By far some of the best burgers in all of Manhattan, not to mention the friendly service!

My parents and I went there for lunch today for the very first time. I got the 1/3lb burger and it was great. We all really enjoyed our burgers and their fries were so well seasoned. I wish they had some gluten-free sides. We really liked that they use Alma cheese and it was so good. One of the best burgers in Manhattan! We'll be back! read more

I consider myself a connoisseur of hole-in-the-wall restaurants and this place fits the bill. Don't be turned away by the small appearance. The only thing small about it is the building The little burgers are 1/3 pound for Pete's sake. The big ones are a full pound. If you are ordering fries, you better have a couple of friends with you. If you can leave this place hungry, see a doctor you might have a tapeworm. I had the Ruben and it was cooked tto perfection and wasn't a soggy mess li Ke most places serve. I was also able to snag a bite of my wife's burger, while she wasn't looking. Good food, good service, what else could you ask for. Next time I am gonna try a shake. Stopped in for a quick burger while visiting the inlaws. Not much indoor seating, more of a grab and go place. Go for a sing cheeseburger with everything. 10 or do minutes later I'm sitting in my car digging into a hot burger made exactly how I ordered it. Burger seems like a preformed patty but a good one. Are kidding me? This place is great! After Wabash closed, I was worried that Manhattan's best burger would be from Freddy's Steakburgers (which is pretty great). Fortunately, Ana's Burger Shack is there to reign supreme. I'd driven by it a lot and never thought to go in, and this is not a mistake that you should make...you don't need to carry around that kind of regret. The burgers are 1/3 lb patties of locally sourced beef and topped with local cheese. I had the double, and it was perfect. The buns are big potato buns that compress nicely to contain the juice and cheese. The burgers are expertly seasoned, too. Seriously, just get in there and try it!! The fries...beer battered...crispy...salty goodness!!! The value is great. You'll spend more for less at a Freddy's or Five Guys. Ana's is my new Manhattan, KS go-to burger. read more

Really the BEST I have had recently! This little gem has changed names and is now Ana's Burger Shack. It is off the beaten path, but apparently many locals know it, as our BW hotel room clerk Sam sent us there, and many come for take out. It is quick and yummy and had great local ingredients. You go to the counter to order, and most folks leave but there are a couple tables to eat there. We were welcomed by Les, who was proud to tell us their food is quality, and cheeses are from Alma's Creamery, and their meats are from the Clay Center Locker, and their buns are potato bread and substantial, delicious. There are many sizes and choices of cheeses and toppings, and we got both fries and onion rings to try; they were fabulous! My 1/3 size burger was plenty, with cheddar cheese and a wonderful bun, and my chocolate shake was rich and delicious. I am so happy we found this jewel of a place while spending the night in Manhattan! Happy tummies! read more

Definitely our favorite burger place in Manhattan! Well worth the drive from the west side of town to eat delicious classic diner food. We've had about everything on the menu over the years and never been disappointed. Service is friendly and prices are very reasonable. Hours sometimes change if they're slow, but they're quick to answer the phone and confirm the closing time. Don't hesitate to give them a try! read more

Ana's , formerly Big D's, is a small burger place. Seating is very limited, room for maybe 12 people inside, extra seating outside. Ana's, the new owner, was very friendly and ready to please. She came to a customers table to assist in taking their order as the customer was on crutches. A++ for that. Now the food. I had the 1/2 pound burger with sharp cheddar, onion rings, and a soda. The burger was fresh ground, cheese was plentiful, and the onion rings were abundant. My wife had a 1/4 pound burger with American cheese, onion rings, and a soda. Needless to say, the food did not disappoint. Free refills on the soft drinks, and a smile on the staffs faces made the a visit we cannot wait to duplicate. read more

The freshest burgers in town. Somehow this is the only place where I can eat a double cheeseburger and still feel like I can run a few miles. I'm not sure where they source their beef but it is awesome quality. None of the other places downtown come close to this burger and fries. read more

I'm new in town and wanted to try this place out and I'm glad I did. I ordered a "Big D" with cheddar and a full serving of fries. The burger was juicy and probably more than a 1/3rd pound patty. The fries are beer battered and really tasty. I would definitely recommend trying this place out. read more

Not only is their food amazing but they also have great service! My husband and i ordered right before a big storm hit the area. We got stuck in the rain waiting for our food so we stayed in our car. One of the workers ended up running the food out to our car in the pouring rain! She did not have to do that but we were very grateful! Great spot for some good food and good service. The cooks and servers are the same friendly folks. Nothing fancy but we wanted burgers and found this place. I got the "Dr. Good" Chicken Sandwich and the other 7 of us got burgers and fries. Our whole family went and they patiently waited as we navigated the menu and made decisions. The meat is fresh, the bread was soft and tasty, the fries were crispy, and they have something for every appetite level. My kids got the "Little D," and my husband got the "Double." All were very satisfied. It's very small and we filled the place but there was no pressure to leave. We will definitely come again. read more

I wish I would have known about this place before my last semester at k-state because it would have been a staple in my diet (probably okay that it wasn't for my health though...). Ana's is the definition of a small town burger joint. My friend took me here for my birthday lunch and at first I was questioning her but after two bites I was stuffing my face, just couldn't eat it fast enough. We split the big d loaded and added Mayo and Colby jack cheese along with a full fry and strawberry shake. I had just recently moved to Manhattan and was looking for a new place to try out and luckily I live pretty close to this place and man is it worth.
