I'm based in Houston and couldn't make a local studio work during the workday--the drive alone would eat the lunch hour. I found this Chicago studio because they offer live virtual classes on reformer and other equipment, with the instructor watching and coaching in real time. That's the piece most "virtual Pilates" options miss. I'm not following a recording. Someone is actually looking at my form, giving corrections, and keeping the class moving. I use my own equipment at home and still get the accountability and instruction I need. They run virtual classes most days, at different times, which is what finally let me stay consistent. I also took a class in their Chicago studio when I was in town. The teaching and energy matched what I'd already experienced online. If you live outside Chicago and want live coaching instead of another on-demand library, this is it! read more

This is a good Pilates studio with knowledgeable instructors. The location is across from a superb coffee shop too. They have lockers for your belongings, a check-in desk, studio in the back with about 8(?) reformers. Clean equipment. I would definitely go back. read more

I had an amazing experience in this program. Angie & Mandie are incredible teachers! So knowledgeable, supportive, and genuinely passionate about what they do. They care about their students & set you up for success. I'm so grateful for my Mat & Reformer experience and highly recommend it to anyone considering Pilates certification. I will definitely be back to take classes here because they are truly that good!! read more

Beautiful studio in a great location. I was able to visit and take a class while I was in Chicago. Signing up was easy and since I was new I got a special rate for my first class. I booked a tower class which was amazing. The instructor was patient, gave great cues and their studio was set up so we could all easily see her and follow along. It was a nice challenge to do an entire class on a tower. I'd highly recommend coming to check them out, I'll be back on my next visit. read more

Amplified is in such a great central location, and parking is really easy with a reasonably priced lot right there which makes getting to sessions so convenient. Lizzie is honestly the best Pilates instructor I've ever had. She does such a good job making every session feel customized to exactly what you need while also making sure you feel comfortable the entire time. She knows how to push you in the best way without it ever feeling intimidating, and I always leave feeling stronger and accomplished. She's also just genuinely so kind, friendly, and encouraging which makes the experience even better. You can tell she really cares about her clients and their progress. I seriously can't recommend her enough! read more

I love Amplified! The group classes are small enough that you get individualized instruction and the workouts are no joke. It really comes down to the caliber of the teachers and they all so great and knowledgeable. I'm so glad to have found it, highly recommend! read more

The people running Amplified Pilates Center were very friendly and professional and a pleasure to work with. And I cannot say enough good things about Katie, my one-on-one instructor. She was so nice and patient and knowledgeable, that I signed up for more classes after my introductory course with her. I know there are a lot of choices in Chicago for Pilates, but this is a great place to go! read more

I cannot say enough amazing things about Angie's Teacher Training program at Amplified Pilates. The level of dedication and support that Angie and Mandie put into ensuring your success as an instructor is top tier. They put time and effort into knowing your goals as a future instructor, work with you accordingly, help ensure sure you are fully understanding the material, and offer to put in more hours of lessons in if you feel you need more help. In turn, they teach you how to truly be a mindful instructor, who can evaluate and understand their clients' individual needs and train them accordingly. I truly feel that gaining my Comprehensive certification through Amplified has set me up with a foundation to be the best Pilates Instructor possible, and I could not thank them enough for their support, and I would recommend it to anyone who is interested in getting their Pilates Certification. read more

I can't say enough good things about Amplified Pilates. I've been a client since 2016, and while life and scheduling sometimes pulled me away, I've been consistently going for the past two years--and I dread the day that might have to change! The studio itself is beautiful, bright, and incredibly spacious. There's a clear attention to detail in both the design and the energy of the space--it's welcoming the moment you walk in. The instructors are truly exceptional. Not only are they deeply knowledgeable and dedicated to their Pilates practice and education, but they are also warm, approachable, and always happy to answer questions after class. I usually take classes with Angie, Mandie, and Shantala, but I've worked with nearly every instructor at the studio--and I'd jump into any of their classes without hesitation. You can tell how much time and thought goes into each session. No two classes are ever the same, and every workout leaves you feeling stronger, more balanced, and totally energized. The class schedule is fantastic--there are multiple options every day, which makes it easy to stay consistent even with a busy life. Most classes are on the Reformer, but they regularly incorporate Tower, Chair, and Jumpboard, which keeps things fresh and fun. The studio has two distinct spaces: one for group classes with seven Reformers and seven Chairs, plus a full range of props; and another, fully equipped room for private and semi-private sessions, featuring Reformers, Chairs, a Cadillac, Core Aligns, Ladder Barrels, and more. It's incredibly well-equipped, and even when multiple sessions are happening, there's more than enough room to move comfortably. Amplified Pilates has become a central part of my routine, and I genuinely look forward to every visit. If you're considering checking it out--do it! You won't be disappointed. read more

