First visit to the Raleigh outlet of this Buffalo staple that claims to have invented the Buffalo wing. It's an L-shaped room with the bar in the corner. It's a lively sports bar with plenty of tvs for fans of every sport. Classic rock plays in the background (better than the blare of the TV sports commentators). It was a full house on this Friday night but not so loud that we had to shout to converse. We all tried.... Wait for it.... WINGS! The wings themselves are nice sized, no scrawny bites here. The medium sauce is perfect... Some heat, flavorful and not overpowering. Wings are sauced perfectly - tossed but not swimming in sauce. I prefer extra crispy, and mine were prepared that way, as ordered. Sweet potato fries, regular fries and tots are good... Crispy and hot, but not special. It's only week 2 so service is choppy as things settle in. No worries, that will improve quickly. This is a great place.... Give it a try!

Beef on Weck with Onion Rings
    Lori R.

We have been eagerly anticipating the opening of this new restaurant in North Raleigh, knowing it's an offshoot of the Anchor Bar in Buffalo, NY, home of the original Buffalo wings. Four of us checked it out this Sunday and were quite pleased with our experience. We are also fans of Beef on Weck which is also from upstate NY, so we had to try their version along with their wings. The Beef was so tender and we loved that they serve it with real horseradish on the side, along with a tasty au jus. And we all liked that the weck (roll) had just the right amount of salt. It wasn't overbearing. Fries good. Slightly sweet perhaps? Wings nicely executed. Onion Rings got the thumbs up from Husband. I'm happy to report they have a combo on the menu for around $20 that comes with the Beef on Weck sandwich, plus 5 wing pieces (your choice of sauce, but really you gotta get the original), and a side. Great deal! Curious about their pizza, we also got a large pepperoni to go for other meals. It was good, but I'm a thin-crust Gal and this one is super thick. I found the sauce to have a tomato flavor, but not really a pizza flavor. It was like eating bread with tomato sauce on it (lighter on the sauce than I prefer also), with cheese and pepperoni. They do use the good cup-kinda pepperoni though. If you're a Bills fan, this is your place to watch the game. If not, perhaps go when they aren't playing, cause it gets packed and loud. TIP: Get on their email list for $10 off.

Buffalo bar, Buffalo food - Anchor bar based in Buffalo- finally here in NC Plenty of parking, spacious seating friendly staff. We ordered beer- they carry local, domestic and imported. They also have wine and signature drinks. The wings are good- not a Buffalo medium- more a Raleigh Medium - I am originally from Buffalo- the wings come with Carrots and Celery- these came with only celery. Wings were tasty- I will order them hot next time. We also ordered Pizza - pepperoni was perfect- dough was not even close- it was flat. Place was clean music was loud - lots of TV's- Manager came around and we had a nice Chat:)

Great spot. Service was great, very friendly and attentive. The vibe is very cool, with plenty of TV's and sports decor. I got onion rings and wings. The wings were out of this world. The Spicy garlic Parmesan were so flavorful. I'm in town visiting for just three days but am already thinking about making a second visit. Check it out!

First time trying this place and OMG was it good. I ordered the wings and weck. The roast beef was done perfectly and tasted amazing. The bun was very fresh as well. The wing were covered with a buffalo ranch dry rub which were delicious. The fries were seasoned well too

These wings were just as good as the originals from Buffalo New York. Fries, tots, onion rings all fried to perfection.

The location is cleverly tucked around the corner from the Hibernian Irish Pub, with subtle arrow signs guiding you there -- discreet enough that you'd never stumble upon it without doing your homework first. Inside, the ambiance delivers: cozy, warmly lit, with seating for various group sizes and a handsome L-shaped bar anchoring the space. It was a Saturday evening and relatively quiet when we arrived, so we expected attentive service. Unfortunately, it never came. We sat at a two-person table just off the bar with a direct sightline to the staff -- plenty of whom were engaged in extended personal conversation with one another. Our first round was a highlight: a well-made Old Fashioned and a solid Dirty Martini. Pricey for the area, but not unreasonable given the setting. It was downhill from there. After finishing our drinks, we had to flag down our server for a second round -- despite the fact they were standing six feet in front of us. After that second round, we'd seen enough. Getting the check proved equally frustrating; multiple attempts at eye contact with the staff went nowhere, and we ultimately had to walk up to the bar to close out our tab ourselves. The bones are all here for something special. The Dry Cleaners just needs to match its atmosphere with the service to back it up.

So cool! We got a flight of light wines and all were different and pretty decent. I got a pasta dish and really liked the blackened chicken. I'd just be happy to have it on its own. I think the decor could have some softer furnishings to break up the hard angles and lean into the cozy vibe a bit more. Lots of angles and metal. I'd pop in some soft ivory stools at the bar end for a really lux vibe. Hostess and server were nice. Efficient. Definitely a place to keep on rotation.

The tables are spacious and comfy. We had one along the New York themed wall. We started with $5 cocktails, I had the Bellini. It was peach and prosecco. Very delicious. Then I had the lemon ricotta pancakes with hash. This dish was so good. The pancakes were light and fluffy and had a beautiful lemon and blueberry taste and had a dollop of mascarpone on top. The hash was well seasoned and cooked crispy how I like it. Hubby had sausage omelette. He liked it. Daughter had French toast and she loved it. Our waiters name was Nick and he was sweet and efficient. Everyone in the restaurant made us feel welcome and valued. All in all a wonderful brunch in a great new restaurant. Both of us didn't expect the full nice restaurant dine in experience that they have going on here. On the left is an area for pickup and delivery and on the right it's a really nice dining room. We tried it out early on a Friday night. Got lucky with a table near the open kitchen where we got to see some amazing and great-smelling food come out. I was even more surprised at the quality of wine offerings by the glass, and went with a nice Chianti. He got a Boss Martini with blue cheese olives. He said it was good, although not as dirty as he would have preferred. I had seen a review online of their hot honey pepperoni pizza which is what had taunted me to suggest this place, so we shared a large one, which came out looking just as fabulous and tasted pretty darn great. Only oddity was one side there were a couple pieces that He felt were just slightly under done. Love the dollops of ricotta, the burst of flavor from the tiny peppers and the cup pepperoni. Pretty sure the sauce is just crushed tomatoes, which works well to let the toppings shine. If there was actual hot honey on top we couldn't tell. The large is indeed large, and we took plenty home for delicious leftovers. I will add that Service was super friendly, but we waited a long time for our ready drinks to be brought from the bar. And our pizza sat a bit before being brought to us also. Both minor in the grand scheme of things. We will definitely be back, especially since they gave us a card for a free appetizer with a pasta dish.
