On my way up to Maine - I had breakfast in Greenfield, MA - but thought I would stop off in I-91/Brattleboro for some caffeine. It was a cold, rainy October day - and I found Mocha Joe's Cafe using the Yelp app on my iPhone. I finally managed to find a parking spot - Mocha Joe's is in the midst of downtown Brattleboro - so no parking lot. As you enter Mocha Joe's - it's located in the lower level - almost like a basement - so you descend a few steps and enter. I ordered a triple shot latte - and was planning on sitting down and spending some time enjoying my latte - and break out my MacBook Pro to peruse my route from Brattleboro to Portland, ME. BUT - and this has nothing to do with Mocha Joe's - there is a customer sitting at the next table - on his PC - attempting to have a very loud job interview over Zoom - in the middle of the coffee shop. He was so loud he was close to shouting. And I must say, what I had to listen to was rather embarrassing for a job interview. I would not have hired him! So, I packed up and took my latte on the road. Delicious espresso! #MochaJoesCafe

Perfect maple latté. Not overly sweet, just right. For my fellow dairy intolerant folk, they offer oat milk (and another diary free option, I forget if it was almond or soy)! They also have a few options of baked goods (that I believe may vary daily/weekly?). I've heard they usually have at least one gluten free option! I got the gluten free peanut brownie. Yum! Nice, cozy, quiet laid back vibe. Indoor and outdoor seating available. Unisex bathroom for customers. Staff is very pleasant and friendly.

Yum yum yum. Great service, attentive and kind baristas. Good coffee! MUST get anything maple when in Vermont!

Walking around downtown area of Brattleboro, I found this place because of the coffee aroma coming out from the coffee shop. Unfortunately I dio have the time to sit and enjoy my coffee there but I took my coffee to go. I love to try different flavors with coffee and I noticed that they have Maple Latte. Maple is so delicious but with coffee? Let me tell you, that maple latte was delicious I really enjoyed it. The sweet and fruity flavors were a good combination. Coffee shop was nice and clean.

all ordered maple lattes - when in VT!

What a cute little coffee shop in downtown Brattleboro, VT. And they're dog friendly, which is our favorite. Perfect maple lattes with oat milk. Prices were good too.

Mocha Joe's chocolate joy latte is so good. I love that you can add an additional flavor - I went with caramel and it worked nicely with the mocha. I would go here every day if I lived in the area. Strong yet smooth coffee with a nice amount of kick. This visit, we also picked up some beans to bring home. Nice selection. I was also impressed with their quirky decor at the counter, especially a He-Man type punching a bottle cap. Cute. There was only one woman working on a Saturday morning which was pretty surprising. We had about a 15 minute wait with just one person in front of us. It also started to get crowded and it's a small space. There was a sign saying limited space inside, please stay outside to socially distance and several customers ignored that and the woman working had to ask them to go back outside. We'll be back for sure as their coffee is so darn good but probably would time it a bit differently to hit in during a less busy hour.

Coffee seemed bitter and burnt, the scones and pastries were dry as well. Dunkins does it better.

Just imagine a book store meets a coffee shop that also has delicious looking sweet treats (chai donuts was what caught my eye). Telling my wife those little bits about it made her eyes light up with excitement! We showed up and thankfully the major rush already passed and snagged a parking spot. Be mindful it is a small place with minimal parking. We walked inside and looked all around, my wife jumped to the books to browse (pictures of those can be seen on the Antidote Books listing). She did have lots of time to browse, because they only had one barista taking orders then also making them. This would be the only negative I would have to say of this place, I felt bad that it seemed the worker had too much to do. It resulted in quite a wait and I could see them losing some business during rushes from this. I know the space is small but having someone take orders and one making drinks could help. Despite this I still feel they deserve five stars! I got their Golden Sun Milk Iced Latte and my wife got their Iced Matcha Latte. Both were very tasty, expertly made for sure. Also we were lucky enough to get the very last chai donut, and it had a rose frosting. It tasted like gingerbread because the chai spices, wish we could have had more than one. A spot we would definitely return to and try more drinks and bites! No books that we wanted to buy but glad to have found a combo coffee shop/book store. Stop here and give it a try!

Tucked into a small shopping center next to a laundromat you could miss it if you're not careful when driving south on Putney Rd. On the morning we were there for breakfast (based on Yelp recommendations) there was only one woman who was manning the cash register, taking orders, serving, and busing 7 full tables. She managed all this single handedly while keeping her cool, being a bit jovial with the customers, and not loosing a smile; the woman was a machine! Based on this, service was outstanding... she was outstanding! We both had the blueberry pancakes, which were very tasty... in fact I'd say they almost tasted like flat blueberry muffins... they where very yummy and should not be missed. I also had the corned beef hash with two eggs over medium. The eggs were done right (often places don't get that right) and though the corned beef hash was from a can (yeah the menu says "home grilled" not "home made", there is a difference), it was still very good. Coffee was pretty good too... not watery and with a good flavor. The menu has your average breakfast fare, a handful of omelettes to choose from (not a big selection), two kinds of pancakes, blueberry and plain (with what tasted like real maple syrup, it is Vermont after all!), breakfast sandwiches, a few different eggs benedicts, and some other usual dishes; nothing exceptional or unique. All in all the food was good, the pricing decent, and the service (on this day when they were short one person) was exceptional. We will definitely go back when we are in the area.

The lot was small but many people were coming in and out so we didn't have to wait long to get a parking spot or outdoor seating. There are two shops: the deli and market with different vibes and items inside. The market is a quick shop with some snacks, drinks, coffee, and knickknacks. The deli is where the hot/cooked foods are at with some other specialty foods. The food was overall ok, nothing noteworthy. The main attraction is their Mac and cheese that had been circulating my IG feed. Don't think it's life changing but the shops have curated selections of local goods that are reasonable priced to get some last minute treats. Pass on the general tso(?) and the potstickers in my opinion unless you're really craving it. The desserts looked amazing and would definitely get one next time

We were able to get a spot in front with no issue, but I imagine that this was because it was a week day. We chose the Mac and cheese and the maple pulled pork. Both were worth the hype in my opinion. The mac and cheese was super creamy and paired well with the tender pulled pork. The baked goods were nothing to write home about. Maybe we just chose the wrong items? We tried: Oatmeal cookie - good, but not amazing. Chocolate chunk/ peanut butter cookie - stale as heck and basically inedible. I always am leery of saran wrapped cookies that are out on display because its impossible to know if there are actually fresh. The giant stacks of cookies were too enticing to pass up on. The chocolate cookie we purchased was definitely not fresh at all. $3.29 down the tubes - lesson on saran wrapped cookies learned (again). Carrot cake whoopie pie and original whoopie pie - both tasty, but the cake was too thick for my personal liking. We sat in the small outdoor seating area to eat. This was a nice little reprieve from the car ride.
