If you are a coffee junky like me, and happen to be roaming in Amsterdam, then you must visit this joint! In the heart of city, you can easily go pass it while you visit Anne Frank or just walking in main shopping area. Good well extracted coffee, decent setting if you wana sit in, and friendly staff!

Located in between the Jordaan area and Central Amsterdam, this cafe serves excellent espresso drinks. This was one of our favorite spots to grab a cappuccino, and rest our feet as we sat on a bench outside in the sunshine. It's a great spot to relax and admire the beautiful architecture and to people watch.

Well I wouldn't say I'm a coffee snob or an expert or anything like that, but I do like what I like. It was hard to find good coffee in Amsterdam (cold brew, iced coffee without being blended and whipped cream), and Il Momento became our go-to spot. For me, the iced latte (soy) and for him, the flat white. We looked forward to our little homebase like homing pigeons. The first day, we asked for a breakfast recommendation and the barista recommended Greenwoods which was a great tip! We returned a few times and enjoyed our drinks each time. It's small inside but it's a nice spot to take a stroll, and there is a bench outside with a few little tables or milk crates to sit at.

Just met the owner of this brand new coffee shop. He's really excited to talk about coffee - roasting green beans, who is roasting in Amsterdam, how the coffee culture is evolving here. The shop has a very cool vibe bothered a lot of reclaimed/salvaged heavy iron and warm wood. A massive shiny silver rocket shaped espresso machine sits near the front of the bar, overlooking the windows and the canal beyond. Coming soon is a small roaster right in shop! I had two good cups of espresso with different house roasted beans. Both pretty killer. Price was spot on too - 2€ for the first, just 1€ for the next. In addition to coffee and pastry there's everything else you might want - a bunch of roasts of beans, lots of coffee making supplies. Sounds like business is good; they're already converted enough customers from buy ground beans to grinding their own hat they're already run out of Hario burr grinders! I'll be back tomorrow for pour over.

Cafe Il Momento is a nice coffee bar at the Singel, close to Central Station. It is a great spot for a quick coffee. The flat Whites are really good and come with a little piece of 'stroopwafel' (Dutch waffle cookie with caramel). They sell small pastries as well, quite a selection! Also croissants. There is not a menu on the wall but you can ask. A flat white will cost you 3,50, so not cheap but it tasted great. It is not really a great spot if you want to sit down for a long time since the stools are not really that comfortable but it is good for a little break between shopping. The owner is a friendly guy who will be happy to help you. They opened about 9 months ago and I think they are here to stay, it was pretty busy all the time but of course the location is good as well. I loved the industrial look of they with the bare brick wall. Also like that they sell some coffee things like books, mugs and French presses and such,

Went back, five years later, and it was a great as we remembered. Wonderful, friendly service to boot.

    Even nice for tea.

Very nice vibe, great location when you want a break from then tourist crowds. Coffee is ok, a bit bunrnt and not as smooth as for example Bruno's.

One of my favorite coffee places in Amsterdam. Great coffee. Sit on one of the benches outside and watch the world go by.

So good I stopped by twice on a 3 day trip to the city…read more I stopped by on my first visit craving a big, hearty sandwich for a late lunch and thought this might be a good find. Happy to report I was very right. I grabbed one of the many outside seats, took a look at the menu that was entirely in Dutch and waited for the wonderful waitress to quickly translate nearly every item for me. I landed on the chicken club and it hit the spot. I arrived hungry but could still only manage to finish half. Chicken was grilled perfectly into thin slices, soft boiled egg was a new touch that I loved, avocado, lettuce and probably a few other things I am forgetting. Oh, and a handful of crisps on the side. On my next visit, it was my last night in Amsterdam and I still haven't tried the infamous fries. I stopped in around 9:30 for a late night snack and a hot ginger tea. The fries were the perfect fries! Thin, crispy, salty. I loved. I also can get behind the mayo thing they do here, even though I really am a ketchup loyalist. Anyway, lunch or dinner or late night snack, this is a good spot. You'll like the foot and you'll love sitting outside people watching, reading your book, whatever.
