63 mile ride, only to discover a closed sign on the door. The Mr looked at their web presence, did they post this anywhere and we just missed it? No. So obnoxious when "businesses" operate like a hobby. Off to our other local favorites. read more

Located at Fire Arts in Brattleboro, the Fire Arts Cafe serves up a variety of fresh bakery items including pastries, tarts, cupcakes, cheesecake, eclairs, muffins, cookies, brownies, croissants, baguettes, quiche, fresh brewed coffee & espresso drinks, tea drinks, and juices. Gluten free and vegan options here. The place is cozy with limited seating inside and picnic tables outside. I stopped in here for an afternoon snack recently. They were already out of croissants, so I scanned through the selection of treats. I picked out a Cowgirl Cookie and a Gluten Free Cheesecake with Hazelnut Crust. The two treats were $9.50 total. I enjoy my sweet treats outside since it was a very sunny day. The cowgirl cookie had a mix of chocolate chips, coconut & oats with a crumbly texture. The cheesecake tart had a sweet taste, a cool & creamy dessert treat. Hopefully if I can get here in the morning on my next visit, I can enjoy a filled croissant with my coffee. read more

My first time into fire arts and I really wanted to love it, but there was one massive thing I noticed that will probably stop me from returning. The barista used a towel that was on the counter to clean their shoe and then put it back on the counter!!!!!!!!! Huge health code violation. Also our iced maple latte was given to us hot but after the towel incident we just took it and left. read more

This cafe is right on rt 30 with great parking. The staff are super friendly. The baked goods are the 4/5. I tend to ask for them heated or heat it up at home as they tend to be a bit hard. Not stale but seems like they were either sitting to long or over baked. If willing to drive Sweet Lucy's in Bernardston has fire arts beat as a bakery. Fire arts coffee is great 5/5 for me. read more

Heavenly Baguettes and croissants (so many kinds) made with love. Worth every penny (and doesn't cost that many pennies really). Fire Arts Bakery & Cafe is as good as it gets. Brattleboro now benefits from a welcoming warm bakery space abundant with deliciousness. First visit, I couldn't decide between the herb goat cheese croissant and the morning glory muffin...so relished both. Next visit enjoyed the nourishing savory muffin that has an egg baked into it. Sublime chai latte with oat milk rounds out the culinary joy each and every time. Gilles baguettes available for purchase there as well! Outdoor seating soon, I hear. read more

The food here is terrific. I am particularly enamored of their baguettes, which are as good as you can get anywhere, even in France. (One tip: If they are out of baguettes--and they do sell out!--the frozen ones thaw perfectly). Their other baked goods, especially the croissants, are excellent as well. The coffees and other prepared drinks (e.g. their fresh wheatgrass) are all perfect. Yes, it is a little expensive...but what isn't these days, particularly anything of real quality. The ambience is also wonderful, at all times. One reviewer remarked on how the food was "Out in the open", and that "Anyone could have touched it"...but I personally do not find that a problem. The Fire Arts Cafe is as close as one can get to true quality baked goods and espresso-based coffees anywhere, and that means anywhere in the world. I understand why they're not open more often--it's a lot of work!--but wish they were. I love this place. read more

Wonderful croissants! Can't go wrong with any of their choices. We raved about our breakfast!

First the good news, the bakery items are really good, they are probably worth the above average prices. My group had quiche, egg salad sandwich and a croissant. We all liked our food very much. I did take home 4 muffins, they weren't not worth the price, they were very dry and I don't think they were fresh. Now the really bad news. I seriously question their food handling practices. They had a lot of their items right in front of where you order your food. None of the items were covered at all. They have a sign that say that sandwiches are made to order. My sister ordered the egg salad sandwich and they grabbed one that was at the edge of the counter, nothing covering the sandwich. I questioned why it wasn't being made to order and they told me the chef had just put it there. Anybody standing in front of the counter could have easily brushed it with their body. There were several croissants, a few quiche choices, muffins all in front of the registers where food was being ordered. Not a single item was covered. I can't imagine anybody reading this thinks that's okay. Yuck. PLEASE LOOK AT THEIR PICTURES, you can see all the food uncovered right in front of the customers. We almost left but we were very hungry and there weren't very many places open. Even though the food was good, if they can't even cover food that's right in front of the customers, I question how their food handling is in the kitchen. Unfortunately, I do not recommend eating here. read more
