The sun has jumped up over the opposite terminal, shining full-strength into our eyes as we created food memories at Amsterdam Bread Co. The cafeteria-style grab and go makes it easy and tempting to snag something headed from your one gate to your other gate. Friendly staff greet and the coffee is plenty warm to accompany those breads, muffins, or sandwiches. The salmon looked amazing but the smaller pastries won out today. Lots of seating if you're not running too quickly to your next flight. I'm sure I'll return since I often find myself in Schipol mid-morning.

Avocado Hummus Sandwich (8€)

While nothing to really write home about (despite me writing up this Yelp review), Amsterdam Bread Co is a convenient and safe sandwich option in this bustling airport that has something for everyone. All of their sandwiches are pre-made and up for grabs, cafeteria style. I went for their Avocado Hummus Sandwich (8€) with pomegranate seeds and tomatoes slapped in the middle of two grain loafs. There was a decent amount of avo inside the sandwich, which you'd hope would be the case for the price. The sandwich is naturally vegan by nature which was perfect for me. While it wasn't necessarily the best sandwich I had ever had, it's a good, quick option at AMS. I'd let the avocados thaw out a bit since it definitely felt frozen.

Mediocre sandwiches on fresh baked bread t9 be eaten in a crowded but open dining room. Enjoy watching the bread get backed. Veggies are fresh cut and crunchy. I found the croissants much better than the rolls (always in my opinion).

Saw that there was a crowd of people waiting on line here during my layover & thought I'd try it out. I ended up getting the avocado hummus sandwich (about 8-9 euros) & a yogurt bar (4 euros). You basically choose which sandwich you want, put it on your tray and end up paying for it at the cashier. The sandwich was okay. Aesthetically it looked amazing. The pomegranate seeds and bread were good but the avocado had a funny taste to it. The yogurt bar on the other hand was one of the best fruit / nut bars I've ever had. Super fresh & filling. Def one of the better spots to grab food at the airport if you're waiting around for your next flight!

Given that there are few choices around, Amsterdam Bread Co probably is your best bet for getting a decent bite to eat before your flight. Both times I came through the airport, there were significant lines (at Starbucks too), but they moved fast. The bread is really the star. Offerings include sandwiches, baguettes, wraps, soups, croissants, muffins and cookies. I ordered a $4 ham & cheese croissant and it was good. So was the $6 smoothie. I wanted to try the soup but thought it was over priced. It's self service. You get a tray and move down a counter line, selecting items as you go. Two Cashiers are located at the end. Credit cards are accepted. Plenty of seating all around including in the back.

Mozzarella panini and OJ

Overpriced...? 7.50 euros for a panini with melted mozzarella and same price for the OJ. The OJ was good & freshly squeezed. I should have skipped the panini. The bread had somewhat of the taste, but the cheese didn't bring anything. I asked if I could add something to it (before they made the sandwich-- maybe ham?) and was told no. Also sandwich is on a baguette even though it's advertised as a panini.

Simple tuna sandwich at Schiphol airport made from scrumptious brown bread. Whilst the tuna mix was good the highlight was the bread

Dutch Cheese Chicken Sandwich

So a quick snack on my transit stop. I was flying to the #unitedstates from my visit home and decided to grab a quick bite while a layover at the #amsterdamschiphol airport. Well the quick bite soon turned into a mega snack as soon as I walked through this place. Everything looked so delicious that I ended up over eating. I am a big fan of how the food is presented in Europe, very fresh clean doesn't make you question it's origin. In this Photo: Dutch Cheese Ham Sandwich, Sausage Roll, Coconut Macaroon, Regular Cafe Latte, #heineken . Verdict: .I tend to steer away from airport food, but this place the way the food was presented was unbelievably tempting. I was not a big fan of the sandwich the bread seemed a bit to hard to start off

Smoked salmon with horseradish

Nice relief after airplane cr*p. I got smoked salmon sandwich with yougurt, everything was fresh and authentic. Most airport restaurants usually suck and get low reviews, but this one was very very good. If the same place was not in the airport but on the street, I'd still come

As far as food options in lounge 2 goes, this place looks appealing. It's fresh and bright, and they seem to specialise in sandwiches and focaccia. We got two sandwiches, two large cokes (from a post mix machine) and a chocolate muffin. Food was ok - my sandwich bread was a little hard on top so it had obviously been sitting out a while. Still, it was nice. The sore point was the price which was nearly €23. That's mad. Not sure I'd eat here again.

