Jeff is absolutely fantastic. When we bought our new construction house, we wanted the locks changed immediately because heaven only knows how many subcontractors had keys to our new house. Jeff literally met my family an hour after closing and re-keyed everything for us. I also asked him to render his professional opinion on how we could best upgrade the security of our doors, and he had great suggestions that we had him install. A month or so later, he swung by to adjust some small items that needed adjusting as the house had settled and the front door had started to sag a bit and the catches on the door were getting out of alignment; he didn't even charge us for that follow up visit to tinker with and realign everything. I highly recommend Anchor Locksmith! Mo is knowledgeable about his craft, professional, courteous and conscientious about his work. He repaired my camper van's engine and ignition control units. He came through for me and went the extra mile to insure he'd finish the repairs so I could start the engine. I called Anchor on a Monday to inquire about changing out my front door locks, as the ones in the door were the original ones from when my house was built (back in 1965 or so)... We set an appointment for Wednesday. The technician was on schedule, knowledgeable, and professional. He got the job done quick, and explained his work process prior to doing anything, and also paused to explain when a little bit of additional work needed to be done (drilling to adjust for the difference in lock brands). When all was completed, he even offered to vacuum up the dust from the drilling... All in all, a very pleasant experience... I would recommend giving them a call. As a plus, if you like supporting small, local businesses, they are locally (Bowie) owned, and have been in business for 40 years... They also did not have a problem installing a lock that I had purchased at Lowe's... some locksmiths I called wanted to charge their overtime rate because they weren't supplying the lock. read more

Based on the great yelp reviews, I called this company to rekey some locks. I spoke to a technician and he was very friendly and professional. I didn't get estimates from other places but the price seemed reasonable. The technician was able to come a little earlier than scheduled and was done in no time. Jeff arrived on time and rekeyed 7 locks, tightened a loose deadbolt, and fixed the direction of a deadbolt that had been installed upside down in just over 30 minutes - no mess, no messing around. I made the appointment earlier in the week and as promised the locksmith was prompt, efficient and installed two double cylinder locks and rekeyed all exterior doors to one key. My front door froze in the locked position. Checked web and yellow pages and was SHOCKED at how many "local locksmiths" are NOT. Called a handyman I trust and he mentioned Anchor. I called and spoke to real, live human being who politely quizzed me about the problem and arranged next day service. Actually, early next morning service. I called at 0700 and talked to a human...incredible. Wait...it gets better. When is the last time you receive a call telling you a technician is 5 minutes behind, at your appointment time? Well that happened. Anchor's guy arrived, diagnosed the problem in 5, didn't have the part, asked ME WHAT WAS A CONVENIENT RETURN TIME, and lo and behold...arrived at that time to install the part they didn't have in their truck at the time of their original visit. I wrote a check and they emailed me the invoice / receipt same day (i.e. they are automated) Can everything please be this simple? Would recommend Anchor without reservations to one and all. Jeff arrived right when he said he would, no time frame to wait like most services. He was extremely professional, even taking his shoes off before entering the house to work. He re-keyed locks, installed double cylinder dead bolts, installed a brand new dead bolt for a door and was in and out in a timely fashion without leaving any mess behind. He offered us advice that saved us some money in the meantime which was a respectable honest gesture. In my opinion- this company is not professional at all. Began work on my vehicle without even confirming that it was the correct vehicle. He had no VIN# for the vehicle, didn't ask to see a title or proof of ownership (which is illegal)...he only knew the make and the model. Didn't contact anyone before working on the vehicle (so if your looking to steal a vehicle this company might work great for you). Another locksmith company had already made a key for us. When we arrived, Anchor Locksmith Service had already made a key...again having never contacted anyone at our business. When we told him we didn't need the key he got angry, and HE BROKE A KEY OFF INSIDE THE IGNITION. IT HAD CLEARLY BEEN DONE INTENTIONALLY (vandalism). It was broken at the tip then shoved into the ignition cylinder...this is not the way a key accidentally breaks. When we contacted him he claimed he never tried to start the car...so there was no way it was his fault. However, we paid him for an ignition switch key...so he had to have tried it to make sure it worked. We started the vehicle before we left the previous day so I know it wasn't like that before he touched it. He said we would have to pay him in order to have the key extracted. The person who did all of this is supposedly the OWNER of the company! Con-artist, dishonest, illegal practices, bad attitudes...these are the reasons to stay far, far away from this company. There are plenty of other good honest locksmiths out there, please stay far away from this one. read more
