First time here and Alison was great! I was in town for a wedding and hopped into an M3 Fusion class with Alison on Friday morning before the wedding festivities. As a reformer modern Pilates instructor at Jetset, I was pleased to see some of the same moves used in this class that we use at Jetset. Alison clearly explained, each move and body positioning as as well as as offered modifications and amplifications. The music was great and I loved hearing Rihanna in class! The front desk was very helpful with answering any questions I had and ensuring I was ready for class. I would definitely take another class here the next time I'm in town! read more

Studio Lagree - Pilates Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

I took a class at Studio Lagree while visiting Chicago and had a great experience overall! The instructor was super nice, helpful, and did a great job with cueing, which made it easy to follow along, even being new to the studio. The studio itself was nice and well laid out, with plenty of cubbies throughout to store your personal belongings. There were lots of machines in the class, but they were spaced out well, so you still had plenty of room around you and didn't feel cramped. I do this style of Pilates regularly at home, so I'm pretty familiar with the workouts. My only real criticism is the machines themselves. The quality didn't feel quite as nice as what I'm used to, but they still did the job, and I was able to get a good workout in. Overall, it was a great option while traveling, and I'd happily recommend it if you're looking for a Lagree-style workout in Chicago! read more

My SIL and I stopped by for a 9:30 sesh with Danny! Let me tell you that he's freaking awesome!!! Definitely upbeat and friendly. He made class so much fun even tho I won't lie...that shit ain't easy LOL. Thanks Danny!!!! read more

The staff here is so kind! This was not my first Lagree class but this was my first time here. They still made sure I was comfortable on the Reformer. The instructor also made sure to take time and fix technique when necessary and was encouraging! A great experience and super easy to book if you just want to drop in. read more

Clean and spacious studio and well kept equipments. The class was difficult for me because I'm a beginner but the burn afterwards, sore but amazing. The instructor was very clear on how to use the equipment and I felt confident on getting to know how it worked. Definitely recommend this studio. read more

I would give this 0 stars is possible. Horrible policy for excluding new students who arrive outside of the 15 min early window and then was told to email the manager to chase down a refund. read more

This was my 2nd lagree class. The studio is clean and beautiful.Steph was our instructor and she was amazing... she gave very concise and clear instruction, always helpful with alignment and modification. I was nervous to take this class and so happy I didn't cancel. She seemed to Know what my body needed. I am incredibly sore today!! Thank you Steph. read more

Horrible policy for people who come less than 15 minutes before the class. Over $20 class, got there ahead of time but was turned away with zero flexibility to change to a different time or anything from the business. read more

Awesome workouts and staff - everyone remembers your name and is super welcoming. Special mention for Danny's classes (the best) and Zarai and Becca at the front desk are so sweet read more

WORST experience ever. Didn't even get to take the class because the front desk woman refused services because we were 8 minutes before the arrival time and not 10. Granted if that's their rule but she was rude. Both my friend and I explained have taken TONS of reformer classes which we couldn't even have the chance to explain. She has us cancel in front of the whole crowd of people and incur a 30$ cancelation free. As she friendly said hi to all the people behind us and waived us off. On a human level it was so rude and I won't be returning. Also not a community I would want to be apart of. Would rate 0 if I could read more

Likes - challenging full body workout - instructors wear a mic so you can hear them Dislikes - doesn't look like there's a locker room - they move pretty fast so it can be hard to keep up if you're new - random people can stare into the studio and watch you work out Overall: I had never tried pilates machines before. I came twice via classpass, enjoyed the experience, and would consider coming back. TIP: wear grippy socks and come early on your first class so they can walk you through some basics read more

I love Lagree just wish I could get there more often. I like how non-clique-y this place it. Awesome instructors and pace of class... they focused on quality vs. quantity of movement. Good stuff! read more

Because I was in Chicago again for visiting people and completing some work, I still need to keep a good balance with my workout routine. Now, Chicago has a great running culture that I participate in daily when I am there, but I decided to try out a couple of workout studios. I found this studio via the official Lagree Pilates website. I have been doing pilates since 2010 but since about 2015 I moved on to commit myself to Lagree Pilates. There is no other workout that has kept me addicted to it's challenges and constant physical improvement. I really feel that Lagree Pilates has improved my marathon times as well. Regardless if you're new or a veteran to Lagree, this studio is a central location in the city. The studio is spotless. I wish I the studio had more light, but that could be only because I am used to my usual Lagree studio in Southern California next to the beach. A big positive about this studio is that the megaformers are newer and therefore, run more smoothly than my usual studio. The floors are well swept and clean -- important because this workout is shoes off. The A/C was just right enough to break a sweat due to the challenging workout. Lastly, I really enjoyed the welcoming customer service. There was also no pressure or upselling involved during my visit. I will definitely return on my next trip back to Chicago. read more

