Hummus and veggie sandwich on sourdough - sourdough was excellent!
Allison B.

Stumbled across this when wandering around downtown Brattleboro and shouldn't be missed! we shared the hummus and veggie sandwich - it was SO good!! Properly seasoned and just so flavorful. Hummus came with a feta garlic spread - the garlic was fresh and made an awesome spice to the sandwich. also got a raisin scone, pretty good as well! Definitely glad we ate here!

California BLT

Quick stop to find a place to eat and past by Amy's. Best BLT ever! Staff super nice and great window view in the back. What a nice treat. Grabbing a moon pie on the way out.

Yes, yes, yes. Lovely café with a scenic mountain AND river view. I got the hummus sandwich, made with fresh bread, lots of vegetables (some pickled!), and an addictive garlic aioli. The photo doesn't do it justice! Very nice place; will definitely be back!

Wonderful pastries in downtown Brattleboro. What more can you want? The coffee is worth going there as well.

Great maple lattes and baked goods! Had the quiche and grilled cheese, both done very well.

I gave this bakery only two stars because the owner is rude, but the gluten free sandwiches are good.

Very cozy I'm assuming coffee house. Few parking spots in the front, but there are also location…read morelocations along the street. Seating is limited. They have a huge book selection that dominates the area where it could be useful for seating and more accommodating patrons. They do have a counter area where you can sit. One very large couch and chair. Actually felt a little stressed because of the claustrophobic nature of how they have it arranged. Overall, I would go back.

This was an ideal stop on the way home from Vermont to Maine! My wife and I love to check out…read morecoffee spots when we are traveling and seeing small bits about this place made me know it was a must stop. Just imagine a book store meets a coffee shop that also has delicious looking sweet treats (chai donuts was what caught my eye). Telling my wife those little bits about it made her eyes light up with excitement! We showed up and thankfully the major rush already passed and snagged a parking spot. Be mindful it is a small place with minimal parking. We walked inside and looked all around, my wife jumped to the books to browse (pictures of those can be seen on the Antidote Books listing). She did have lots of time to browse, because they only had one barista taking orders then also making them. This would be the only negative I would have to say of this place, I felt bad that it seemed the worker had too much to do. It resulted in quite a wait and I could see them losing some business during rushes from this. I know the space is small but having someone take orders and one making drinks could help. Despite this I still feel they deserve five stars! I got their Golden Sun Milk Iced Latte and my wife got their Iced Matcha Latte. Both were very tasty, expertly made for sure. Also we were lucky enough to get the very last chai donut, and it had a rose frosting. It tasted like gingerbread because the chai spices, wish we could have had more than one. A spot we would definitely return to and try more drinks and bites! No books that we wanted to buy but glad to have found a combo coffee shop/book store. Stop here and give it a try!

New year, new review…read more Popped in after a morning of skiing New Year's Day and place was packed for lunch! I didn't mind as I was in no rush. As I waited in line I enjoyed conversations with both the people in front and behind me whom all have never been before. The joy and excitement on their faces as they made their way to order was priceless. As for myself, a small mac to help start the new year strong for total lbs sold (81k in 2024) and a small pulled pork. Wanted to order some other things but my refrigerator is full at home, so another time. If this will be your first time, just be aware of parking could be very busy as there's not much. Both ways before pull out of parking spaces as well. Main road can be a cluster at times. I also recommend getting lots of little things rather than a little of a lot. You can always come back for more!

A local had suggested this spot as a favorite roadtrip stop, and it is now my new favorite too!…read moreLimited parking and togo lines were long, but service was quick. There are 2 lines - deli and sandwiches. Great selection of Vermont-made snacks, drinks, and souvenirs as well. I ordered: - Macaroni and cheese ($4.29 per 1/2 lb) made with Vermont's Cabot cheddar cheese - very creamy, cheesy, and had a perfect texture. - Maple BBQ Pulled Pork ($5.99 per 1/2 lb) - very juicy and moist - Turkey Sandwich - had this the next day and it was still tasty. Not dry at all. All were very flavorful and delicious! Highly recommend visiting ~ I can't wait to be back :)
