We stopped for breakfast on our way to Redding. We both ordered from the Senior menu. I had pancakes with scrambled egg and bacon, and I asked for the bacon to be extra crispy. My husband ordered the egg with sausage patty and country potatoes. There was a lot of food. It was all delicious, except it had no seasoning whatsoever. I'm not sure what happened to the salt. Thankfully, there was a shaker on the table, but it would've been nice to have salt cooked in the eggs. Even the pancake tasted like it was lacking some salt. Maybe they do that for the seniors because of blood pressure issues. Our server, Tanya was amazing. She was covering the entire restaurant, and doing an amazing job. When our check came, I noticed that our beverages were not on the bill. I asked Tanya about it and she said that from 8 to 10 coffee is free. That's good to know! Of course we'll go back. read more

Felt a little letdown by all the 5 stars on Yelp...and maybe catfished. There is no salad bar. Waitstaff is friendly, but I wouldn't describe the restaurant as clean & inviting. It's a diner with diner food. We didn't try the Chinese food bc...we'll, I walked into a diner (nothing against diners...love Diners, Drive-Ins, & Dives.) This was not a drive-in. My husband ordered the chicken fried steak and it was pretty good. Steak was thick, and the coating was thin & crispy. Enjoyed the gravy, hashbrows, & eggs. My fried fish & prawns were alright. Had breakfast here and I sent the hashbrowns back cause they were so soaked in grease and tasted just like grease. They brought me back another order that was the same. They clearly had been sitting on the grill for entirely too long and not made fresh either. The waitress was rude when asked to get me different hashbrowns and the omelet wasn't very good either. The Chinese food is excellent but if you are ordering through door dash expect that you will be missing all the condiments that come with that particular meal even after requesting condiments. This is the second time this has happened. First time was an apology and we will do better next time. They haven't fixed the problem yet. read more

This is a dependable Asian and American casual place to dine or take-out. Ordered orange chicken and broccoli beef with vegetable chow mein and fried rice. The portions were large and could feed two people. The food was good and fresh - nothing fancy - but the seasoning and sauce was done well, and it was satisfying. Service was quick for a take-out, and pleasant. They are open a bit later on some days and I hope they continue this. Susanville is seriously lacking decent dining and fast casual in the evening hours, and many places are closed on weekdays. Seriously, some of us work and don't get home until 7:00 p.m. yet many places close at 6:30-7:00 p.m. At least this place is open until 8:00 or 9:00! So, they'll get my business, unlike places that close early or close or weekdays. read more

Friendly servers and excellent food! There's a great cafe type menu, with plenty of choices from standard to unique. I had a pesto omelette for breakfast. For lunch and dinner, they also have a Chinese food menu. The chicken with mixed vegetables was yummy, and came with soup or salad, an egg roll, fried rice and Chinese noodles, and it was only $16.50! Parking is plenty and the inside is very clean. I'm in Susanville for close to a week, and will keep coming back here. read more

I ordered the fish and chips with a soda. The fish was burnt on the outside. Not a big portion of fries either. With tax it came to around $25 not worth the price or portion size. The temperature in the place was kind of cold also, I had my jacket on the entire time. I wouldn't recommend the place unless they start doing better portion sizes and value. read more

