I can't believe I haven't been coming here for years and just discovering this place this year…read more This place is a great family farm for anybody of all ages. Most of the things here are free. Pumpkins that you can pick are at very reasonable prices. Food and drinks are at reasonable prices too as well as other merchandise and other fall related things that go on here. They had a corn maze that I did not check out at all. Visiting the animals was probably one of my favorite things at the farm. It's not jam-packed like a lot of the popular locations. The only downside I would say was that the staff is a little bit untrained especially when it comes to money handling since the one cashier when I was paying for pumpkins didn't know how to count cash even though I gave him exact change. Overall, you should not pass up on this place at all. 4.5 Stars

Dollinger Family Farm does not charge admissions. We have visited for two consecutive years and we…read morewould spend about two hours each time. They have a huge play area with wooden structures such as a school bus, fire truck, and castle. My young girls enjoyed the pretend play on the vehicles and going on the slides. There is also a section with huge stacks that are perfect for climbing and taking group pictures. Some things to take note of: 1) There is a section with plenty of port-a-potties. We were there in the morning so the port-a-potties were all relatively clean and unused. 2) The food section isn't that big but service is quick. We tried the cheese pizza, poor boy, pork chop on a stick, cheeseburger, and donuts. We would definitely order the poor boy, a cube steak sandwich, and pork chop again. They did an excellent job with grilling the meats and both had a nice sear while retaining moisture. The donuts were mini-size and came in baker's dozen so it was easy for our young girls to dig in.

First off the Station doesn't have a functional passenger platform any more and as far as I could…read moretell it's a shell of its former glory because there is a metal fence on the platform blocking you from getting on a train but I was not getting on any train so that's ok, I'm here for photography/videos. My purpose for today's visit was my nerdy train porn and it did not disappoint because it was full of action with 20 trains in four hours, what an hot spot of action. I mostly do food reviews but I'm going to leave a review for the Joliet union station for the rail fans who might look at Yelp for some info on this place which is probably very slim. For you rail fans this place has such a great variety of rail action with UP, BNSF, AMTRAK, METRA and NS trains flowing through the diamonds. The tracks go from N, S, E, and W with access to three passenger platforms out of the four coroners so there is plenty of access for the rail fan. AMTRAK, METRA and UNOIN STATION have the three coroners covered which is awesome for the rail fan. The bottom line is if your a rail fan and you want a photo/video shoot with lots of open access with out trespassing than this is a very cool place and worth the drive.

The trains as it is are clean and organized, yet the station itself was not what I expected. Since…read moreI was visiting the area for the first time, it was a challenge to find where exactly Union Station was located. I had to go to the police station and ask for definitive information on the address, since GPS wasn't picking it up. Upon arrival, I noticed that there were hardly any signs at all for the location itself. I figured out where to park, since the parking lot is directly across the street. When it came to receiving ticket information, the signs on the inside of the building were equally confusing. The employees within the station were busy at the time, so I wound up asking some of the locals about train schedules, etc. Would I return to this station? More than likely. Is it convenient to get to? I suppose. Its okay to me, yet could use improvement.

Are you a hockey fan, but can't be bothered with necking it out for a Hawks ticket? Or you find…read moreyourself not in the mood to catch a Wolves game. Welcome to the world of the ECHL where anything is possible. The Sears Centre is home to a new hockey club (Chicago Express) where if you want to hear the slashing sounds on the ice or the roaring whistle of a train as a goal is scored; you are more than welcome. Chicago has been lucky enough to be granted with three levels of professional hockey and this is definitely no exception. An Affiliate of the NHL's Blue Jackets, the Express skate with determination and skill that make it perfect to watch while they are growing as professional players. The venue itself isn't overly large and offers pretty much a decent seat from both sides of the rink. The Sears Centre suits the bill for holding the sounds of the ice and the crowd without making you think there could be a concert the next night. Because the Express club is still so fresh and so clean, seats are readily available for every game. We're talking, if you wanted to be bangin' on the glass come this Saturday (or when the next home game is) you'll probably find out that your luck--is in tact. For this particular outing, I ended up sitting rows behind the benches for which I have to admit...I am skeptical and should have opted for the other side but couldn't for the life of me get the ticket site figured out. Ten rows up from the ice is still a pretty sweet view--even if you're somewhat behind the benches. The crowd has taken the Express to heart already which is very warming, because they are a brand new franchise. Loud cat calls, whistles and screams to skate to the center is something that will be of a common fixture for the night. Tickets are definitely affordable. To sit in the lower 100 level tickets start as low as $17, and sitting behind the glass if that is your fancy is only $25. For anyone in need of getting a hockey fix this is a great option to choose from. Parking itself is standard for the Centre, look to spend about $10 to park easily across the way from the arena entrance.

It's great for those that can't (or won't ) pay the crazy amount for a Hawks ticket and it's close by. The game was a bit like a high school game but it was still entertaining and you can't beat $1 beers and $1 hot dogs on Fridays. Overall it's something fun to do on a Friday night.
