I went in for a pint one afternoon. It was fairly quiet and I spent the time reading the news on my phone. I had had about six or seven pints when I ordered another and this bar person told me, I had had enough. I said I was leaving after the next pint, but was told again, I think you've had enough. Without another word, I stood up and left.
It wasn't Jamie, or the American guy, or the red-haired lady, who are all very nice. It was this other person, whom I don't know. Maybe it was because this person saw me petting this lovely dog that was in the pub. I am a huge dog lover and sometimes some people might not get how much of a dog lover I am. Or maybe it was because I was on my own.
I know some local people, who go to the Rathcoole Inn, but there were none of them present on the day in question. I have met some local people since, who know me well and have spent time with me in the local pub over the years, and whom sometimes frequent the Rathcoole Inn. I explained to them what happened to me in the Rathcoole Inn, and they did not understand how this situation could have happened. They all said that if they were treated in this way, they would not return.
I got home and told the Missus about what had happened. I couldn't help thinking, could I be somehow at fault. She said she didn't think I was drunk and neither did I.
I have never been a regular in the Rathcoole Inn, but I thought it was a nice pub. I am a very respectful person, and I treat people with decency. I feel this bar person's treatment of me was unfounded, unreasonable, uncalled for and degrading.
I won't be going back. read more
