Red Snapper

An absolutely wonderful experience. The food was marvelous and the staff was super friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating.

Gorgeous interior.

I made a reservation here for a romantic Friday evening in their exquisitely moody dining space. It's a decidedly chic, intimate interior design with warm lighting and dark wood tables. They charge a bit more to reserve within the restaurant, but you do get the added benefit of ensuring everyone is vaccinated and boosted appropriately (the host will check at the door). Service was impeccable, and we were seated slightly before our reservation. Our staff (calm, cool, and attentive) walked us through some of the menu offerings before we made some mouth-watering decisions. We began the evening with marinated olives, cultured butter, and sourdough. Everything was definitively made in-house, and the flavors were so bright. We followed with the Leeks Vinaigrette and Roasted Farm Cauliflower. I was a bit sceptacle when my husband ordered these, partly because I feel like every restaurant has done some variation of cauliflower recently. However, I was blown away by the balance of acid and fat in both dishes, especially the balsamic cippollini that paired with cauliflower: nothing short of amazing. For entrees, we ordered the Beet-Cured Salmon and the Cioppino (a seafood in a tomato-pepper stew). First of all, the salmon had such a perfect crust, it made an audible crunch when cutting into it, leaving only juicy, buttery flesh behind. I mopped up every single morsel of the Cioppino left behind with a second order of the house sourdough, it was that scrumptious. Considering the amount of food we ordered, you'd think we would leave something behind on the plate. We did not, given how beautiful everything was plated in addition to the explosion of flavors left on the table. We wrapped up with a shared slice of honey cake and a coffee. The honey cake reminded me a bit of a crepe cake or a German baumkuchen: tons of layered cake with creme in each crevice. It was the exact sweet note needed for this perfect dining experience. From the magnificent service to the beautiful food and artful ambiance, this is one of the best dining experiences I've ever had in the Nashville area, bar none. All I can say is, thank you, chef.

Miel serves up artfully-presented farm-to-table food. One of my friends and I made dinner reservations here on a weeknight and were seated promptly outdoors in their back patio area. At the time of our visit, Miel was only doing outdoor dining which was not a problem for us since it was nice weather and we appreciated the covid times consideration. The back patio had a tent covering and socially distant seating. I noticed lots of fresh herbs growing in their garden and it was a nice atmosphere. Our server was not very friendly and appeared aloof which set the stage for our meal. When we asked questions she didn't respond in a helpful way and we could tell she just was maybe having an off night. I get that happens but we were easy guests and always try and be friendly but we didn't get the same in return. We started with drinks--my friend ordered wine and I ordered a cocktail which we both enjoyed. Their menu changes seasonally which I appreciate about the farm-to-table restaurants. For an appetizer we split the half shell oysters which were refreshing. We each ordered the scallops for our entree, which has potatoes and a purée. At a price tag of almost $30 we were expecting a few more scallops and veggies on the plate so we were disappointed by the portions. It was actually laughable that the scallop entree had only 2 scallops on it since I think that would've been more suitable as an appetizer. I will say though that what was presented was beautiful. Overall, it was a disjointed experience. I'd give high marks for atmosphere and the food quality and presentation. However, the service was strange and we both left hungry. I can't say I'd return unless I knew a few things had changed.

"full" mocktail

I've never been one to write a review but I was just really taken aback by my experience. I went to Miel for happy hour and unfortunately they don't offer any mock-tails on their happy hour menu. I was a little shocked by this but wasn't upset and happily just ordered a mock-tail from the regular menu. What I wasn't happy about was that this was how it was served to me. Literally half full. I asked the bartender if this was correct as the glass is missing half the drink! I could not justify paying $12 for a half full MOCKtail. Was pretty shocked by his reaction and push to get me to keep it. My advise it to either fill the glass completely or at least change the glass to one that looks full. Learned my lesson for next time.

Wanted to like this place more! Had kind of rude customer service and one of dishes ordered was heavily over salted. Ambience was nice

Left us sitting for 30 minutes. We were not even given water. And the restaurant wasn't full.

Horrible service and undercooked food. If you go bring some funds and expect to go out to eat afterwards.

We said probably our last goodbye to this wonderful French- inspired restaurant. We made a…read morereservation for 2 on a Saturday at 8:15 & were sat right about then. Self-parking is always hard, but we always manage to find free street parking a couple blocks away. Service was kind & attentive & we ordered the focaccia & olive oil, Italian sausage, steak, duck, & Eton mess. The quality was outstanding & everything was cooked & seasoned perfectly. Ambience was intimate & casual but crowd & volume level picked up surprisingly as the night got later. Overall, highly recommend if you can manage to snag a reservation before they close in early June!

The meal started with herb-infused olive oil with balsamic vinegar, Parmesan, and house-made focaccia. It was good but ultimately unremarkable. What made it a little disappointing was that the other starter options were fairly limited--marinated olives, house-made potato chips, or cheese. For our hors d'oeuvre course, I ordered the potato leek soup with black and blue potato chips while my guest tried the brandade with caperberries and focaccia crostini. The potato soup was comforting but didn't have any particularly distinctive qualities compared to other versions of the dish. The brandade, which my guest had been told was somewhat similar to a fish stick, turned out to be more of a fish purée spread. It was interesting, but not quite what we expected. For the main course, I ordered the pappardelle with pesto, herb ricotta, and lemon breadcrumbs. My guest had the airline chicken with couscous, frosted carrots, feta, and pomegranate molasses. The pappardelle ended up feeling more like a dressed-up macaroni and cheese than a standout pasta dish. The airline chicken was the highlight of the meal--the flavors were distinct but worked well together, though the chicken itself was slightly dry. Service was pleasant overall, though not particularly memorable, and the décor felt like it could use a bit of refreshing. While Margot Café offers an interesting concept with its daily-changing menu, the execution felt more like American-inspired French cooking than the classic flavors I was hoping for.

Their soup of the day was spinach potato with parmesan. I did taste the soup and it was delicious. Despite having been here for awhile i think this qualifies as a hidden gem & worthy of a drive out if you are not nearby. The decor is very pretty inside & perfect for a lunch or dinner of 2 to 4 people. Menu has a lot of options & it was hard to make a selection. Luckily our server was patient & we some of the last people in for the night so no rush allowed us to take our time. Funny enough, my wife & i both ordered very similar pasta dishes. The pasta was very good & rich & made for great leftovers the next day. The real highlight for me was the bolinha de queijo appetizer which a generous portion of absolutely stuffed fried cheese balls. These are a must try. We finished with a slice of cheesecake but i ate it before i could take a photo. The pastry/dessert case here is impressive & i plan on trying some of the other choices in the near future. Now that I know what Ive been missing im going to rotate it into my frequent stops for dinner.
