away from this company and I for one who travels quite a bit for work will not use there service anymore read more

We took five Ubers and one Yellow Cab in Anchorage. All Ubers were great, cab was terrible. Draw your own conclusions.

This is probably the worst experience I've had in my life and I'm 64 years old. Called for a ride and we were told it would cost $65 each way. We got a ride to our destination and they told us just to call when we wanted to be picked up. When we called to get back to our resort they informed us it would cost $150 for the ride back. What a scam. Never recommend them. read more

This entire business is a nightmare. The cabs are awful, the drivers are jerks, and the service is garbage. I've almost been hit by these morons about twice a week because of their poor driving skills. Their cabs also often have pieces hanging off creating a hazard. These people suck. Don't use them. read more

The taxi driver would not take us to our hotel because it was not far enough from the airport and the fare would not be large enough. This is NOT how you treat visitors to your city. read more

Don't bother calling. They either won't answer or will waste your time. We rode with them once from the train station to a friend's house, and it was okay, but the driving was a little too intense. We tried to use them again though, and it was terrible. My husband called just after 12 PM, requested a cab. We waited for 45+ minutes. I called back, giving them requested details, and then the dispatcher left the call. I could hear her talking to other coworkers, laughing in the background. I waited a few minutes, repeating "hello?" and then I finally hung up. I called back three times, no answer. We ended up going with Uber & they picked us up under 5 mins. read more

I accidentally left my cell phone in one of the cabs. I called dispatch and talked to a female dispatcher who had the worst attitude! "I wish you people would pay attention to the cab numbers when you lose things!" was her response. Then, after calling six cabs, told me she wasn't going to call another six. I waited a few minutes to calm down and called them back. I got a different dispatcher who actually asked for the details of my phone. Within a couple minutes, the cab driver pulled up and handed my phone. I feel sorry for the people who have to deal with this female dispatcher. Horrible customer service and terrible attitude overall. I don't think she has any business wishing in any job where she deals with the public. read more

I seemed to have had a much different experience than many other reviewers. We came to town for a medical procedure and used this taxi company frequently. All the cab drivers we have had so far have been amazingly accommodating with the wheelchair we've been transporting with us and the fare is much better than in Fairbanks. read more

I do not remember my driver's name but, he was so kind and professional. He gave some tips on other places to go in Anchorage.

had a really nice talk with a cab driver angela and she got me home safe after a really tramatic day. I left the cab with a smile

The cab driver we had charged us $12 over our usual fare to the airport. I don't know how he did it. It was above what the mileage from our house to the airport was. We have taken a cabs prior to this, and were never charged the high rate he charged us. He arrived late, told us he had been driving cab here for 20 years, and had picked up numerous people in our area. But he was lost trying to find our house and then had to ask our directions to the airport. We gave him directions and we didn't take any deviations. He didn't know where he was going and had no GPS. We did not get a receipt and were rushed at the airport, so just paid the fare. I did call the cab company and they said they would research it and call me back, but they never did. We got the total on our Visa and tried to fight it, but to no avail. We noticed the mileage was 4 miles more than what it should have been from our house. How this driver added that mileage, we do not know. Beware of this company!! Make sure when you get your cab, that the fare charge begins right when you leave and the fare is what is published by the company. We most likely will not use this company again - very disappointed with the business practice and the cab driver. read more

I've always called yellow cab for all of our customers. A customer has been waiting for quite a while, so they decided to use a different service. When I called to cancel, dispatch was horribly rude, said the cab was outside but would leave, and hung up. We are standing in an empty parking lot, with 0 cabs in sight . Checker Cab has just arrived -- less than 5 min! read more

I called yellow cab for a woman outside my house who didn't have a phone on her and clearly needed help and/or a ride. She was very polite and I was happy to call for her. The dispatcher would not send a cab because she didn't have a phone and said I would be liable for all charges if she wasn't there. This can't be true seems hotels and restaurants call cabs regularly, this seems like an occupational hazard of driving a cab and not for Uber or Lyft. It's also a socioeconomic discriminator and punishes a woman trying to do the right thing- pay for a ride home! read more

They fully support their cabs driving someone all over town and racking up a huge bill if you were drinking.

Cab drivers mother must be proud of the thief he became. Stole my brothers white iPhone xr. Cracked back. We called dispatch and told them about their thriving driver. Their no use. Just as bad as the driver read more

On 3/23/12, yellow cab driver #145 picks us up downtown around 2am. We tell him our address on the east side of Anchorage, he heads west and proceeds to drive the long way to our house. Traveling with Medicaid and every time I am given issues by a cab driver who has no idea what they are doing. The cabs usually arrive to my house to pick me up fairly quickly and take me to the airport at a decent pace. I much rather take yellow cab over checker because of the ease using my credit card. Yellow Cab, especially #54 - drove off with the back door still open on a disabled military veteran. Upon calling dispatch, they hung up on the person that complained. If you want to know why Uber exists...look no farther. Called ahead to get a 5 person cab...we walk out to grab the cab, the driver lets another person (1 person) jump in his mini-van and drives away as my wife tried to flag him and rapped on the window. Waited another 10 mins for dispatch to send another cab. read more

We used them from the airport to the hotel. We had 7 large bags to transport and our driver was helpful and courteous.

Depending on the driver and cab it could be a decent trek across town or an episode from backwoods rally race or something... I didn't get the bad cab number unfortunately but the last one we had going back to pick up our car from the shop, was 181. He was safe efficient and had a very clean cab and he was extremely polite. The one before that, yesterday was decent and had a nice disposition but his cab was kinda grubby. The one before that was in race car mode and scared the bejeesus out of us. All kinda depends. I can absolutely say that they're FAST. Reasonably priced. Efficient. I will use again. read more
