She was a wealth of knowledge and such a fun person to spend the day with. Everywhere we went, she seemed to know everything. She interspersed personal anecdotes allowing us to get to know her better and to understand more about the area. Everything was included in the price of the tour. Lunch (of your choice - not just preset options), a beer at the brewery, and admission to the nature center were all taken care of. There were also snacks and water available in the van. We got lucky with a small group (4 people including us!), but the van only holds 13 people - much better than the giant coach busses! I cannot recommend Salmon Berry, and Michelle in particular, highly enough

I'll spare you the details, except to say there is a one-way tunnel with a schedule for when you can drive through it, and Phil managed it perfectly by showing up more than an hour early. We paid for a private 9-hour tour, which was convenient because the van securely held our luggage the entire time until we eventually got to the Anchorage airport. Phil customized the tour based on our preferences, so we were able to do some excellent hikes and got to see some bears, moose, elk, and others at a wildlife sanctuary. Phil is a good historian and had plenty to say as he drove us around and accompanied us on our adventures.

Booked the glacier full day trekking tour and had Billy as my guide and couldn't have had a better…read moreexperience! Everything about dealing with this company was a breeze! I booked the day before, the morning of the owner texted me to confirm that I would be picked up at my Airbnb, Billy texted me notifying me when he was on his way. He was kind, responsive, full of information, considerate, and willing to tailor the speed and details to the needs of the group. He truly made this trip enjoyable. Van ride to the glacier is about 100 miles, we stopped at a gas station about half way. We stopped twice for two photo opportunities, and then made our way to the glacier gift shop to sign waivers. Then drove down to the launch point of the trek. There are ample bathrooms down there. Billy did not accompany us on the glacier but that was okay, our guide at the glacier was super sweet and knowledgeable. I felt more than safe! You walk across a floating bridge to get your microspikes and then we spent about 2-2.5 hours trekking the glacier. You do spend most of the hike on the rocky surface, but we did a pretty steep climb on the blue ice to get to the top of our area, we drank glacier water (amazing) and then saw the base of the glacier which was stunning. Post trek we returned to the tent and met up with Billy, he had snacks waiting for us and then drove us up to the lodge for lunch. After lunch we made the drive back, and again Billy was willing to accommodate different drop off points.

We had such a WONDERFUL day dog sledding with our guide Lori…read more Our day started with getting picked up at our hotel in downtown Anchorage. Hotel pickup was super helpful since we didn't rent a vehicle. Lori made a bathroom/coffee stop 45 minutes into the drive. We stopped at a local coffee shop which was so thoughtful instead of stopping at your typical gas station. Afterwards we arrived at our destination for the dog sled tour. We went during the winter and it gets very cold when you are moving on the sled! We are from Arizona so we didn't have snow boots or other items on hand. Luckily snow shoes, heavy gloves, beanies, etc were provided for us to change into so that we stayed nice and warm on the sled. We were paired up and got the chance to sit down and ride in the front of the sled which was perfect for taking videos and pictures. And the other person had the chance to stand up at the back of the sled. We warmed up with a delicious lunch at a nearby lodge and made our way back to Anchorage. Overall, we had such a great day thanks to Lori and the dog mushers. It was truly a one of a kind experience! Highly recommend 907 Tours.

