Anatolia Turkish restaurant is a tucked away little gem (also a hidden gem nearby is Sonobana sushi but different story.) I can't speak to the authenticity of the Turkish cuisine here, but I can speak to the food quality. Starting off is a beautiful focaccia loaf with a mix of light spices and olive oil. It's odd to say bread is relaxing and refreshing but here it is. The hummus is quite the same, lightly spiced but bright and refreshing. The ezme is interesting. To me it resembles a Turkish version of chips and salsa, very tomato forward but lightly spiced. Only complaint of the meal for me was the lamb kabobs. I am notorious for over seasoning things, and that is simply how my palette is. The lamb was cooked perfectly, not dried out and moist, however I would've liked a little more seasoning. The Billur kabob has been a repeat favorite of mine over the years. The combination of sautéed eggplant, pashamal sauce and onions/peppers/mushrooms creates an explosion of varying textures and tastes. Everything sort of melds together perfectly once it's cooked on the stone oven and becomes a cohesive entree better than the sum of its parts. Last minute came here to eat the other night. I heard from a friend that this place was authentic and legit. I got the grilled platter to try all the different meats. They were all very soft and tender but the chicken and beef lacked some flavor and seasoning. Anatolia maintains magnificent ratings including a 4.3 on Yelp, a 4.4 on Google, and a 4.5 on TripAdvisor with nearly 1,500 combined reviews at the end of 2024! In fact, a few years after the Ustunkaya brothers opened the establishment in 2003, it started burning up the user-drive platforms. That was sufficient to inspire its addition to my local restaurant bucket list. It only took me 20 years to get there. I blame Nashville for opening up so many incredible eateries!! Having eaten in various regions of Turkey, I can confirm that the food at Anatolia is very authentic! The interior is quite pleasant, dare I say even romantic. The menu is extensive and provides a superb sampling of the varied flavors of Turkish food. Having sampled a little bit of everything, I'll provide my opinion. This should assist in your selection process from a such a vast menu of tempting options. The Stuffed Grape Leaves, Fillo Dough Rolls, Kunefe dessert, and complimentary fresh warm bread are all pretty good. The lamb chops are very good, tender and beautifully cooked with mild Turkish spices. But it's the olive oil dip with spices that comes with the starter bread that's among the most amazing things you'll eat here, as well as the spectacular rice that accompanies many of the main dishes! And the hummus may just be the best in the entire city of Nashville! That's their greatest dish! Pro tip: Pour some of that complimentary dip into the hummus and it's pure magic! Anatolia is a great spot for the adventurous eater curious about Turkish food and has similarities to Greek food for reference. I was especially impressed that when I ordered the Kunefe dessert at the beginning of the meal, something that takes 20 minutes to make fresh, my waiter cleverly put in the order so that it came out just as I was finishing my main course. Nice! They also offered a free Turkish tea to a woman awaiting a to-go order that didn't come out until seven or eight minutes after she had arrived. Anatolia is easily one of my favorite restaurants in Nashville. My boyfriend and I went for dinner for our anniversary this week and I went for my birthday last year. Both times and many other times, it has always been so good. At this point I always get the lamb Shish kabob and if you like lamb then you can absolutely not go wrong with them. My boyfriend got the Beef Kofta kabobs and they were yummy as well in addition to the stuffed grape leaves. Parking is easy and while you can make a reservation to secure a spot we didn't have any trouble walking in on a weeknight and securing a table for 2. The food is incredible and priced well. Rose hip tea was a nice touch, which was filled without my asking (though I was contemplating asking). Adana Kabob was very good, except I found it to be slightly greasy for my taste. For a long time we talked about Anatolia with our neighbors as a good place for traditional Turkish ethnic food. Finally we did it. Restaurant is located in the strip mall. Nothing to bring to your attention to walk in. That's why Yelp is helpful and I enjoy writing reviews. It's a traditional seating, nice clean table, what I like because reminds me of the my home. The grape leaves were out of this world the little filo rolls stuffed with feta were my favorite thing we ate that night and the hummus was some of the best I have had. After experiencing Immersive Van Gogh, I was ready for dinner. I did a search and found Anatolia Turkish Restaurant. I love Turkish food. It felt fitting to have dinner at an eatery on my final full day in