I came here for the first time yesterday for the M3 Fusion class. Prior to this visit I had not taken any classes on the megaformer although I have taken several traditional Pilates classes (mat-based and reformer). I wouldn't really characterize this class as Pilates, more so straight-up megaformer. Everyone at the studio was friendly and upbeat, and I found it easy to get situated before the class started. The instructor (I believe her name was Jill) was a substitute but seemed to have an excellent command of the room and was knowledgeable about the workout. I was also fortunate in that there was an instructor and teacher-in-training participating in that day's class...I found myself looking over several times to see what they were doing so that I could adjust my form accordingly. I didn't feel super sore after this workout compared to traditional equipment Pilates or even an especially tough Barre session. Perhaps this was because I spent more time than usual looking around the room to see what the other, more expert students were doing and to transition into the various exercises. Looking at the schedule it appears that all of the classes are the same M3 Fusion class that I took, just different times/instructors. It would be nice to have a foundation/beginner option. In the back of my mind I feel that I might have done better to have taken a private session before jumping into a group class. Overall I am glad that I satisfied my curiosity about this Studio and got a balanced, engaging workout in the bargain. read more

The most unprofessional studio I have ever been to. I saw them not let two people in for not having grip socks all in an attempt to sell them $20 socks. Additionally, their method does use not proper Pilates technique and can easily lead to injury. There are many more professional studios in the area. read more

Very welcoming, great staff and plenty of parking (street, pay to park). I am new to pilates and arrived at the studio about 15 minutes prior and was walked through on how to use the machine. They do recommend some grippy socks which they have on site for purchase. I did purchase some and found it very helpful with some of the movements. I was not anticipating such a tough workout but man, you really get into some difficult movements. I was pleasantly surprised with the class. I used ClassPass to explore fitness studios and this one was by far my favorite for Pilates (I tried 3 other studios in the process). The equipment is very clean, up to date and simple with learning how to use them. The instructors are very helpful and will go around the room to assist anyone who is having some difficulty. Also for some of the classes, at the end, the instructor will go around the room with some essential oils to help calm down and stretch out. read more

Studio Lagree is by far the best Pilates workout in Chicago! Keelin is my favorite instructor, and whenever I've branched out, I've regretted it. Don't get me wrong, it seems like no matter what instructor I have I wake up incredibly sore the next morning. But the flow of Keelin's classes is just the best. She is so clear with her instructions, and her upbeat motivation makes the class fly by. As with most Pilates classes, this isn't a high calorie burning workout. But it is so great for legs and abs! After my very first class here, I struggled to walk the next few days -- my legs were sore in places I never knew possible! And now after consistently coming here once or twice a month for the past year, I'm STILL sore after each class. I know that I've gotten stronger and more confident with the moves, but Studio Lagree is just consistently an amazing workout that you will feel for days afterwards in the most rewarding way! read more

Really cool workout. Was expecting it to be more like Pilates since ClassPass puts it in that category but it's really it's own unique thing. I think of this as more a toning/muscle work class and less Pilates. Great workout overall! read more

Love studio lagree and it's instructors just not a fan of this location. The studio is on the ground floor of a moderately busy street where everyone walking by can watch. One of my classes there was a man who stopped and hung out outside the window for a couple minutes watching all of the women. They had an instructor stand and try to block him which is appreciated but I think it would be best to black out the windows. read more

I LOVE studio Lagree. I'm a big pilates fan, and just recently got into reformer pilates about a year ago. I discovered Studio Lagree through class pass, and fell in love with their super challenging and rewarding classes. The megaformer is just what the name would suggest, like a reformer on steroids. There's little to no rest during the class which really pushes your muscles to their limits to build strength and endurance. This class feels a lot like a pilates class, and just pushes you even further. I'm usually sore for days after! If you're looking for a great strength and full-body workout, definitely give Studio Lagree a shot. read more