My mom and I went to Seavey's last night for dinner and the show. We had a wonderful time. The…read morecrowd for dinner (at 6 p.m.) was smallish and allowed for a lot of chatting with the mushers (guys, and presumably gals, who lead the teams of dogs). They had a nice slide show that, despite a few typos, was really informative and interesting. The slide show led to some good questions to ask the mushers. Plus, dinner was good. I mean, have you ever had a buffet dinner with a bunch of tourists that was good? It wasn't only good, it was delicious. They served a baby herb salad (fresh as can be), grilled chicken (I didn't try that), amazing garlic mashed potatoes, slow-cooked perfectly spiced NY Strip roast, and entirely decent rolls. Dessert was NY cheesecake with fresh strawberries. After dinner we walked through the kennel area, petting the dogs and snuggling a new litter of puppies. The mushers were super-friendly and helped everyone take nice photos with the dogs (eg getting them sit, stay, and to look at the camera). We made our way to covered bleacher seating for the "rodeo"/sleddog demonstration. The demonstration had some little stories thrown in that were cute and entertaining. We were able to see and learn about the different positions the dogs can take -- lead dogs, wheel dogs, where you put the dogs that aren't quite so clever, etc. We saw one of the wheel dogs pull 800 lbs, and a team of 16 dogs pull an entire pick-up truck put in neutral. We had a really nice evening with Dallas Seavey, the other mushers, and their dogs. I'd recommend their show without reservation.

The owner, Russ, was very accommodating and set me up for a tour starting only two hours later. Eventually the group grew to three people and Russ picked us up at the Hilton promptly at 11. This was exactly what I was looking for. I spent a very enjoyable four hours with Russ, who grew up in Alaska and who knows the state backwards and forwards. Russ has a great deal of civic pride as well! Russ gave us a comprehensive look at the after-effects of the big earthquake during the 60s, where entire homes were moved up to two or three city blocks! The ground shifted so much it made a once perfectly flat neighborhood into a neighborhood with lots of hills! Russ has a sharp eye for wildlife, and besides mountain goats and sheep, we actually got to see a moose! Ross absolutely loves his home state, and you will learn a lot driving around with him. And have a pretty good time doing it, as well!

On today's tour I learned that 99 million gallons of water flow under Matanuska Glacier each day; Glacial water comes out of her at 28 degrees & can freeze at 29 degrees; she is moving 12-16 inches a day(normal is 10 inches)and that a loud Popcorn sound IS never a good sound! First of all, it was the only company that replied to my emails, and I sent emails to all the helicopter companies. From the first point of contact (Thank you Doc), to the friendly staff (Thank you Nora) to the awesome pilot (Thank you Jeff) it was very professional but down to earth. I felt comfortable right from the start and appreciate the effort put forward by the team to pull off my surprise birthday charter for my husband. The team was in constant contact with me to ensure me that things were set up and ready to go on the day of our charter. My husband believed that we were going downtown for dinner and to have our pilot greet us at the door and say, "Happy Birthday" to my husband when we entered the building was just perfect. I chartered a helicopter to fly us to Whittier and drop us off, and the sites along the way were just breath taking. I can't thank the team enough for being so gracious and genuine. I plan on using them again for our Anniversary. You can take their regular charters or charter a flight to fit your special occassion, because this company will do their level best to make it a happy occassion and I can't thank them enough. We arranged our wedding with these guys to get married on Knik glacier, just outside of Palmer, AK. Our party was a total of 11 people (including us & photographer). We used two separate helicopters; 1 dedicated for my husband, myself, and our photographer, and the other helicopter shuttled two different loads of 4 people to the landing location to meet us there. After the ceremony, our party of 8 flew back to where we originally took off in Palmer, AK, while my husband, myself, & our photographer did additional landings nearby. Our party took the limo back to Anchorage, and my husband and I ended up taking the helicopter back to Anchorage to meet everyone for dinner. First off, Jarius was AMAZING and unbelievably helpful & patient with answering each and every stupid and petty question I had. He helped us plan everything to the last final detail, and was just a real pleasure to work with. Both of the pilots that flew that day (Jarius & Josiah) were the best, and really went above and beyond to make our day special. They picked a GORGEOUS location for the ceremony, right where two blue glacial rivers met and big green luscious hills nearby in the background. On the way back, Jairus landed the helicopter in a glacial pool and did a cool fly by when my husband and I were standing on the edge of the hill. Josiah was awesome, and was picking out cool & scenic areas for my husband and I to check out while we were exploring on the mountain. The people that work at Tanalian are really what makes that business so special. They are truly good hearted & go above and beyond to bring out the best. We had the best time for our wedding, thanks to them.
