Eggs Benedict with bacon and avocado
Jaime R.

After attending G's boat brunch And loving it i wanted to go back and try the restaurant which offers a larger menu. The decor at G's is pretty eclectic where some tables are positioned near couches where you can sit on the couch while you enjoy your brunch. G's also offers an extensive Bloody Mary menu. I unfortunately do not like Bloody Mary's but if I did I would be in heaven. I ordered the brunch dip which was amazing. A warm dip of tomato, bacon, avocado and sour cream that is eaten spelt is delicious. I love breakfast appetizers but who doesn't! I then had the eggs Benedict with bacon and avocado which was just as good as the dip! Everyone enjoyed their meal, atmosphere and service. I highly recommend G's for breakfast or brunch!

The all important drinks menu!

Gs is one of my favourite little spots to hang out- they do brunch, lunch and dinner on some nights and let me tell you, it's full of hip and swagger but for good reason! The G in Gs, stands for George- who you'll recognise as the charming gentleman who generally greets as you walk in. If he's not at the restaurant, he's on the Gs boat and if you can't find him there, he's likely at Ludwig! Anyway, when I first arrived in pretty Amsterdam, I was told about this great brunch spot, but given my limited (good) food experience in Amsterdam, I assumed the restaurant was a unicorn. In other words, non-existent, made up and fabricated with many of us randomly chasing the dream. But imagine my surprise, when I finally made it in on a frosty grey morning- orders were taken, drinks were served and stomachs were filled. We were smart enough to make a booking before hand so the wait was only momentary- it's worth doing on the weekend because getting in here can be tough. They do however only book half the tables, so you can luck out and get in! So things that are a must to order? They're famous for a few things, firstly the bloody marys! There's currently 6 different kinds (YES! 6!) and if you add an oyster (for an extra €3), you upgrade Mary to Mitzy, Mary's sluttier sister! Not into tomatoes? Well.. good thing they have a bunch of other drinks on their menu! Hello bourbon peanut butter milkshake! Then there's the eggs benedict- it also comes in a variety of ways that'll surely satisfy anybody (except if you're vegan because uhm.. eggs). There's also a menu special worth calling out- The Hungry Drunk. This king sized meal comes with eggs any which way, some baked beans and your choice of sides and.. wait for it....... 4 BLOODY MARYS! So you better be hungry and thirsty! Now, if brunch isn't your thing, well poo to you. But come back most Thursday evenings for a bit of jerk(in)' things like chicken, ribs, fries and old school hip hop! Yep, Gs, in a nutshell- good people, good food and good fun!

This was by far my favorite find in Amsterdam. A brunch and cocktail place. What else needs to be said? The decor is fantastic and the people are nice. Reservation highly suggested as it's a small space. The brunch is hearty and a great deal with high quality ingredients and precious presentation. The ginger tea was to die for. Definitely a must-eat-at place in the heart of the Jordaan district of Amsterdam.

It is supremely crazy that I had never even heard of this great spot so close to home all these years. Luckily, that has been taken care of and I had my first brunch here today. Let's get this out of our way - the food is terrific! Between us, we ordered the French toast, breakfast burrito, the avocado toast, dauphinoise potatoes, and bloody marys. Everything was deliciously awesome. From the syrup to the toast, everything was near perfect. We thoroughly enjoyed our brunch, and best of all didn't come out feeling bloated and helpless for the rest of the day. Service was great and with a smile, which is something that you almost universally miss at the majority of mediocre Amsterdam establishments. The hosts were gracious and welcoming, often times engaging in interesting stories with the patrons. The interior serves as an art gallery where local artists could exhibit their pictures and drawings/paintings on the walls as hungry people cherish one of the best things in life. There's a regular Sunday evening movie event, too, which explained the dangling projector from the ceiling. Space is congested and we saw quite a few tables for 4 occupied with 2 couples. Of course, anything in the name of great dining, even if it involves being friendly towards others. I really wanted to try the dessert, but didn't have any remaining capacity. Perhaps the next time. In any other city, I would have given G&T's 4 stars owing to lack of enough seating, but this is Amsterdam, and space is at ridiculous premium, so they get what they deserve!

Now named G's, this place was everything and more; G's completely lived up to my expectations and filled me with a delicious, true English breakfast. The menu is fun to read, the food delicious and cooked perfectly, the cocktails look so tempting you feel obliged to drink one, and the staff are happy! I can wait to go back again. Best brunch spot in Amsterdam so far for me!

One of the best spots in Amsterdam for brunch - cooked by my very talented friend Mia in a very small kitchen. And lord, the magic she manages to prepare in there! You probably think I'm biased and I am sure I am. But I am also right about this place. Everything on the menu is good - no great. Eggs Benedict, BLTCA sandwich, scones, milkshakes (which they will serve again once they replace the broken blender), coffee, ginger tea, challah French toast. And of course: their Bloody Mary. Do not go here if you are in a hurry: you will probably have to wait a bit for a table and service is laid back. Which kind of fits. G's is a little gem that is definitely worth your visit. It has me coming back time after time!