This Pilates studio is truly a gem-- it's clean, well-organized, and designed with privacy and comfort in mind. The space is fully equipped with every piece of Pilates equipment you can imagine. The group classes are amazing: welcoming, never intimidating, and the instructor always checks in with you and helps tailor movements throughout. I've also been doing private sessions with Casey, and working with her has been incredible. She helped me go from a total beginner to feeling confident and strong. Casey is a gifted teacher.... She has a great instinct for what works best for your body and makes every session engaging. I can't recommend her and Amplified enough! read more

Teacher Training was the BEST.DECISION. EVER.  After speaking with a few studios around Chicago who offer teacher training, I landed on Amplified because of the reputation the studio and owner have as the premier pilates destination in the city.I embarked on my teacher training with no background in teaching fitness or movement - I felt like a total fish out of water but fully committed to the process accepting that I was going to initially feel awkward and clueless. THAT IS OK - that is when growth happens! In retrospect, I can now fully appreciate the approach and framework that Amplified and PSC provided. Angie and Mandie taught us to CRITICALLY THINK as instructors so that we can safely, effectively teach to the body in front of us (vs just learning exercise choreography and teaching on auto pilot). Having a full time corporate job, I benefited tremendously from the blended and flexible approach of video/on-demand learning and in-studio immersion weekends so that I could balance learning on MY schedule. Truly, this program is amazing. The way Amplified taught us the exercises/modifications/variations, the practical tips from real life client experience, the observation, practice teaching, the knowledge check-points; it all helped me retain what seemed like an impossible volume of information. Most importantly, the excellence Angie and Mandie expected from us in our program is because they genuinely care about their students and the caliber of instructors they are sending out into the world. read more

Serious Pilates practitioner in many cities here--Amplified Pilates Center is the best studio in Chicago. Angie and her team do a great job integrating both the beginning and advanced student in how they calibrate the class levels and instruction is first-rate. Additionally, studio really addresses the whole client experience from great dressing/bathroom changing areas to a spacious Reformer area. A great place! read more

Amplified Pilates, and specifically, private lessons with April have been one of the best things I've done for myself, certainly, the best investment in my health I've made in years. I was a complete beginner when I started back in January (I couldn't even do an assisted roll up, which was, candidly, embarrassing!). Covid had really taken a toll on my health and I hadn't been particularly strong to begin with. April met me where I was in terms of ability and helped me build strength quickly and methodically. I never felt shamed or intimidated the way I have at other studios. I told April that my goal was to make enough progress in privates that I could feel comfortable joining group class and she absolutely got me there. Now I take 3-4 group classes with her a week and absolutely love them. She's great about teaching to a wide variety of abilities in class as she'll always call out modifications for weaker and stronger students which makes me feel like you can take her classes regardless of your pilates ability/mastery. I think my favorite thing about April as an instructor is that she really nails the right balance of pushing you and praising you. She always pushes me to the edge of my ability but is quick to praise my incremental progress and make me feel great about my performance. One final thing I'll say is that I have learned that not all pilates studios are created equal. Amplified keeps their classes small and has incredibly high standards for their instructors from a training perspective. There are a lot of other franchised pilates (or megaformer studios) around town where you may not learn the proper technique and can easily get hurt. It's worth coming to a place that does it right and Amplified does. PS: Their covid precautions are great and their clientele is super respectful. I've never seen a mask below someone's nose here! read more

I've had the great pleasure of private sessions with Angie at Amplified Pilates for over 10 years. I have watched her evolution from being a pilates instructor at a private health club to starting her own studio and building it to the amazing space it is today. She has been fully invested in my health and has customized my sessions based on what my body needs. I am a runner and I am certain that my running style and endurance has improved greatly because of the exercises she tailors to match my needs. A few years ago, I was diagnosed with Runner's Knee and required months of physical therapy. Angie asked for my physical therapist's phone number and contacted her directly about what she could be doing on her end to help with the therapy. My therapist was amazed that someone would go out of their way to make sure I was getting all of the help I needed. Angie is patient, knowledgeable and passionate about her work. She has very high standards for herself and her business--you can see that from the moment you walk into the studio. I've had sessions with a few of the other instructors and each reflect that same level of knowledge and motivational support. If you're looking for an environment where you will leave feeling stronger, more balanced and more connected to your body, schedule a private session at Amplified Pilates with Angie or join a class with any of the instructors. You won't regret it! read more

