I have just been through the Alaska Airlines holiday gladiator gamut. I was scheduled to fly from Tampa to Anchorage on the 29th, through Seattle. Here are some numbers of what actually happened: 7: number of flights that were cancelled 4: number of flights it took to get back to Anchorage 4th: date I actually got home 2: number of nights I stayed in Juneau 2: number of nights I was without my luggage, once I finally got back into town I got the bags back last night. Alaska Airlines is using BAC to deliver them. (no idea if this is typical, I've never had this done before) All I've really known of BAC before this is that they are slickly dressed in black, and hold signs for people they are waiting for at the airport. I have most commonly seen them unloading luggage out of vans at the more expensive hotels in Anchorage. Your initial question might be: "Andrew, why didn't you just go to the airport and pickup your bags?". Good question, a couple reasons: 1) The airport is an absolutely war-torn jungle right now. The last thing I want to do is go wait in another 45 minute line...or more...and then have to pay for airport parking because Alaska misplaced my bags. 2) After 50 hrs of travel in 4 cities, I had a splitting headache...similar to the one I had when I got my vaccine booster. So I was not going to unnecessarily expose anyone while waiting for results. (Andrew from the future here, it was negative, whew!) Alaska told me my bags would be delivered on the 5th...and they weren't. I called again on the 6th...and they said they were there with a note saying I was going to pick them up? They re-asked for my info, like they did on the 5th, and said they would be delivered at 4pm. 4pm came and went, no bags. At 6:30pm, I got my COVID results back, negative! I went to go get Pho to celebrate. Still no bags. I thought I was probably going to have to nag Alaska Airlines again. (this time I would just go get them myself) As I was leaving the Pho place (Phonatik, my favorite), I saw 3 missed calls. (my phone is on silent when I'm dining with my partner, I'm not an animal!) 2 from BAC, and 1 from my neighbor. No text messages from BAC, but there was one from my neighbor. They were going to leave my bags in the snow in front of my house because they didn't want to go up the stairs. So my neighbor offered to take the bags in for them. *deep breath* Few things about this: 1) Why could a professional company like BAC, that slings bags for retirees all summer long at The Captain Cook not go up the same stairs I, FedEx, UPS, USPS, and Door Dash drivers go up daily/weekly? No idea. (Why this matters: the bags are out of view from the street when they are up the stairs in front of my door, they are VERY VISIBLE from the street where they planned to leave them) 2) They didn't know I have an amazing relationship with my neighbor...but they just dropped them off with him anyway? Not impressed BAC. Learn how to walk up some stairs. It's the least you can do when you are 3 hours (or 2 days) late for a delivery. Also, try texting as well as calling. read more

We used BAC for all our transports to and from hotel and airports. Every driver was courteous, prompt, and friendly. All vehicles supplied a bottle of drinking water which was much appreciate. All vehicles were clean. We would use this service again. read more

Driver cutoff people. Speeds. We felt sick after getting to the airport. Don't bother. Arrogant.

We used BAC Transportation during our recent visit to Alaska, on three separate occasions. For two days we had a private driver for the entire day, and the third was a two hour transfer. All three situations were amazing, from the staff who answered to the phones to the drivers themselves. For the two full days our driver was Sylvester, and he went above and beyond to make our journey enjoyable, and was accommodating to our needs. He was much more than a driver, as he made many scenic stops along with way. For the 2 hour transfer we had Barbara, who was equally as amazing, and made a stop along where we took a photo we will be using for our Holiday card. I would highly recommend BAC for any transportation needs throughout Alaska. They took a lot of the stress off, and made our family vacation more memorable by being part of it. read more

We had a group of VIPs in town from Spain and needed every aspect of their trip to go perfectly! BAC did an amazing job of working with us and making sure that nothing fell through the cracks, which was no easy feat considering that we kept changing the itinerary up to the last second! Their JetWay service was AMAZING... We arrived in Anchorage, AK and started exiting the plane only to find our BAC chauffeur standing in the JetWay with a sign and our name on it. He greeted us and took us straight out the door and down the stairs to a waiting vehicle that was just for us. What an AMAZING experience that was. The chauffeur Lorenzo was perfect. Made sure we were settled, offered us water and explained the behind the scenes at the airport as he took us to get our bags. Once we had our bags we were on the way to our hotel. I didn't receive the normal flexibility and good service while trying to arrange limo transportation to & from a dinner for my staff. This is confusing - they INSIST on a two-hour rental. What about people that want to bring a group to and from an event, like a dinner? I wanted to arrange a drop off and pick up for my staff to dinner - minimum 2 hours, resisted splitting the hours, and generally weren't as easy to deal with as they had been in the past. Not everyone wants to go drive around town for a couple hours like it's a high school prom, and $475 for back and forth to a dinner party is unreasonable. Not my first rodeo - and not the first time I've brought my staff here & there, but I'll look for other options. read more

Although at a bit of a premium, BAC has, far and away, the newest, best, and largest fleet in town. My only qualm would be that they aren't as willing/eager to provide on-call cars as other local limousine companies. read more

