Great stop for a light breakfast! A little pricey but it was a cute place so it's okay! I got a chai and lemon poppyseed cake while my friend got a tea and a croissant. Everything was delicious! The building instead is gorgeous and if you can snag a spot in the courtyard is wonderful! The workers are all very nice and speak English!

Lovely cafe located on the side of the Old Church. They have an online ordering system (scan the QR code at your table) and they'll bring out your order to your table directly, so it saves you the need to stand in a line to order and then find a table. They had quite a few pastry options but we were short on time so we did not order any, some looked quite tasty though! I wish the online menu has larger/more obvious pictures as that might have swayed our choices more. We got the latte macchiato and matcha latte and personally I think their espresso drink was much better than the matcha (despite the fact that I love matcha), so I'd go for an espresso based drink from here! There's also a small courtyard/outdoor seating area, but that's a hit or miss depending on the weather. All in all, lovely coffee shop but it is fairly crowded.

The apple pie here was one of the best things I've ever tasted. The apple slices weren't too mushy, and I liked that the pie crust was rich and flavorful like a pound cake. I also got a cappuccino, and the espresso flavor was very strong. If I come back to Amsterdam again I'm definitely revisiting this cafe.

Very cute little place in the base of the old church. Cozy coffee place with a QR menu and good service. The place is very tiny but tables come quick. Near the tourist area so expect plenty of non-Dutch folks here. Ambiance is very chill and coffee is pretty good! They had some pastries too, but we did not partake. Good stop in the tourist zone!

Cutest store in town, quiet place to read, phenomenal latte and milk art. I don't know why this isn't the #1 recommended coffee shop in central Amsterdam. This was in walking distance to my hotel and appeared to be connected to an old church? Was looking for a cute local place and found one.

Beautiful cafe located in a cute old church. The area is full of tourists (it is in de Wallen/the Red Light District) but this cafe seems to have some sort of magic power that makes the world seem peaceful and quiet. The courtyard/outdoor space is just lovely. I mean absolutely lovely. I bet on a summer day, it is the place to be. The inside is cozy and welcoming and a nice respite from the loud, cold world around the area. I had the chai latte. Very delicious. I also tried a gluten free almond cake. It was soooo good. I feel like I need to figure out how to make it myself. I like how the menu tells you where the cakes and such are from so if you want to buy a whole one or visit the bakery, you can.

De koffie Schenkerij (coffee and cake at the oude kerk). Suck a cool place, tucked in the back of a church right off the Oudezijds Voorburgwal. Say that 5 times fast, but if you have more than 5 people, you might have a hard time finding a spot to sit in this little place. While it's cute, it's not a great place for bigger parties. Unless, it's warm outside and you want to sit in their garden. Tracie and I just wanted somewhere to journal for a bit before getting into all the touristy stuff. Their coffee is great, I had a cappuccino, they even decorated it with a pretty little swan in the foam. Tracie and I shared a yummy pastry. It tasted like a burrito. It was so good. A golden pot pie pastry stuffed with veggies and beans. These savory little pies are limited supply and the menu changes daily. They also serve juices and sodas along with weed pies, loaves and breads. Once Tracie and I settled into the room to the left of the counter, I got a good look at the place. It is super cozy. The walls are covered in a heavy fabric, the lighting is great and there are plants and extra details all over the place. Follow me on instagram @eatcakeyall

Nice cafe in Old Amsterdam Church. Small quite caffe with awesome chai latte and nice view from here the window. Warm and charming atmosphere. You can rest and listen peaceful music. Beautiful place at the center of Amsterdam. Must stop after visiting Old Church or just while walking near by.

This lovely cafe is in the heart of the red light district. Both the interior and exterior are so well designed! On a nice day it's so nice to sit outside :) it has a nice ambiance to sit around and people watch, do some work, or have good convos with friends. The tea drinks are quite interesting. They put actual mint leaves in their drink, which brings a unique taste and also makes it look so pretty! Their espressos are so-so. I ordered a latte, and was not as good as I expected it to be. But I would definitely come back here if I ever visit Amsterdam again!

Where should I begin to say how lovely and special is this place for me? I used to spend so many days in here doing my Dutch homework and drinking lots of cappuccinos. A very lovely coffeeplace inside the Old Church in Red Light District (locals call it De Wallen) with a charming garden and good bocca cofee. Even though it is very spacious you can always have trouble finding a sitting spot as it is very busy. I understand why. But it's worth trying. They serve coffee, tea, apple pie, soups and some very delicious sandwiches. Service is at the bar but you get used to it. Reasonable prices for the quality u receive. The staff is mostly very attentive and sometimes friendly, and they always do their job. They have working wifi and that can come handy if you are a tourist or you wanna work from this place. I came a couple of times with my laptop and because I was spending more time I got to have nice conversations with the owner. It's idilic, it's charming and it doesn't feel you are in the Red Light. Come visit them and leave a sunny spot for me please, thank you

This cafe is so beautiful. During the summer and any other warm time of the year, they have such a cute little outside space in a great part of the city. Their indoor space is also so nice!!! They have a second floor, too. However, the drinks were alright. I was disappointed they didn't have any type of iced coffee. I know I'm that obnoxious American but I feel like most cafes have some type of iced drinks now. So I got a lemonade but it was basically sugar water with a hint of lemon. Also they use paper straws which is nice and eco-friendly but since I was drinking sugar water, it basically got too mushy. I guess I will update my review when I try the coffee. I'd go back for the setting!

Quiet spot in the middle of a very touristy area. The garden is lovely on a nice day but even if the weather is not good, there are plenty of seats inside. The coffee drinks are pretty good, nothing special but good enough. The Apple pie was also good. Not great but good. The garden is the star here and if you are in the area and want a break from the loads of people, this is a good spot to rest and take some refreshments.

Which makes me wonder... do faeries claim nationalities? I hope not. There's a minuscule indoor seating area, but come spring and summer - as long as it's not raining - you'll want to move on back to the very leafy and verdant outdoor terrace. If you're lucky, the one table that gives you rain protection but is still technically outdoors will be available. I was lucky. And it did sprinkle while I was there. I can't speak to the food. I only had fresh mint tea, served with honey and a teensy cookie. Let me tell ya... it was the day after Amsterdam's hottest day in recorded history and the entire city was just tuckered out. Feeble even. That's why I asked for ice and made my hot tea into an iced mint tea. Re-freshing! The menu offerings are limited but apparently satisfying judging from my dining companions' happy faces. The two women caring for us were terrific about setting the friendly tone. I'd say about 95% of the people were ordering the apple pie, so of course we had to get one to see what the hype was about. The apple pie is pretty unique, it's basically a big chunk of cooked apple topped with a sweet, crumbly cookie like crust. The flavor reminded me of those little brown biscuits you get as airplane snacks... basically Biscoff cookies. lol!!! Overall, you really taste the natural apple flavor along with that Biscoff like cookie flavor. The pie itself isn't very sweet, which I actually liked, but adding some whipped cream definitely brings up the sweetness and makes it even better. The setup is pretty straightforward: get in line, order and pay, pick up your food, then find your own seat. It's definitely a popular spot, so be prepared for the crowd and a bit of a wait.
