This place has been on my list for a while because of their lunch specials, all priced around $12. We happened to be nearby and hungry, so dinner it was. Service was excellent. Dimple-faced Duncan took great care of us, and even Maria (the manager, I think) came by to check on our table, which was a nice touch. I ordered two enchiladas, and they were just okay, but my husband's brisket chili relleno situation was very, very good. Classic Tex Mex spot. We got a comfy booth that we loved in this cozy restaurant. Service was very good, server was helpful and fun! When they get busy, it can take time to see your server. Stuffed pepper was delicious but it was very spicy, so beware! Needed some sweet tea to cool down the heat . I recommend swapping the bean cup with black beans, which are very tasty. The slaw was okay. Arroz Verde is different and nice. We also tried the barrio bowl - like a typical burrito bowl - and it was pretty good, large portion and get extra avocado in place of cheese. The chicken enchiladas were unfortunately dry and that took away from the taste sadly. If you want spicy salsa with your chips, ask for the molcajete sauce! read more

Above average Tex Mex, service needs work. Long periods of time without seeing or hearing from our server. Had to to ask for silverware, had to ask for limes twice, too forever finally got to the bar and got them myself, when the server came back she said they were out of limes and got lemons instead, we had to ask for some chips and salsa which weren't offerent to us but to everybody else. Went in for some lunch today, and of greatly enjoyed the customer service from the moment I walked in the door till the moment I left. Employees held the door open for customers, along with constantly checking in with them, making sure that any questions were answered and making them feel like they were welcome. Anamia's Tex Mex has a surprisingly fancy vibe! The ceviche and salsa were both cold, spicy, and super fresh. Chips were perfectly crisp, and the margarita--made with Patron Silver--was strong (maybe missing the triple sec, but I still got loopy, so no complaints ). Great spot overall! read more

This is our second time eating at this restaurant. We celebrated our daughter's high school graduation with family. Just as the last time we ate here, the food was amazing. The fresh guacamole made at our table was delicious. My ceviche was fresh and incredible, and everyone else loved their food. The service was excellent and they were very accommodating of our large party. After lunch, we stayed a bit and had the cakes we'd brought in. They were very patient with us, never making us feel rushed to leave the table. As we were leaving, I found the manager and told him how grateful we were and what a great experience it was dining at his restaurant. We will definitely go back! read more

Anamia's is one of my favorite Tex-Mex restaurants! Their spinach quesadillas are the best I've ever had! I try to select a different platter to try each time I go there and I've never been disappointed. The service is fantastic! Anamia's is such a special place to us. The food is outstanding and the people here are incredible and so sweet. The restaurant is beautifully decorated. I have not had a single bad experience or dish at Anamia's. The Tejanos Nachos, Brisket Queso, tableside quacamole, quesadillas, The Barrio Bowl with Salmon (my favorite), The Javier, Poblano A La Parilla, and the fajitas are some things we have order over the years and enjoyed. I went on one of many first dates with my husband and he even asked his daughter about proposing marriage to me here. We hired Anamia's to cater two holiday events for the volunteers of the Arise Special Needs Ministry at Irving Bible Church and the events were very successful with the volunteers. The prices for catering are very reasonable and the quality of the food is very good. read more

I went here this past Tuesday for lunch. I had the beef fajitas and sangria (shhhhh...don't tell my boss!). My meal and drink were delicious! The meat was tender, the veggies were cooked perfectly, and the chips and salsa for the table were addictive. My sangria got me right for a long afternoon. I knocked one star for the amount of meat I got and for the waitress. I had more onions than meat, and the waitress was truly on island time when we live in Dallas. I've written a review about Anamia before. Back then the bartender was so unresponsive that when I was standing up with my debit card he scoffed and ignored me. Anamia reached out to me after that review, and said this wasn't a normal situation. Hey cool. This stuff happens, and I would have gladly gone back. Anamia never contacted me. This isn't about people giving reviews getting "free" stuff. The only thing I've ever gotten "discounted" was someone who turned into one of my dearest friends when made me a cake over 10 years ago for my 30th birthday, and I made sure he charged us for that. I think I may have pressed to do more... but he is a treasured friend. It was clear he would have saw it as an insult. After I think 2 years (if you want to look back in my history and nitpick over exact timeframe feel free to) I went to a different Anamia's. We discussed what happened before. Any restaurant can have a bad day. We went. The service is just bad. It's bad. I went with a vegetarian and because we weren't starving I agreed to splitting the cheese enchiladas. There were many issues where the person on the other side of the bar was condescending. Including when I asked if they had a tequila that had the same name as my grandmother. The manager was condescending. Everything was condescending. When we politely decided to leave because our order wasn't ready yet, the condescending guy behind the bar said "Well it's because we do everything fresh". Now look bub, the entire place was empty. Dead empty. How do you make cheese enchiladas "fresh" where it takes this long. How long does it take to make cheese enchiladas? How does "fresh" factor into cheese enchiladas? Is there a cow being milked for the cheese in the back? This franchise is badly ran. Their management are given BS excuses to spew out like vomit. It's been 2 years and this tired badly designed franchise has shown they don't want to run consistently or efficiently. This is an incredibly poorly ran concept. How do you run a badly done Tex-Mex concept in Texas and have multiple locations and be this bad? read more