A little open air market with different stations is cool and disperses a long wait in line: sandwiches, salads, pizzas, and various hot plates. Self explanatory by the above station categories, but the hot plates are interesting with Dutch thrown in front of all. Dutch Hamburger, Dutch fish croquettes, Dutch BBQ Sausages to name a few. Also fascinating is the Bacon, Potato, and Sour Cream pizza. Mmmmm...mmmmm! Heineken on top, oh yeah! I got the Dutch BBQ Sausages and Fries ($9.95 EU, $12.20 USD). 2 HUGE sausages, very finely ground, great texture, caramelized onions atop -- they were really terrific. With fresh fries to boot, this was one darn good airport meal. (4.5 stars) Recommend.

The panini caprese was decent enough but nothing to write home about. I suppose it's too much to ask for paninis to be made to order at an airport cafeteria; that certainly would have highlighted the flavours of fresh tomatoes and basil on gooey melted mozzarella. The bread was not noteworthy either. The strawberry yogurt drink was forgettable. All I know is that I should have picked a different drink from the selection. Besides the drink, it wasn't disappointing. Just don't expect gourmet food. :-) An aside: the pizzas looked like they were made using pre-made pizza base available in the supermarket aisles. I certainly wouldn't eat those.

This restaurant is: - Super cute - Markets the Dutch culture with lots of pictures hanging everywhere on the walls - Very Spacious - Covid Friendly - Relaxing seating area - Bar (they even serve booze early in the morning) - Make sure you get a taste of their Heineken (After all Amsterdam is known for that) - Awesome staff - I got lucky and heard the chef singing And most importantly they have a sweet menu with lots of options. I'd ordered their Dutch breakfast that comes with the softest croissant and yummy jelly. Additionally I'd ordered their scrambled eggs that was well sautéed. I was in the mood for eggs and I washed it down with a stiff Irish coffee. Overall great place to hang before your flight and don't worry they serve breakfast, lunch and dinner at all different times in the day. Even booze!!

It almost didn't feel like I was in an airport for lunch besides the planes outsides. It was fresh and served hot. As for the service it seems as though they were understaffed the day I went (not sure is anyone else has had this issue) as it was very slow. So I don't recommend eating here if you are in a hurry to make it to your gate. When we did finally get assistance she was very nice and friendly which made up for the long wait. Our party ordered the crispy chicken sandwich, a burger, and chicken wings. All were very delicious. This restaurant is based on Dutch comfort cooking so if you are in the mood for something different and you have the time eat here.

I got the bacon burger and fries. The beef is different here than in the states, and thus tasted different. I rather enjoyed it. The buns were also grilled a bit and added flavor. Bacon was more like Canadian bacon (similar to American ham). Accompanying fries were think and made European style, so they were crisper. In Holland, it's common to eat them with mayonnaise. They had a cup of that along with a cup of ketchup. The steak we ordered was also good. They cooked it right and had it sitting on top of some carrots, asparagus spears, a slice of squash, and some cherry tomatoes. It was probably cooked on a grill and placed into an iron skillet for plating. Fries also came along with the steaks. Service was a bit on the slow side but very friendly. Overall, 3.5 stars.

This place is a big fat no in my book…read more My coworker ordered a burger that they swear was beef but the texture and taste was all wrong. He also ordered French onion soup which was more like a sweet gravy. The bread that came with it could not be cut even after soaking in the soup. I ordered a goat cheese salad which was described with a list of ingredients, they were accurate but the goat cheese was really more like a goat cream cheese and they put it in a big one inch tube surrounding the salad. There must've been over a cup and a half of that stuff on my plate. Iced tea was carbonated but yummy and the fries were good. We spent almost 50 euros for somewhat edible food. The staff wasn't very accommodating about the burger which was the only thing we complained about.