I have been going to Amplified for almost a year now, and I cannot recommend this studio more. Given that I was new to Pilates, I started with a private session package to prepare me for group classes. The instructors are incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and approachable. Each class leaves me feeling challenged but not discouraged. A major factor in resigning my lease was the proximity to Amplified (lol). read more

I recently visited Amplified Pilates Center for a group class (and group classes cap out at 5 people which is great) with Kat (who is amazing) and a private with Taylor (who is also fabulous). As someone with serious back injuries (L4/L5 discs) it's critical to practice pilates at a studio with knowledgeable teachers and Amplified Pilates is just that. This studio is incredible. Super knowledgable teachers with great classes and hands on private lessons. They will also modify positions for injuries (like mine) which I so appreciate! I will for sure returning every time I'm back to Chicago as I found my new favorite Chicago Pilates studio. Thanks again Kat and Taylor for the fabulous classes! read more

Have been practicing Pilates for nearly 15 years and am very selective about studios where I practice and the instructors that work with me. The Amplified studio is pristine (both prior to and throughout pandemic). The studio is on the third floor in a beautifully decorated and naturally lit space. There is both an elevator or stair entrance where check-in and/or the waiver process is performed very efficiently. The space itself is comfortable, light, and airy with floor-to-ceiling mirrors to check position and form. Equipment is in top shape, socially distanced, and clean (I'm very picky). Love the new staggered placement of the reformers, during classes the extra space leads to a more comfortable feeling that one is not too close to other classmates. Classes are limited in size to 5 people and ensures individualized attention. Instructors are extremely patient with new and seasoned students. Prior to class, and most importantly, instructors inquire about injuries and how your body feels. Instructors clearly cue positions and can really push you to challenge yourself. Further, modifications are suggested throughout class as your body may need different spring load assistance to ensure good form and optimal benefit. Classes are challenging and fun; and some are tougher than others depending on the instructor. Since studios could resume during the pandemic, have booked private sessions with Kat. We discuss my personal goals and we work towards accomplishing each. She is extremely knowledgeable, has positive energy, and is an excellent instructor. In the past month, she has challenged me every session and I've been able to regain confidence, a ton of strength, and mastered positions that have alluded me for years. When leaving a session (even in this pandemic), I'm happier and feel more aligned and taller with a greater overall well-being. I look forward to my workouts at Amplified and recommend this studio to anyone (beginner or advanced student) for the variety of classes, beautiful space, and qualified instructors. read more

excellent reformer class, atmosphere and customer service- would go again if I lived closer

As a Pilates newbie but no stranger to the impact that How you can control movement within your body can have (I'm a PT;) I just had to write and say what an incredible experience I've had with the group classes at Amplified! As an instructor, you won't find anyone more passionate and knowledgeable than April!! She makes getting up early on a cold Chicago Saturday morning a joy . Highly recommend! read more

I completed my comprehensive Pilates instructor certification at Amplified Pilates and cannot recommend the program enough. Angie and Mandie were so thorough and set us all up to be extremely educated and prepared instructors that are able to address each client's unique individual goals and needs. I just completed the comprehensive Pilates teacher training program at Amplified and I could not have asked for a better experience. The instructors Mandie and Angie lead with such grace, expertise, and professionalism. Amplified has been my happy place for the past 3 years. My place to learn, heal, and get strong. I'm so grateful to have found this studio. I've learned so much since I first stepped foot inside as newbie to Pilates in 2018! I came following a recommendation from a physical therapist, looking for ways to help my generalized pain issues, and Pilates has helped me immensely! I was amazed by how knowledgeable, skilled, caring and patient everyone is. Pilates has completely changed my perspective on exercise and self-care. Angie, the studio's founder, and Kat, Trainer and Group Class Director, inspired me to dive deeper by taking the teacher training course. I'm a nurse, so caring is my job, but this entire experience has helped me reconnect with my passion for helping others. Now I can't wait to teach others how to help themselves and heal through Pilates. read more

I initially started Amplified pilates because I was experiencing serious back pain postpartum. I had seen numerous physical therapists and nothing really helped. After working with Angie for a few month, my low back is pain free and stronger than ever. Most recently, I had meniscus surgery and I am seeing Angie for my rehab. Additionally, my husband had chronic pain in his shoulder from and outstretched fall in soccer. After 5 years, he is finally on the road to recovery from pilates at Amplified. Angie's immense knowledge of anatomy paired with her attention to detail is unparalleled. I am so lucky to have found Amplified and would highly recommend to anyone with an injury or just looking to strengthen their body. read more

