So, yeah, kinda hard to say if I can truly rely on my companions responses to the food here as they were, ahem, ya know, not in their necessarily sober mind. Foods ordered: Spicy Burger- I just want to merely recant that the person who had this dish LOVES burgers and has quite a high standard, actually said this was a 5 stars. Now, I don't know if it's cuz he was a bit jolly after the coffeeshop, but he didn't want to share, and still says it was a 5 star burger. You be the judge. Eggs with Bacon- I don't know how wrong you can go with bacon and eggs. This stuff was really really good though. I mean, well seasoned, fluffy eggs, all that stuff. I can't really say much as at the end of the day, it's just bacon and eggs. Pancakes- so my friend who lives here brought us here as this is one of the ONLY place that services AMERICAN style pancakes. Pancakes in Amsterdam are more like swedish crepes really, So, she says they're good. Again, I didn't get to try it, since everyone was really focused on their own plate. You be the judge and try this place. Most likely you'll be going here when you're feeling all happy and jolly, so yeah, this place is going to taste quite incredible. After pigging out on ibercus across the street we decided to had across the street to grab a a drink. They have a bar which you call roll at and smoke and the store next to it was the same franchise but they only sold pot there. From what I understood you can buy pot at one and buy booze at the other, never both at the same location. While we were sitting down we grabbed a few drinks and they were all good and the atmosphere was okay lots of stoners and tourists lol. The guy working there kept playing these random weird songs and would sing from behind the bar and try to get people to sing along. I travel to Amsterdam often, and my my top 5 spots to hit out of Centraal is Barney's. Francesca, Carlaa, Brian, the whole gang is awesome. The buds are enormous if you get there during an inventory re-up. Barney Rubble and Royal Jelly! Barney's was great from the get go. It is helpful to know that they have three different locations on the same street and knowing what you're in the mood for will without a doubt help you decide where to stop. If you're looking to pick up something to smoke, stop #1 has to be to their actual smoke shop, this is the only location you will be able to buy from. They are cash only, so also be prepared for this - there is an ATM just across the street at an Off-License. From here, you can chill and smoke at this venue - for those of you looking for a bit more space you have stop #2 next which is either: Barney's Farm or Barney's Uptown I prefer Barney's Farm during the day for a nice coffee and a smoke this venue also sells alcohol and seeds (not legal to sell bud and alcohol in the same location). You will have coffee/brunch vibe from this place. Great spot for a midday stop in. I prefer Barney's Uptown for a later in the evening lounge vibe. They have a live DJ on the weekends and they play variety of great music. Here you can enjoy a beer or a nice glass of wine with your smoke - the staff is great and quite hilarious. You get the best bang for your buck at these places. Not only are they a minutes walk from one another, but they're also at the part of town where everything starts to become more lively. The variety of bud is great and not too costly - I highly recommend the pre rolled joints. read more

Came by here a few times during my stay, to smoke and enjoy they're delicious food! This place is so so so so GOOD! Everything I had there from the coffee, weed, pita + hummus, waffles, chicken wings ALL DELISH! and you're high so watch out, you might catch yourself ordering more things then usual on the menu haha! I liked this whole chain and visited 3 of their locations. I think Barney's Lounge is the most spacious/least busy but I easily found somewhere to sit the multiple times of day I dropped in. Good pot, high prices which I expected in the city centre. The only negative is almost all of their volcano bags are leaky! I'm sure they replace them but people accidentally burn/pop them often but it's always nice to have a bag without a bunch of tape holding the smoke in! read more

I was recommended here from a friend who'd been to Amsterdam before. It didn't disappoint. My best friend and I split a pre-rolled Blue Gelato and we were out by the halfway point-split between the two of us! The workers were super friendly and helpful as well-made us feel super at ease for our first time in one of Amsterdam's famous Coffeeshops. The food at Barney's uptown was awesome as well. You can smoke and enjoy some amazing burgers and drinks in a nice environment just across the street from the actual Coffeeshop. 10/10 read more

This review is solely for the doorman as I never actually went inside this place. As I was traveling to Amsterdam, I rented a bike and started riding around. I soon realized I was lost and end up seeing this man in front of the store. I needed help locking my bike as I had just rented it and didn't know how to lock it. I went to ask him and he quickly came over and helped me with both locking my bike and giving me directions to the Amsterdam Museum, where I was trying to go. I stopped here for breakfast and lunch on two separate days a few years ago.. and still vividly (and fondly) remember both experiences. Barney's has a relaxing ambiance and serves generous portions of delicious food. Most of the food are things you'd easily find on a menu in the US, though.. so don't expect anything "exotic." While the company is generally friendly and laid back, this isn't really a family friendly place due to the fact that they do, in fact, give you the option to enjoy herbs of the smokable/edible variety with your food. read more

Yes, I am a fan of the Barney's empire. Whenever I am in Amsterdam it's one of my first stops. The quality is extremely high and it's typically a line to wait in. The line moves fairly quickly and the guys that work there are knowledgeable. It's always very warm in this shop, I recommend that you wear layers as you will likely need to remove a few throughout the course of your stay. If your in the mood, there are volcano's on each table, definitely worth a try. read more

Awesome location and well-run business; Barney's coffeeshop is across the street from Barney's cafe (and adjacent to Barney's Farm), so you can either stay and hang there or enjoy your product with a meal/snack. Also one of the few coffeeshops we visited with Volcanoes at every table. Best place in the city period. The downside is that it's small and like a dungeon, so I rarely hang out here, but you do need to stop in to stock up and go hang out in a park, on the canal, or at the Barney's seed shop next door where you can enjoy your purchases. read more

If you're a tourist visiting Amsterdam and are looking for an interesting and memorable place to eat then Barney's is a must try. As the name indicates they serve breakfast (dutch style).