We came here on a Sunday morning and were lucky enough to get a seat without a reservation, although you do get punished for that by being sat at the bar or on barstools by the window (not super comfy). I feel like I either ordered the wrong thing, or the food here looks better than it tastes, because I wasn't too impressed with my "Healthy Benedict". That could be my fault though because I'm currently on a diet that prohibits any and all bread - so my eggs on cottage cheese, avo, and spinach were admittedly a bit sad to begin with. The eggs were poached to perfection but I found the hollandaise and the spinach lacking. My friend ordered the Challah French Toast though which looked completely heavenly and he was very satisfied. Lots of bonus points for the excellent (Friendly! English!!) service, good coffee and good atmosphere. I will be coming back to try the bloody marys!

Lit. Yelp says the review is too short. But nothing else needs to be said. Pancakes gave me diabetes and I'm not even mad, they were so good. Eggs and avo were California level. Wish we came here sooner and didn't eat at a shit nugget of a place called Burger Land that isn't even on Yelp bc the owners know better than to subject themselves to verbal abuse.

French Toast!

What a great vibe and what a tasteful French Toast! The cocktails at 11AM makes me a bit tipsy, but was worth it. The French Toast is the best I've had so far. G's is a small and cosy restaurant, nice interior. I love it how they set the table with dishes, looks like it comes straight from the cabinet of my grandma. Are you looking for a great brunch with cocktails? G's is the best spot in Amsterdam!

Mmmmmm... Cinnamon roll!

G & T's Really Nice Place is......really nice! I first came here on a tip that they serve Eggs Benedict, which is rare in A'dam. Not only did they have great, reasonably priced Eggs Benedict, the server was chill and very polite, the atmosphere was cozy and warm, and the people were beautiful and urbane. Sitting in the window listening to the women behind me on the couch giggle and speak in French or English depending on which friends stopped by while they drank their cocktails on a Sunday afternoon gave me the feeling I live in a hip, international city. It was a good atmosphere to go along with the good food. :)

Small and nice place for brunch on the week end. + Nice service with tasty and comfort food. Try the eggs benedicts in combination with a bloody mary! Cool atmosphere a bit retro, all you need to chill on a sunday morning - It gets crowded fast... don't forget to make a reservation!

Boca's - Beef burger with shavings of foie gras & truffle mayo, 2 thumbs up!

Everything about this place was great!…read more I'll start with the service. We walked in around 4:10 and they didn't start food service for another 20 minutes. The waiter was super cool and told us to have a seat anywhere we liked and brought us a drink menu. He knew we wanted to eat so at exactly 4:30 he came and took our orders. Through out the meal he was on top of everything and even offered many suggestions! The food was spectacular as well. I had the trio of fries and my friends had other small plates that were all so good! And the sauces that come with the fries, mamma mia! We also shared the Boca's Platter and it was absolutely to die for. Do not pass this up. I repeat, do not pass this up! Between 4 people, the medium was plenty of food. The space itself was also nice. They had outdoor seating for nicer days. We went right when food service began on a Monday afternoon so can't speak to how busy it gets during peak hours. Go for the great service, go for the Boca Platter, whatever you do, just go!

The bruschetta was delicious and if you love blue cheese, get it...it's extremely rich and creamy. The three kinds of fries were solid; curly, sweet potato, and regular with some chili ketchups. The boca platter was HUGE and we got the medium for 4 people. Came with steak, fried shrimp, mackerel potato salad, crostini, and an assortment of cheeses and some pepperoni. Last but not least...my favorite...the tartare. The quail egg was delicately placed atop the center of the meat and placed alongside the four little crostini on the plate. It was juicy and had so much flavor, a little spicy but not an overwhelming amount of chili spice. This meal reminded me of tapas in Madrid; definitely stop by bocas and get everything!

Coffee & Coconuts, seriously another amazing cafe that I visited during my trip in Amsterdam!…read more This cafe is hidden on the outside, but once you step inside, it is massively huge with three stories of dining tables. After waiting to be seated, our hostess guided us upstairs to the third floor, where they have several more dining tables and cozy couches that you can sit on while you enjoy your coffee. My parents, having visited this cafe before during their last trip to Amsterdam, raved about this place and suggested that I try their famous coconut coffee. All three of us ordered their coconut coffee, with my dad adding an espresso shot to his own so that he could stay awake for the rest of the night. Once I reached that first sip, OMG. SO DELICIOUS. How can I make my own coconut coffee back at home?! I loved it so much that I really want to make a copycat of it. The straws are also bendable, which really makes it handy if you need to lower your straw a bit. If I could, I would get on a plane to Amsterdam just to come back for their coconut coffee. That's how delicious it is! Local or tourist, I strongly suggest Coffee & Coconuts. You will not regret coming here at all!

Fantastic ambiance. Friendly service. Excellent food and drink options…read more Casual, trendy, comfy spot for just coffee or a full meal. - Coconut Coffee: A delicious iced drink, rich in coconut and strong coffee flavors. - Royal Apple Juice: Very refreshing blend of apple, carrot, ginger & lime juice. - Kimchi Toast: Good, filling.