They get 2 stars due to cleanliness and efficient friendly service. I ordered grilled chicken with baked potatoe and salad bar. The chicken was over cooked to point of being leathery. The baked potatoe under cooked and needed a knife to cut so I could eat it. Veggies on salad bar were on verge of spoiling or frozen. Chinese food looked good as it was coming out to other customers and servings were huge. My husband got kung pao chicken and it was very very spicy. Soup very salty. This place was like a lighthouse in a storm... after my fiancée and I got into an argument that almost ended our engagement out on the open road, we pulled into the Lassen Shopping Center for a quick bite. We were quickly greeted by warm smiles and the tantalizing smell of salad bar. I nearly floated off the floor like a cartoon character when I got a whiff of carrot cake. I settled on a cup of the broccoli soup, while my fiancée decided on a nice double cheeseburger. My soup was piping hot (but not too hot!), while his juicy burger sported fresh onions and tomatoes aplenty. The fries... don't get me started on the fries!!! Crispy, crunchy, and delectable. After our meals, we felt renewed and repentant for all of the horrible things we had said to each other in the car. Amy's Kopper Kettle Cafe saved my engagement. Previously, only American diner food. This place just started serving Chinese food. We heard it was good and so off we go to give it a try. First off, the waitstaff was amazing. Pot stickers were spot on. Egg flower soup was perhaps the best I've had. The sweet and sour pork was so fresh it was still crunchy. Overall, it was a great experience. On a Sunday, I decided I would like some Chinese food and if you live in Susanville right now, you know that Chinese food is very limited. I decided to give Amy's Kopper Kettle a try since I heard they serve Chinese food. I ordered the sweet-and-sour chicken, pork, fried rice, and potstickers. The sweet-and-sour chicken was superb. Good portions of chicken, sauce was flavorful, and the right amount of sauce to coat the chicken pieces. Pork fried rice was really good as well as the potstickers. Took our 2 boys there for lunch today. The waitress T was very friendly and nice at first. Then our food came out and my order was wrong. I ordered the Turkey dinner (Turkey, brown gravy, vegetables and soup) T brought me the roast beef lunch (open faced hot roast beef on bread and mashed potatoes covered with brown gravy) I told T that I ordered the turkey dinner not hot roast beef sandwich lunch. T shook her head and mumbled well I heard roast beef. I know what I ordered because I am not supposed to each much beef and I really cant eat bread because I have gastroparesis and bread just fills me up in 2 bites. So, she took it back to the cook. We were in a corner booth and you can clearly hear T and the cook arguing over it. T did keep her composure for the most part bit got kind of crappy when we asked for some more take out. As we were leaving, with a crappy attitude "I am sorry the service was soooo bad" I in turn said " It was fair" T stomped past me and loudly said "Yeah, no tip on $100 ticket" and I wasn't even the one that paid for the meal. How was I to even know? Even if I was paying, with her attitude after taking back the wrong meal, I wouldn't have tipped her either. She was loud enough for other customers to hear which I felt made me feel like I was the horrible person. I have mental health issues with serious medical problems and I am still nice to people regardless because you don't know what's going on with that person. Needless to say I had to take my anxiety medication to calm down. Not making it all about me but it was pretty crappy service. Now for the meal. Mine was very bland. From the navy bean soup, to the mashed potatoes and the gravy. I had to bring the entire meal home to season it. I was so excited to try their new Chinese menu but when I called in to place an order for pick up the lady on the other end of the call was EXTREMELY rude to me. It seemed like I was bugging her and interrupted her by trying to just get some food. It completely ruined my appetite and turned me off from getting food. I ordered anyways and the lady on the other end didn't bother to get my name, number, or payment method. (which I understand you can do when you pick up the food). when I went in to pick up my food it was not there, I'm not sure if it's because the teen didn't get my name or number or if she just didn't feel like putting our order in. the whole interaction was very off putting and I hope I don't receive the same treatment next time I try to get food here. read more

If I could share minus stars I would, The business has gone to crap rather quickly. Last time we were in the dining room was cold as outside, at that point we asked why and was told electrical and heater issues, blaming the property owner, but assuring us it would be warm next time....So today ( 2/14/23 3:35PM ) Still cold... mentioned to the server who told us it was due to the recession but was being remodeled....We had the salad bar and my wife discovers that the potato salad was rancid, again bring it to the attention of not only the server and the owner (Danny) and nothing....he smells the salad on a spoon, throws it away, not one word of gee I'm sorry or how can we make this right.....Kopper Kettle what happened??? The waitress even tells us at the register that again it's the recession and the business is going under, telling us that Danny showed her the paperwork of them losing $10.000 monthly....well.. I don't know, but maybe people are tired of eating in a refrigerator or perhaps it's the not so fresh salad bar, and perhaps other reasons why the parking lots many times during lunch or dinner as we have driven by and not very many cars parked in the business...Again, What happened?? When Amy and Danny took it over from Bing it was a lot better but over the last 8 months........I guess next time we go in if there is a next time, the excuse will have something to do with the Chinese spy balloon or the Russians....I don't think there will be a next time for us.
