This place should have 5 starts. Everything was great. You pick your own table, inside or in the patio deck. Then you walk up to the bar and place your order which will be brought up to your table. After just arriving to our beach rental condo, we sought an easy meal post our 8-hour drive. Anchor Draft House was in the process of closing but readily provided us with a dinner order of pizza, wings and dinner salads. We were greeted with kindness and open arms and left with the most delicious food! The pizza sauce was flavored just right for the thin crust, the chicken wings, tasted yummy with their honey BBQ and the dinner salad a nice blend of straightforward lettuce, onion and tomato topped with a bit of mozzarella and ranch dressing. This place is great! Stopped in for some wings; also ordered seasoned fries, a bourbon and coke, and a few Firestone walker cali squeeze beers.... The wings were very flavorful and perfectly cooked, crispy on the outside! The fries were also cooked and seasoned very well. The beers were so refreshing and really good! The only negative ... is that I wish the server would have recommended adding extras to the seasoned fries (cheese, sour cream, chives). If you're going to go have a beer, the staff is very good and very friendly, there's good atmosphere, and a very good location on the water. But steer clear of ordering food. We had a few pizzas and a few salads, and the food was marginal to poor at best. The salads were basic iceberg, with tomato/cucumber/onion..but zero flavor. And the pizza is middle of the road, grocery store pizza. We were in town camping so decided to go take a drive and ended up at Anchor draft and Pizzeria. We really enjoyed the outside waterfront seating. The Hawaiian pizza was very good with crispy crust. The wings were kind of expensive but were very meaty and good. We tried the 5 beer samples for $8 and enjoyed those. Ordered takeout from Anchor while at the beach for our yearly family vacation. Had to call multiple times to get anyone to answer. When they finally answered we ordered jalapeño caps, and Angry Fries. They do not have a menu on their website so we ordered based on the menu here on Yelp. We tried to order the White Pizza and they said they don't carry it anymore. Got to the restaurant to pick up out appetizers (since we ordered pizza from elsewhere) they told me in store, that the fries we ordered, are not even on their current menu. The girl who took our order is "new and didn't know" Very upset. I never write reviews, but this one had to be written. I come down to Atlantic beach yearly with a group of guys. We can put back some food. We did anchor bar last year and the pizza was great. Very impressive taste, we genuinely loved all of the flavors we tried. This year the pizza tasted like cardboard after we waited an hour and 20 minutes for a call in order. The dough had no flavor and the juicy toppings and finish from last year is gone. This place has gone extremely downhill. I've frankly never had pizza that bad and even the frozen pizza we bought for eating late at night when drunk was better than the trash anchor pizza sold us. Do not waste your money here. read more

I wanted to like this place a lot because we vacation at a condo every year in Indian Beach and this location is walking distance, which is always a plus. The good: you can't beat the view. Gorgeous dining on the waterway. The draft beer selection was great for a small spot. I also thought the pizza was tasty. The not-so-good: the ordering system. Having to fight through people sitting at the bar to place an order (and to close out a tab) was less than ideal. Also we ordered an appetizer of wings that did not arrive until we had almost finished our pizza, with the explanation that the ticket "got lost." That's fine, it happens, but the wings were small and not really worth the wait or the money. Oooofff - what a disappointment. The pizza is not good - I will give them that it was crisp to the center, but otherwise the dough is bland and has no character and the toppings on the Margarita pizza were not great, the sauce could have been canned (and if it was lovingly home made, I apologise, but....), the mozzarella was, well I don't know, but it wasn't very cheesy. Yes, it's pizza at the beach, but Michaelangelo's Pizza at either end of the island makes better pizza and that's at the beach as well. They have a good looking selection of beers, but my craft beer was served in a plastic cup, which sets a tone less craft beer and more Saturday Nights's alright for Fighting. I'm not sure how their ordering, seating and general system is going to work in the crush of a summer weekend, but time will tell on that particular element. I hope they can get better - Lord knows we could do with more options in the middle of the island, but this isn't it as it currently stands. read more

Two of our pizzas were delivered to our table and then we waited over 30 minutes for the food for the other two people at our table to receive their food, even though we all ordered at the same time. We stopped by here when it was raining on our way to the aquarium. The parking lot was full and flooding. It has been raining for days. We went in and the woman behind the counter showed us a menu. A pleasant young man with a deep voice, Carter, told us we could order when ready. I ordered for myself and my youngest children and she quickly spun the iPad around to pay. At the same time, a gentleman came in and reviewed the menu. Placed an order and left. He then returned with his dog and went outside to watch the water. My daughter was so hungry I barely was able to take a picture of her small kid's cheese pizza. My son was in love with his wings. While we were waiting Carter talked to my son about which sports he liked. He was very nice and easy going. He told us about when he played football. My son thoroughly enjoyed his wings. So they were a hit. He likes them fried for a little while for a crispy skin. The wings didn't stand a chance. When my pizza came it did not have the spinach described on it. I asked for spinach after reviewing the menu again and a small container of spinach was brought out. It was supposed to be topped with spinach and garlic but alas it was not. The crust of the pizza was very soft, bread-like. I grew up in NY so I prefer a crispier texture for pizza. After a slice,​ I asked for a box and packed it up. I figured I could crisp in my oven or in my cast iron pan. What bothered me was watching everyone else order. No one paid up front. The gentleman with the dog finished his pizza came inside and paid. Two other men came as I was packing. Ordered beers took beers from the coolers without up front payment. Two other young ladies came in ordered, ate and chatted with the woman behind the bar and a young man from the kitchen. Without paying. I was the only one who had to pay up front. We went here for dinner this past Saturday for dinner while we was on vacation. First off beautiful location great choice of beers & the pizza was amazing. The bad part started was when they didn't even have sweet tea what southern restaurant doesn't have sweet tea. Second they didn't have barley even any of the wing sauces that their menu showed. An third the service was awful being a server myself I am always really understanding but we was never checked on had to wait forever at the bar to even pay the bill. Then asked for a refill of my kids drink an the waitress said she needed to get the tables order first an it would have to wait. This place is literally home to my favorite wings, and favorite cheese pizza. Not to mention the beer selection is great, the view out back on the deck is one of my favorite in all of Atlantic beach, and they aren't as crowded as the dockside restaurants in Beaufort - you're able to come without a reservation but definitely expect a wait during busy hours and nice weekends. Their bar is open so if you're coming without kids, the wait for a table is no problem since there's a gorgeous dock and you can enjoy drinks while you wait. I like the hottest wings. I warn you: they are really really hot! Totally worth it for me every time though. Don't come with kids during busy hours - they don't have a waiting area. We were waiting at the bar to get a seat, and ended up waiting with beers at our table for take out, which took probably just as long as it would have taken to be served. They are just starting to get popular and may be understaffed. If you have kids, I recommend coming here at lunch. read more
