Everything was SO good. We started with the gobi manchurian and it was amazing. We also tried the (split pea??) soup and it was yummy as well. Service was great too! read more

The best Indian food in North Central Florida. Period. Great service, great food, nice people. It's a nearly two hour round trip for us, but we've been eating at Amrit Palace for over 20 years, and have never had a bad experience. If you're looking for great north Indian Cuisine, this is your place! read more

As an avid butter chicken enthusiast, I can safely say, this is the best butter chicken I've ever had in my life. I'm not exaggerating. I hate to admit it, but it was even better than the butter chicken my mom makes at home. The taste and the experience was so memorable. We were seated right away, and while the food did take a little longer than expected, it was 100% worth the wait. We were just passing through the town when we came across this place, but I'm so glad we stopped to eat here. Even though I live very far from Ocala, I will visit this small town just to come to this restaurant again because that's how good the food was. read more

We have eaten here many times this year and have never left feeling disappointed! Amirit Palace always has great food and excellent service.

Delicious food ! If you looking for true Indian cuisine you've come to the right place . We had a delivery -it was on time , well boxed , ready to serve our family . We ordered apps, Entrées and desserts, everything was delicious not one complaint! If you haven't ate here please do . My husband is not an Adventurous man when it comes to food and he ate everything ! read more

While in Ocala on business several weeks ago, we tried this restaurant based on reviews we read. We were so pleased with food and service we not only went back the 2nd nite but booked another business trip this past week so we could enjoy this place again. Kiran, Prince, Savio and Sam all provided great service and made it fun. Try the pakoras, garlic naan and chicken tiki masala. You will not be disappointed! read more

I absolutely love this place. I've been many times and I'm never disappointed. Today my husband and I enjoyed a vindaloo and a butter chicken. Both were excellent. We tried the chili naan for the first time. The spice was perfect. All the flavors are amazing. The dal soup comes with your lunch and it is the perfect start. I should have taken a picture of our meals, but we dove in too quickly. So, the only picture I have is of an Indian beer they offer - Taj Mahal - and my vodka drink - the name of which I've forgotten. read more

Loved it! Does not matter it's in Ocala - loved it! My other truly stand out Indian restaurant is in Northampton, Massachussets. Oh, and there is also one in San Rafael, California. This place is authentic, has a very nice ambiance and decor and very friendly waiters. There were also many Indians dining here, which you know is a good sign. We tried the dal soup, the eggplant entree and vegetable tikka masala - a special order on my behalf. Along with the garlic naan and a roti bread. There was not one morsel left on the table. They do not serve you those thin thin lentil crackers most Indian restaurants do, which is fine as I don't particularly care for them anyhow. A great stop and very easy to get to being immediately off i-75. read more

This was a really great find in Ocala!! The ambiance and decor of this place is really great. We got seated really quickly and the servers were very helpful with recommendations. They were all very friendly and overall service was great. The food was really good too and I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to try Indian food. It wasn't too spicy though, despite us requesting more spice in our food. read more

It is ok, for the serving amount the price is high for two orders. It was ok . Thank you for the experience

RESTAURANT REVIEW: We decided to stop at Indian restaurant Amrit Palace while shopping in Ocala. There is no such restaurant in The Villages and we were really craving Indian food. Boy, am I glad we did. The food was delicious; every bit as good as back home. We started with dal soup, a mild but flavorful split pea, ginger and garlic option. We then split two appetizers--vegetable samosas and samosa chaat (potato turnovers with chickpeas, onions, yogurt, tamarind, and mint). I preferred the vegetable samosas even though I know some people find them dry. I thought they were very flavorful and nicely crispy. My husband and son preferred the samosa chaat which was good, but a bit too spicy for me. For entrees, we had navrattan korma, (cauliflower, potato, peppers, snow peas, cashews, and raisins), which was creamy and absolutely delicious; aloo gohbi, (cauliflower, potato, and green peas), which was a bit dry but still good and chicken tikka masala, (chicken, tomato, peppers, onions, ginger, and garlic), which was also creamy and very tasty. All three entrees were served over rice. The rice was average but one of the real stars of the show for me was the garlic cheese naan which was simply the best naan I've ever had. If you like Indian food, put this on your list of places to visit. The decor is modern Indian and the service is friendly and prompt. It's a bit of a drive, but we definitely plan to go back! read more

Damn. This place was not a joke. Got the chicken tikka masala and the methi malai veggie dish, both were spicy and creamy and everything you want in a good Indian takeout order. The onion mulch's and garlic naan were also on point. I'm only sad that this place isn't a little closer to Gainesville, but not so far away that I can't make it for a nice dinner here and there. This time around I just got takeout so I can't speak to the dining experience much, but the decor in the restaurant was nice and the takeout service was lovely. We even asked for some extra onions and chili peppers on the side and they were quick to help us out. I will definitely be back - they have an extensive menu and I can't wait to try some of the more off the beaten path dishes. Pros: Takeout service Food - so spicy and delicious Quick Location close to I-75 Cons: Price - at $15-16 for an entree to takeout, it's a little expensive for Indian food, but it was worth it. It's a pretty solid serving size read more