Nashville. The drive over here was three minutes during rush hour. I parked practically in front of the restaurant, which is located in a plaza. I backed into a spot and headed over to the main door. There have been times where I can't open the front door in my life. It happened twice at two different eateries in Charlotte, NC. Add this restaurant to my list. I'm not exactly weak, but I tugged at the door handle and it didn't budge. A woman opened the door for me on the opposite side. Weird. It's me. I was seated at a nice table, off to the side of the restaurant. I loved the artwork of Istanbul everywhere, which made me miss the city. It was super hot outside. I wanted an unsweetened iced tea. My weakness is Turkish tea. I loved getting Turkish tea at the bazaar in Istanbul. I felt that I needed to relive that joy here. My server was Marianne. She was knowledgeable and helped answer all my questions. I asked whether the Turkish tea was hot. It was. I ordered it because I missed it so much. My favourite Turkish meal is kofta. It was on the menu. I was elated and was done making my mind up. Marianne mixed the dip for my starter bread. Being stateside, the starter bread was half a loaf. It was warm. I loved that the exterior was crusty and inside was soft, just the way it should be. The dip was flavourful. I enjoyed it as I waited for my main meal. The unsweetened ice tea was excellent. The tea was strong and delightfully refreshing. My Turkish tea transported me back to Turkey. It was the real deal, served the traditional way in that iconic glass. It was black tea. It was fragrant and did not have any sugar. I loved it. My kofta dinner came. In a nutshell, it was Turkish authentic food with American portions. The kofta morsels were gigantic. In Istanbul, each one was easily half the size of what I had. The beef was done medium. I would have liked them medium-well or even well. However, each morsel was seasoned well and I loved them. Luckily, I got a skewer of veggies. They balanced the meatfest that I was enduring. The yogurt sauce kept everything light. I loved it. The rice was the perfect portion for me. It was on the smaller side. I was thankful because the kofta was extremely filling. Although I felt stuffed, my favourite Turkish dessert, kunefe, was on the menu. I asked my server how large it was. It was a decent size, but she said that she could pack whatever I couldn't eat in a box. I said yes to it. The kunefe was fabulous. It was authentic, with stretchy cheese. It was crunchy and slightly sweet. I highly recommend getting it, stuffed or not! Marianne packed up my remaining kunefe in a box and provided a plastic bag. She was great. I paid with a credit card. She ran it through and all was great. I thanked her and left with my dessert. I had it as a snack later that evening. So good! More patrons were there when I had left. I had the sampler platter as well - personally was not a fan of the grape leaves because I didn't know it was going to be cold but everything else on the platter was good especially the humus. The restaurant has a classy look inside, making it a nice date night spot. We ordered falafel for the appetizer, which was lukewarm. As usual we were looking for Mediterranean food in Nashville. We visited Anatolia and the place was so nice and romantic with deemed lights and beautiful wallpapers around. We had a chicken and a beef Shish Kebab dish and some hummus and falafels (not pictured) the food was enough for us to eat a mini meal the next day it was a lot. The price was right and fiar for the amount of food we had and the service was perfectly done! Hope they make sure the food is served on time..coz kabobs make no sesne if they are not fresh out of grill...the falafel's were very dry as well.. Thank you, Yelp, for putting an otherwise obscure (to me) restaurant on my radar! The Yelp community was spot on with this one. It sits in an ordinary but nice strip mall. I made a reservation for 11:30 am on a Thursday thinking there wouldn't be many other diners there. And while we would have been seated without a reservation, it was quite busy. Our server recommended anything with lamb, the chicken stew and the lentil soup. We ate every bite. We also enjoyed the baklava. I typically don't venture out to non mainstream ethnic restaurants. One of the best restaurants in Nashville! We ate there on Saturday after shopping at Trader Joes. I had the Mediterranean Salad and Lentil Soup. The very subtle seasoning in the soup was so well balanced and very tasty. The salad was fresh and crispy. I always just like olive oil and lemon as a dressing. They did not disappoint. I have been here twice before & was never disappointed until today. I had the shrimp shish kebob. The shrimp & rice were well cooked & pretty good. The veggies were tasteless & not cooked quite enough to my liking. My husband got the beef shish kebob and ending up sending it back because the beef was so tough.