Amplified has been a staple in my life for the last 6+ years for all my Pilates needs. I attend both group classes and private sessions at least 2x a week and I can truly say it is the best pilates experience I have ever had. I've been a student of Pilates for 30 years. Amplified is by far the most professional studio with an extremely knowledgable staff of instructors. The owner, Angie runs a tight ship in the best way. I cannot say enough great things about Amplified. For more than 5 years, Amplified has been a huge part of my life and has changed my fitness for the better. I feel stronger and healthier as a result of pilates at Amplified. The group classes are the perfect size and every instructor is fantastic. It's a real workout that moves quickly (which is key for me as no one likes to spend time working out and not get a workout!), but at the same time, the classes are small enough so you receive individualized attention, which is critical to staying injury free. Angie, the owner, is terrific, accessible, and incredibly knowledgeable as are all of the instructors. Amplified is an amazing studio and I am so grateful to have found it! I recently returned to practicing pilates, and after sampling a few studios in Chicago, found one that I absolutely love. Amplified has a beautiful space, small class size, and most importantly - excellent instructors. In the past few months I've taken classes with most of the teachers and though their styles are slightly different, they are all positive, and encouraging, and conscious of their students different skills, needs, and abilities. Kiley teaches a tougher class, but always leaves you feeling stronger than you expected... Mandi and Taylor have more classical classes with lots of bridging and footwork... I have only taken group classes, but the studio hAs private sessions regularly going on in a second studio space. Also, convenience factor, the studio is right below the brown line stop. read more

Undoubtedly the best studio with the most knowledgeable teachers! I've been going here for nearly a decade -- and had to take a break during the pandemic. I'm finally back - post baby - and was so happy to walk in to see everyone's faces but also repair my post baby back issues. They can look at me and see where my alignment is off then instantly tell me what I need to do to readjust & rectify. Every teacher is amazing but the owner (Angie) and Mandy are the two I've known the longest and they are amazing. I feel stronger after every class and each class goes by so quickly. I also love that they customize to each person in class because they know how far to push each person individually. I refuse to go to other studios bc they don't compare (: A+ studio and team! read more

Angie and the team at Amplified Pilates are incredible - the best studio in Chicago by far. I first started working out with Angie in 2016 as part of rehab for a back injury & her approach to pilates/wellness has truly changed my life! A year of private instruction with Angie helped me overcome my persistent back issues & since then, have loved regularly attending reformer classes at the studio 1-2 times a week. Classes are always a highlight of my week. Angie and her full team are so incredibly knowledgeable - even though the classes can be killer, they have such a commitment to monitoring everyone's form that you always feel safe. Plus, the studio is beautiful & clean - truly a haven! Since Covid hit, the Zoom classes have been a complete lifesaver - even though we're virtual, I still get those "shakes" & instructors are as diligent as every about form & modifications. Thank you, Angie & the Amplified family!! read more

It would not be an overstatement to say that Amplified has been my sanctuary for the 4 years that I've lived in Chicago. When I first started, I was a brand new to Pilates, but all of the instructors gave me the guidance and attention I needed to learn a lot and build confidence safely in group classes. Angie's pivot to online classes saved my sanity during the COVID lockdown, and later, private 1:1 sessions with Mandie helped so much with some specific flexibility and strengthening needs that I had. I can't recommend Amplified or its wonderful people highly enough! read more

I found Amplified on Yelp about 2 years ago and I have been impressed with the studio ever since. It's a place where I feel welcome, safe, and excited to go to. Angie, the owner is squared away, knowledgeable and kind. I've taken private sessions with Angie, Kiley, Mandie and Kat. They're all caring, warm, knowledgeable, and lovely women who are serious about Pilates. I recommend them very highly. I've settled into a two day a week routine with Kat and I love it. I've had a few back injuries and she always asks how my body is feeling and is hyper-aware of keeping me safe and building my strength. My back has never felt better and my posture has improved dramatically. Our sessions are very relaxed and we enjoy laughing, but at the same time Kat stays focused and takes her work seriously. We clicked immediately and I love spending the hour with her - she's so encouraging, uplifting and intelligent. Kat is wise beyond her years- she has expansive knowledge of fitness and the human body and I love asking her questions. I feel so lucky I found Amplified and Kat. I could not recommend her and the studio more highly. It's an incredible independent woman owned and led small business that cares about others. read more