What an amazing time we had for my Birthday party. These guys were awesome! The level of professionalism from booking to execution was spot on. They picked us up at our house and took me and twelve of my friends on my B-day adventure which included neon put-put, dinner and dancing. Then they took us not only back to my house where all of my friends parked the vehicles but also insisted on taking all my friends home so they wouldn't drive. WORST...EXPERIENCE...EVER...AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS. Consider the following: (1) I ordered a Hummer limo and was downgraded TWICE because the Hummer I had actually ordered was rented out from underneath me to another group, and then, the Cadillac replacement suddenly needed to be "serviced" 30 minutes before my picked up time...so we was given no option but to ride in a Chevy Tahoe limo; (2) the Chevy Tahoe limo (that I didn't even order) had a trashy interior (e.g., gigantic crack in the minibar, torn seats, and a stereo that didn't work)--all passengers were mordified, but we had no choice due to the short notice of the downgrade; (3) when I voiced my complaint, the owner called me AFTER THE FACT and explained that not only was he not going to refund any money, he refused to even provide a discounted rate for the terrible experience; and (4) the OWNER RESPONDED to my frustration by stating, and I quote, "[...] don't be a dick." Not only had the birthday girl not been in a limo before, she was told it would be a hummer. This experience was certainly a surprise to her--but in a very bad way. After the experience, the birthday girl expressed her gratitude to me for trying but stated that a taxicab would have been a better experience. I was humiliated. NO ONE SHOULD PAY FOR LUXURY AND RECEIVE LESS THAN SUBSTANDARD CARE. I WOULDN'T PUT MY ENEMY IN THAT LIMO. read more

I never got to actually use their service, but I'd like to thank their sales reps / booking agents, specifically Rosa. I greatly appreciated her patience, kindness and professionalism. My parents, aunts and uncles were headed to Alaska for a cruise, but their flight from home was delayed which in turn threw off the rest of their travel itinerary. They were now stuck in Anchorage with no way to get to Seward as they missed the train already. I called BAC Transportation and Rosa explained everything to me in detail and they were able to accommodate my family on such short notice. Rosa was incredibly patient and found my family a bus that would fit them and their luggage and pick them up at the airport at their arrival time and get them to the port to make it onto their cruise. When I get the chance to visit Alaska I'll be sure to go to BAC if I ever need my own transportation services! read more

If I could give these people less than one star I would. Spent over 3 hours trying to secure vehicle for my wedding day which is supposed to be the most special day of our life. Deborah who answered the phone initially, while was trying to be helpful, unfortunately had either just started working there or had zero training. With every question she had to put me on hold and go ask someone else for the answers and get back to me. Finally she sent me a quote and when I call to give my credit card information (of course it goes without saying, I was put on hold yet again) she comes back and tells me the vehicle is already rented to someone else. I asked to speak to the manager. Another gentleman gets on the phone and explains to me the vehicle is not available and says he get me a bus. Reluctantly with no other choice I agreed to go with it only to find out they were going to charge me close to $240 more for the bus. I explained to him I don't think it is right and the least they can do is honor the price they quoted me for the first vehicle. At that point he explains that he doesn't have the authority to lower the price and needs to ask his supervisor. He puts me on hold for over 10 minutes. After coming back online, first words out of his mouth are "oh I thought you hung up the phone already". After putting me on hold AGAIN, a third person comes on the line and introduces himself as the manager and tells me the vehicle was never available to begin with and Deborah should have never quoted me in the first place. So because of this mistake he said he was willing to give me $15/hour off. Forgive me but somehow I don't think that's doing me a favor. After spending hours trying to arrange transportation it was all just a big waste of time. Do your self a favor and find a different vendor. You go with these guys and your special day will be a big disappointment!! read more

I've worked with BAC for years and everytime I book a trip for a client of mine, the dispatchers are friendly, the drivers professional and the vehicles clean. If they weren't, I would never keep putting clients with them. I will absolutely continue using them for years to come because nobody in town compares to BAC. read more

This place doesn't have enough staff, so they are rude and have a problem with any request changes you might have. I tallked to Charlie Grimm who said he was in charge and he didn't care if we gave their company any business or not. I told him we would have to call another place if they couldn't help us and he said go ahead. Which we did. For not being an corporate account I always wonder if the fare of limousine type service will be reasonable. I have found BAC plenty fair - especially in a town like Anchorage for a new looking, and clean vehicle (less than New York and about the same price for Louisville, KY), Of course with everything else in Alaska during summer rate months call early and confirm the rate -- same thing is true for hotel rooms. I have found all vehicles clean and without the smell of smoke and warmed up (extra nice in the winter time in AK). My experience is they have extremely trustworthy drivers as I have left my iPhone and iPad mini and they let me know, kept them secure and returned them back to me. From a night on the town I usually tend to plan things at the last minute ... From a nite at the performing arts to dinner downtown BAC has been very accommodating. Limited Taxi's in anchorage and most drivers work the graveyard shift to make the most money. I've found the cost of a car is worth the frustration and waiting for a cab at times. Ohh and a small thing, but they have always provided bottled water which is especially nice when being picked up at the Airport or leaving a restaurant. read more

