    Nice pint

Yum yum yum says my tum. (Sorry.) That's what the little voice in my head says when I think of this place... Steak on a stone is €16.95 Monday to Wednesday's. There's a choice between a 10oz sirloin or an 8oz fillet. You then choose between baked potato, mashed potato or fries for a side. I went for the fillet steak with mashed potato. The cut of steak was delicious, the mashed potato was scrumptious and the pepper sauce was spot on. Washed down with a couple of pints of Heineken and I was one happy girl. I'd imagine of you like you're steak well done like an aul boot you'd be a while waiting for it to cook on the stone so you should probably go for the sirloin if you insist on ordering steak! If you're like me and know a good steak should never be cooked past medium then this is the way to do it! This is now one of my top three places for a steak in Dublin! My friend went for the vegetarian stir fry which he said was good but to be honest it probably wouldn't be one of their best dishes and didn't look like it had a patch on my steak! He then got the apple pie for dessert which he said was tasty.

This is really more of a landmark to me versus a pub. It's just always evokes famous and infamous sporting memories. From watching Italia 90 games there to Michelle de Brun returning with her medals after the Olympics. It's an eye-catching building and the exterior and interior are always extremely well maintianed. I love the atmosphere in there, laid back and homely. Food is tasty and will put meat on your bones! Great spot for a lazy Sunday lunch after a Sunday drive.

Great suggestion by our B&B host from Greenacres (Mary). This restaurant/ pub was HUGE and full of people from all walks of life. We sat next to a lovely couple who are from Ireland and live 1:15 away and drove to this place because they love the food. They were lovely and ended us talking to us throughout their meal giving us tips and even free museum passes to ensure we had a good time. The food was amazing. The stone and steak is a MUST and the crafts beers and ciders were delicious! Loved the layout being both a bar in a few sections and a restaurant for the rest. Definitely would have spent more time there if we hadn't just flown in. From California and loved the hospitality of everyone there, two thumbs up!!! Oh, and our server Rebekah was awesome!

The staff and the crowd of regulars at this charming pub are among the most welcoming we have experienced in all of Ireland! They were as excited to tell us about their country and as they were to ask about ours! They were funny and friendly and the highlight of our day. Now that takes some beating. McEvoys is one of those places that is just made for one of those ultra-rare-not-a-cloud-in-the-sky days. Set right on the canal just outside of Celbridge is this gorgeous pub. Full of walkers who have come along the canal on a stroll with their dogs plus lots of locals and even some lucky houseboat owners. The mood is always friendly and jovial, with an atmosphere that's second to none. Here you will find: - A pre-pint walk along the canal - A load of benches with a view of the boats and the water - A super cosy and comfy bar inside if it gets a tad chilly in the evening (you know it will!) - A great pint of the black stuff - A dog friendly bar To be honest, whether it's raining or shining, I'd still recommend this spot. Gwan the outskirts!

I had had about six or seven pints when I ordered another and this bar person told me, I had had enough. I said I was leaving after the next pint, but was told again, I think you've had enough. Without another word, I stood up and left. It wasn't Jamie, or the American guy, or the red-haired lady, who are all very nice. It was this other person, whom I don't know. Maybe it was because this person saw me petting this lovely dog that was in the pub. I am a huge dog lover and sometimes some people might not get how much of a dog lover I am. Or maybe it was because I was on my own. I know some local people, who go to the Rathcoole Inn, but there were none of them present on the day in question. I have met some local people since, who know me well and have spent time with me in the local pub over the years, and whom sometimes frequent the Rathcoole Inn. I explained to them what happened to me in the Rathcoole Inn, and they did not understand how this situation could have happened. They all said that if they were treated in this way, they would not return. I got home and told the Missus about what had happened. I couldn't help thinking, could I be somehow at fault. She said she didn't think I was drunk and neither did I. I have never been a regular in the Rathcoole Inn, but I thought it was a nice pub. I am a very respectful person, and I treat people with decency. I feel this bar person's treatment of me was unfounded, unreasonable, uncalled for and degrading. I won't be going back.

The staff are very friendly but they still have the same old bouncers with will give some of the people who come to this place before and had a horrible time because of them a bitter taste towards the place they need to replace them so the place has a whole new feel. I haven't eaten here yet but after leaving the place in another pub we got talking to a couple and they couldn't stop talking about the restaurant and the food in the penny hill speaks for itself I suppose very cheap and tasty I didn't give it 5 stars because I haven't eaten here yet and the bouncers are the old ones from before and I've had a horrible experience with them so that stopped me from giving it 5 stars but i will return soon