One of my fave ClassPass finds. First off, it's a gorgeous brick loft studio, with modern equipment and top instructors. It also boasts the best pilates reformer group class - the perfect mix between classical pilates (which is not much of a workout and more restorative for me) and the latest megaformer craze (pilates on steroids, prob not the best for beginners if you want to live). The classes are limited to five students, so there's lots of personal attention, especially from my faves, Robbie and Kiley. A big plus? I've rocked a number of moves here that I've never seen anywhere else, and after 30+ reformer classes, that is huge to me. Where they really shine is their private sessions. My sis' friend wanted to try pilates for the first time, and my sis, recognizing my ClassPass mastery, said I was the go-to person to ask. Of course, I said a private at Amplified, and then roped my sis in. We got a killer price for a trio with Robbie, which was tailored to our skill level, any specific exercises we wanted to try, musical tastes, etc. It was f'ing top notch. Truly personalized and worth it - since it was just us we didn't need to worry about being a distraction to others (srsly, we swear like sailors #copskids), could work at our own pace, and just feel really, really spoiled. So, treat yourself to a private with Robbie or a group class and you can thank me with some sticky socks later. Note: Don't forget your sticky socks, and they have lockers (yes!) and a shower. read more

Amplified Pilates is the BEST! I have been working with April and Jess for over 1.5 years and I have seen a total transformation in my body. As a person with scoliosis that resulted in a fully fused titanium spine; they have taken the time to understand my unique needs, pushed me where I thought things were not possible and partnered with me along the way. April is genuinely interested in and curious about helping people with pain and physical issues and is constantly researching and learning to provide new and innovate techniques. I have always felt like a strong and coordinated person naturally but frustrated with working through my physical challenges and today I am stronger than ever with significantly less pain and so looking forward to continuing on the journey! Hands down, this is my favorite Pilates studio in Chicago (and I've been to at least 8 that I can think of off the top of my head). Instructors: I've taken classes with 5 different instructors at Amplified and like them all! Each are welcoming and knowledgeable, with different teaching techniques/approaches so you never get bored. Studio: the studio is located in a loft space on the second floor of a walk up. The space itself is divided between an area for group classes and another for privates. It includes lockers (bring a lock, although your stuff is safe without it), and a bathroom with a shower. They keep the studio and equipment maintained and really clean- which is a huge plus for me. Group classes: the teaching style is classical Pilates, which I've come to really like (and look forward to). Some think classical isn't as good of a workout as compared to some of the more suped up versions, but if you pay attention to your body and breathing, it's more of a workout than you initially think (you'll feel it the next day). I've never not been in the mood for a sesh at Amplified. What to bring: grippy socks (they have them for rent/sale if you forget). read more

OBSESSED with this studio. I moved here a year ago from Ohio and worked with lululemon. I've had experience for years with many studios, and this is one of the absolute best. Not only did I feel 100% welcome, but ALL instructors are super caring about how your body feels before and after class and are very helpful in creating modifications for everyone. I visit this studio about 2 times a week and can attest to the changes I've noticed. My core is much stronger & my joints are exercised properly. My body is in much better alignment. Really enjoyed my first private Pilates session with Kylie today. Amplified is a great studio - very clean, plenty of room (but still feels cozy) and the music was great (and not too loud, unlike other studios I've been to!). I've been doing Pilates for almost 9 years. It wasn't until I found Angie and Amplified that I started seeing and feeling results. I have back issues. Angie and her staff not only changed my body, they've taught me how to stand and walk differently. I look better and most importantly I feel better. Angie only hires the top teachers in the field. All the staff is extremely knowledgeable about anatomy. Since each has their own style of teaching, the workouts are always challenging and never boring. There aren't enough stars to rate Amplified. I give it 100 out of 5. It's a diamond in the rough and knowing what I do, I wouldn't go anywhere else! read more

Hands down best best best Pilates studio and instructors ANYWHERE. I trained with Angie back in 2004 and she kicked my butt then and have continued to seek her out any chance I have. I recently moved away from Chicago and have yet to find a studio that comes even CLOSE to the level of expertise and awesomeness that Amplified has. They are sticklers for form and offer suggestions in a way that motivates and inspires you. Rehabbing from an injury? Amplified Pilates. Pregnant? Just had a baby? Amplified Pilates. Overall well-being? Amplified Pilates. Are you a dude? Go to Amplified Pilates. They'll kick your ass.. in a good way. My husband does Pilates and he's so much stronger, has been able to recover from his own lifting workouts better, less prone to injury, etc. I have done all forms of exercise my entire life and when I started doing Pilates on the Reformer regularly (with Angie), it was the first time in my life that I actually noticed a HUGE difference in my body - my posture was amazing, I felt great and looked even better. I seriously could go on and on and on. BEST STUDIO AND INSTRUCTORS you will find ANYWHERE. (I am not affiliated with this studio other than being a paying client for lots and lots of years). read more