BAC picked a group of us traveling together at the Anchorage Airport at. 1am that was reserved with our credit card. When the driver arrived, we paid with cash $180 plus tip. After a week we noticed that the credit card was charged fully. When we called the BAC, the said the driver never received cash. Be careful and make sure you get a receipt. Management said it was our word vs theirs. We are disputing it with our credit card company. I will not be using this company again nor will the large booking company we used. read more

This was a trip of a lifetime for my husband and I. Having BAC Transportation welcome us to Alaska and BAC wish us farewell was nothing short of perfect. We used BAC limousine for group (30 people) charter transportation between Anchorage and Seward. The booking was convenient and easy, and the vehicle and driver were professional and punctual. We paid an hourly rate, and stopped at the Wildlife Conservation Center on the way there. They even provided an ice chest for us. Upon researching other companies, BAC was upfront about the costs and fair about their pricing. Tip is automatically included, but the service would have merited this anyways. Of note, it seems that all companies add the charge for return to their home base automatically. Apparently, this is mandated by Alaska law. read more

Do not use this service. We got a limo for a night out on the town. The seats were ripped up, the driver was extremely rude and they tried to charge us for damage they claimed one of us did and showed us a blurry picture of a part that had obviously been glued together to begin with. They said they had video of the damage happening but when I asked to see it they said it was private. Seriously. read more

So we land in Anchorage at 1 in the morning. We were so tired and just wanted to get to our hotel. We got our luggage and headed outside the airport to catch our shuttle. I noticed a BAC Transportation shuttle parked in front of our hotel shuttle. That shuttle driver started to back up, and since we were parked right behind him, our driver honked because he was worried the BAC driver was going to back in to him. The BAC driver got out of the car and was obviously enraged. He started to verbally berate our driver, yelling and causing a big scene. Our driver ignored him, but that just seemed to anger him further. He started to personally insult our driver, so we hurried and got in our shuttle hoping to avoid him. I shut my door, but the BAC driver opened the door and yelled over me and my husband to continue berating our driver. I tried to shut the door but he wouldn't let it go. Our driver slowly pulled away and the guy finally gave up. It was nearly 1:30 a.m., dark, and we've got some enraged jerk yelling personal insults at our driver when all he tried to do was avoid an accident. I was worried that the BAC driver was going to hurt our driver because he was so angry. It was quite unnerving. If this is the kind of people that BAC Transportation employs, I would certainly never, never use or recommend their service. read more

This company is a complete joke, Charlie the "CEO" is a real piece of work. I rented a limo to take my wife and I out for an anniversary dinner. As soon as we stepped in to the very dated and worn car that smelled like cat piss and dirty socks. Should have refused service right then! This being our night we figured we could roll the windows down and air it out. Only one of the windows had controls in the back that worked, the other window we had to ask the driver to roll up. We make it to dinner hoping to not smell like the must that lingered in the car. Thank god we picked a great place to eat dinner, with out that the night would have been a bust. On the way back windows still down trying to get rid of the smell we noticed the car was starting to chug or jump. When then rolled the privacy glass down ( that one worked ) to ask the driver if were are going to make it. He says I think so. The driver pulled over because he did not know if the car would be able to continue to drive. There we sit on our anniversary in a vacant parking lot next to a gas station waiting for the driver to see what he was going to do. He was terrified to call his company to let them know what was happening, not until after I said I will call them he decided to call them. We were about to call a cab to come get us. After standing outside for 20 minutes we ask the driver to just take us home. ( 2 hours sooner than we paid for ). I called the Limo company to let them know what happen that night, they said someone will call the next day.... you guessed it. No call until I called on Monday. This is where it gets great. 5 minutes after I hang up I get a call from the CEO! " this is Charlie the CEO of BAC whats the emergency" he goes on to tell me he buried his dad on Saturday and wants to know why I called with an emergency and asked "what do you want" I explain no emergency, just want someone to address the disaster that happen on Saturday with your company. He says you got to dinner like you wanted not until on the way back did you tell us about the smell in the car. The car was fine he said we just had to replace one part in it. "what do you want" he says again. I will give you an hour back, since you only paid for 4 hours and got the 5th one free. This was the special deal they offered when I call to reserve. he then goes onto say "we did not charge you for the 5th hour so i do not owe it to you " I knew right then what I was dealing with. He says I will give you 2 hours back. I told him I want my money back or set up another time in a different car to cover what we paid for. Before he hangs up he says " don't ever call us again for service"! We finally agreed on something. THIS PLACE IS NOT REPUTABLE BY ANY MEANS, WE HAVE LIMITED OPTIONS IN ANCHORAGE BUT I SUGGEST DRIVING YOURSELF OR TAKING A CAB. YOU MAY END UP HAVING TO AFTER ALL. read more