Great Tex-Mex Spot in Coppell! Anamia's is definitely one of the better Tex-Mex places around Coppell. The chips and salsa were super fresh, and the queso was creamy and flavorful -- definitely a must-get. I ordered the chicken enchiladas, and they came out hot and well-seasoned. The rice and beans on the side tasted homemade, not like they came from a can, which I appreciated. Service was fast and friendly, and the restaurant has a fun, cozy vibe -- great for both family dinners or hanging out with friends. The only reason I'm giving 4 instead of 5 stars is that it was a little noisy inside and the wait was a bit long during dinner hours, but honestly that just shows how popular it is. Really great experience. We went around 4:30pm on a Tuesday (absolutely dead) and received great service! They turned on the fans/misters on the patio which was dramatically cooling on a 92 degree day. They were also very welcoming of our dog on the patio. I went inside briefly to use the restroom and the indoor ambiance was also beautiful. The food was excellent! A mix of meat and veggie options - all delightful! Anamias has always been a good restaurant and our go-to Mexican place. We dined there last night and had one of the best Mexican food experiences ever. Something has changed and the change is good. First, the service was first class. Chips brought to the table were in the usual basket, but a pet peeve of mine is that some places give you a generous serving of chip shards. These chip baskets were very carefully filled with only whole chips and with the table salsa, they were perfectly delicious. We all ordered a different item. When the food was delivered, we were all quite impressed with the careful plating of the foods. The four dinners were really beautifully prepared and plated. We took a few minutes to just appreciate each other's plates. The dinners were all top tier and delicious. Make sure to leave room for dessert. The flan is perfect, and I forget the name, but the coconut ice cream dessert served in a cinnamon encrusted shell topped with a shot of Kahlua was so good I must say it was one of the most delicious desserts I have ever had. I didn't understand the crowds at this restaurant for average to below average Tex Mex food. The experience began when our group of 10 arrived for our reservation. No record of it at all and deer in headlights looks on everyone's face. They did find a place to put us, jamming two different kinds of tables together for an uncomfortable elbow to elbow seating. Only going to comment on the food my wife and I tried or had. We each had drinks and I must admit my Swirl was one of the smallest swirl drinks I have ever had and much of the small drink glass was taken up with a huge lime wedge at the bottom. The guacamole Molcajete, which is prepared tableside was excellent and the server matched our requested level of spice. The queso was supermarket jar level, so a disappointment. The free salsa with the chips was quite good. My wife had the Maria, which is a selection of items and she said they were all good enough, but not great. I had the Poblano Ala Parilla with shrimp. It was the saddest, toughest, most overcooked, flavorless poblano I have ever had. If there was one and a half shrimp in it I would be surprised. On the side was a bowl of beans, or should I say a partially filled bowl of salty liquid with a few lonely beans at the bottom. The slaw on the side was good and the rice seemed like it probably came from a mix. I was highly disappointed. Service was slow and as I described in the beginning we were uncomfortable. In a metro area with hundreds of Tex Mex choices, this would be near the bottom for us. read more

Every small town needs their go to set of Tex max and burger joints. We have a couple of good ones. Anamias is top quality and fast service but also offers upscale Interior and cushier seating. It's usually packed so make reservations at high times in weekends. The Togo line is popular. The prices are reasonable. Highly recommend for options in Coppell for the family outing.
