Didn't come in here with any expectations. Great location at quaint and chic neighborhood. Really close to the Van Gogh museum. I've been visiting hundreds of coffee houses when I travel. After a while only few that stands out. The concept for this place stand out to me. It is a coffee bar with a PR firm attached to it. The office space is located on the basement level of this cafe. The design and the decor are very trendy and clean. It is simple and classy. With the booming coffee culture in the Netherlands, I don't necessarily think this place stands out for its coffee. Nevertheless, they do have decently good coffee imported from an Italian roaster. I personally prefer some of the local 3rd wave coffee Dutch roasters (such as Lot 61, Man met Bril, Blommers among others). The service is friendly and it seems that many Amsterdam locals visit this place regularly. I can see myself bringing my computer to work. It is chill and the place looks great when the sun isn't hiding. :-) I would definitely come back another day to just chill and bring my laptop to do some work here. There's plenty of daylight coming in from the big glass windows. It got healthy, fresh juice options for non coffee drinker. Overall, I was quite impressed. I myself was considering open a coffee house with an attached film production/ advertising company. This place has proven me that the set up could work. As for people who are looking for a nice cafe to chill near the Van Gogh museum or the Vondelpark, this is a perfect spot.

You know you've hit a jackpot when you see a middle aged lady lounging on the sofa and half-asleep. It's almost like your living room, except that the guests pay for snacks and lunch, and don't make much noise. The coffee - it's good. They also have a nice food and snacks menu and have good looking (and presumably, good tasting) muffins. Oh, mint infused water for free!

Stumbled upon this coffee shop while in Amsterdam & I LOVED it!! I came in on a Sunday afternoon and it wasn't too busy. Staff were extremely friendly and the vibe was great! Free wifi & music was on point which is a plus. I got an ice coffee & the spicy chicken wrap which was super delicious. Will try to stop again before I leave the city. Definitely recommend you check it out if you are looking for something not too "touristy" or busy.

I came here with great expectations on an early morning in Amsterdam. I wasn't wowed, but this was a cute place for a cup if you're in the area. It's on a corner, with windows making the interior nice and bright. When you enter, you go up the stairs and order at the little bar. You'll place your coffee order and then pay when you're ready to leave (if you're getting coffee to stay versus for take away). I stayed and sat at a table (seating is limited), as there was free wifi that I used to plan the rest of my day in the city. I had an americano - it was what you'd expect it to be. There's a little office in the bottom of the shop, which I couldn't tell if it was for workers at CoffeeConcepts or not... it confused me and was slightly distracting to sit by.

Maybe my expectations were too high, but it didn't really meet the bar. Nice decoration, though

Ever been on a trip and you love a place so much that you JUST have to keep coming back to it over…read moreand over again? Well, that was us with Koffie Academie. We were here three times during our stay in Amsterdam, and I think I found my brand new favorite coffee shop in the city, and I was really sad that I had to leave it behind when our vacation was over. The most convenient part is that it was within walking distance of our hotel and right across from the train station. To keep a piece of Koffie Academie with me back at home in the States, I chose to buy a bag of their Rwanda-style coffee beans. On our first visit, I just had their cappuccino alone since it was later in the afternoon and I had already had lunch, but during the second and third visit, I tried their croissants. Amsterdam, hands down, has the BEST coffee ever. I think way better than the coffee in other European countries we've visited during our trip so far. I had to put sugar in my cappuccino during every visit to make it sweeter (sugar cubes and sugar packets are available). This was my parents' second time in Amsterdam and they stuck with their mochas, which they had before. Both the croissants I had were flaky on the outside and buttery on the inside. My mom had their coconut square treat which, I believe, had either strawberries or raspberries inside with a solid chocolate topping. While I didn't get the chance to try it, I thought that it looked delicious! I think I want to try this during my next trip to Amsterdam. Koffie Academie, you have not been forgotten in my memory. Can't wait to see you again upon my return to Amsterdam in the near future!

What a brilliant cortado!…read more I arrived in town before I could check in so I settled here to answer some emails while I wait. What a cozy cafe with brilliant coffee. My cortado was excellent and while I didn't purchase any the baked sweets looked very appetizing. I came back 2 more times during my stay in Amsterdam which is very unlike me because I like to try many cafes when I travel. Fyi - the espresso is quite strong for my taste so if that is something you're sensitive to then adjust your order.