Being the only Indian restaurant in the area, it seems like they have let themselves go completely. I have been there twice and have been completely disappointmented both times. Imagine going and buying $50 worth of food driving 80 miles to and back, and then having to end up going to the kitchen afterall. The food that we got were chicken biryani, tika masala and butter chicken. The curries were very disappointing. I would know, I am asian. The curries tasted raw, like they weren't cooked enough. I could taste the raw masalas and the ginger in it. I had to cook it down before I could eat it. People usually get take out to avoid the kitchen. They missed the mark both times. I don't hold high standards when eating out because nothing beats a home cooked meal, but their food was abysmal. I feel bad for who think their food is good. Just go to Gaineville, you wont be disappointed. read more

Always good food and great service! My favorite is the Tikka Masala and Peshawari naan are two of my favorites!

I have to start by saying I have taken 2 trips to this restaurant and both times I left so happily full! We were seated right away both times and someone came immmediately to take our drink order. We ordered the vegetable samosas to start and they were delicious! We couldn't wait for the main course. Now we are not into very spicy food and knowing that indian food can really lean to spicy we decided to tread lightly and order mild butter chicken and chicken tikka masala. Even mild they were so full of flavor! We took the nann that we ordered as a side and were just scooping up the sauce. It was perfectly seasoned, creamy and delicious. I wish they would bottle their butter chicken sauce because I would put that on a shoe and eat it! Severs and only who I can assume were the owners checked on us multiple times and made sure we were taken care of. I wish I lived closer so I could be a regular here but whenever I am in the area I cant image stopping anywhere else. Thank you for a wonderful dinner! read more

Don't really get the hype for this place, but maybe I've just been spoiled by the Indian restaurants in Coral Springs (@Arun's Indian Kitchen)... We came in on a Saturday afternoon so the lunch specials didn't apply. My party decided to share the entrees and we were dissatisfied by the price for the portions you're getting. We ordered (all mild): -chicken tikka masala -chicken curry -butter chicken -lamb madras Besides the lamb,we couldn't tell which dish was which. Each dish was about avg $15 and there were maybe 10-15 small niblets of chicken per dish.We sparingly ate 2 bites per entree. Heard lots of great things but unfortunately I was very disappointed. Service was great though - nice and friendly servers. read more

Fast seating is the only positive. Food VERY bland despite indicating wanted spicy. Waiter pressured us to order. Half way through meal printed the soup appetizer, which he had forgot. The dal soup tasted totally bland which is expected if no spice is added. The meals are ala carte and overpriced. Their competition is a few miles away but well worth the trip to get a much better meal! read more

So tasty and affordable - definitely returning. Portions are the right size - not too big or small

I had an early dinner here on 6-15-2022 with a former trainee and his wife. It had been a number of years since we'd seen each other in person, but we were recognizable. LOL. I'm a pretty basic eater. Nothing too fancy. Nothing too spicy. I was up for Indian food because I have had it before and it was fine. Amrit does a good job on the food too. Plenty of it. Hot to the touch, which is important. I had chicken and rice as my main courses. Both were good. Seasoned pretty good too. I did put a little sauce on my chicken and rice too. The bread was even better. I could have just eaten that and been satisfied....almost!! Our server was good too, but I don't recall his name. The inside of the restaurant was nicely decorated too. Very authentic looking. The only issue was before I got into the restaurant with a parking situation. I think the guy was looking to have his family cash in his insurance policy! I liked the food and I can see myself coming back. Keep up the good work. read more

The garlic naan was not as garlic-y as I wanted, but it was fresh and warm and chewy. The Chicken Tika Masala was RICH, thick, well flavored, and almost creamy! Even though they guaranteed me it had no dairy products in it, and I didn't have a reaction. It was a little pricey...I've definitely had better, for less. My friend ordered the lamb curry which he thoroughly enjoyed. I didn't try it. Not sure I'd come back, but it was a slightly better than average experience. read more

Decided to go here after driving all over Ocala looking for a place to eat. Everywhere my wife Joi and I would go to was packed and people were waiting in lines out the door. Anyway, we ended up at Amrit Palace and I am so glad we did. The atmosphere is very inviting. The decor is made to look like you are entering an Indian palace with all its decorative arches. There were some statues of horses and some pictures of India. There was ample seating in booths and even long tables for larger groups. As we entered we noticed they had a party room towards the back of the building. The booths were not very comfortable but did not take away from the dining experience. The menu has many dishes to choose from but Joi and I decided to go for the "Dinner for Two" ($49.95). This includes soup (Vegetable and lentil), an appetizer sampler, two entrees, and dessert. I chose the chicken tandoori and Joi chose lamb curry medium spicy. Pillaw rice and Nan bread is served on the side along with Rayta, Onion Chutney (I loved this one), and Mango Chutney. For dessert we were given Gulab Jamun (Sweet Balls, juicy deep-fried Pastry with Rosewate). The owner or manager served us and was pleasant and gracious. We were well taken care of by the wait staff. There is plenty of parking behind the building with a few spaces out front. read more