I just started again doing a heated yoga sculpt class a couple times a week its a terrific workout but this is 1/2 block from my house. I took my 1st class Sunday & was shocked at how hard it was. The instructor helped me a lot & another instructor was taking a class & she hopped off the machine to help me (with form) too. When I left several of my muscles were involuntarily quivering from the work out. I was pretty shocked because I'm not new to work outs. I am thinking of purchasing a package to take 1 class every week or two @ Studio L'Agree because it worked different muscles or the same in a different way. read more

I think Studio Lagree's workout is awesome! I use to go to SLT in New York (which is incredible) and Studio Lagree is the closest to their workouts. I give them two stars, I bought a class on Monday morning so excited to go to a class that afternoon. I get to the River North class about 15 minutes early and learned I accidentally somehow bought the class for their Lincoln Park location. The girls were nice but basically were like there's nothing we can do... I tried to call Lincoln Park location to let them know what happened and I would be a few minutes late (this was 4:30P... right on the cusp of Chicago traffic) No one answered and I didn't get there in time. So...Studio Lagree kept my 35 dollars!? This was painful. No reimbursement, no basic human understanding, just keeping peoples money because? read more

This studio is immaculate and the classes are a really great workout. The music is upbeat and the instructors are great. The machines are super awesome and relatively simple to use. If it's your first class definitely make sure to let the instructor know so they can show you how to use the machine. You won't leave the class drenched in sweat but you will use muscles you didn't even know you had! read more

Get that ass on the Megaformer bandwagon! Seriously, my abs have never looked better. Anyways, this is the brand new River North sister of the other two Studio Lagree studios. For those who don't know, a Megaformer is pretty much a pilates reformer on steroids. So, if you feel like you're not getting enough of a workout in your pilates class and would like to bump it up a notch, this place is perfect for you. The Megaformer offers a numbered, much larger carriage, and additional padded surfaces at both ends. There's also a number of added handles on the ends opening up a ton of exercise options. I took class with Katie Sido, and she does not phone it in. She spent the entire class walking around, ensuring everyone had proper form, and offering modifications. I wasn't bored, and the resistance and exercise intervals were perfect. I was wiped out afterwards, but I never felt like there were too many springs on - although at one point I took a spring off during arms, and Katie was right there making sure I was ok, never pressuring me to push through it. I appreciated that, because with this machine I feel like it's really easy for instructors to push you to go too heavy, compromising form, risking injury, or literally, just increasing your chances of falling the fuck off. Seriously, if you want those summer abs, get your ass there. Now. read more

Do not come here. I've been a loyal Lagree member in LA and I am here visiting. I signed up for a class, but they didn't tell me I'd need to bring my own grip socks (I am traveling). All studios I have been to in all cities have loaner socks, give you a pair of socks for your first class or offer a discount on socks if there are no other alternatives. They didn't offer any of that. I got a refund for my class. There are so many other lagree studios, no need to go to a place with such little accommodation for new clients to their studio. My studio in LA would Never!!!! Every in LA is so welcoming and friendly at my studio. Skip this place! Can't say it enough how annoying it was read more

As someone who has never done Pilates before, I was a little nervous and unsure where to start. I initially found Studio Lagree on ClassPass and figured I'd give it a shot. I've now been to their Old Town and River North location and I'm hooked. The instructors at both locations are super nice and helpful and made something that I thought was going to be super intimidating so not. They offer a New Client 10-Pack of classes for a discounted rate, cheaper than what you can get from ClassPass, so I've now switched over from ClassPass to their studio. Can't wait to go back! read more

Great workout, friendly staff. I didn't feel lost at all during my first class. If I lived closer I would definitely return.

My wife signed us up for my first class on a Friday at 6:30pm with Amy. My impressions: - the desk girl was particularly helpful - the Megaformer was a cool machine and offered a great workout of many different muscles - they jump right into the workout, so arrive early to get a warmup in. My abs were burning within the first minute - I sweat alot, and was shakey afterwards, indicating it was a good workout good experience! read more

This class is no joke! I come here through ClassPass and I use two sessions each month here! Their classes are really challenging with a lot of reps per move! I'm definitely sore after each class. The difficulty level is very instructor dependent. Out of the many classes I've been to, Antonia's class was THE HARDEST! She reallllllly pushes us and I could barely make it through half the class and was sore for DAYYYS. I highly recommend this studio to all pilates reformer lovers! Be prepared to work yourself! read more

The Megareformer is serious-- get up on it! I just took a class taught by Katie Sido, it was INTENSE! I checked in and the front desk girl was a doll, couldn't have been more helpful. I filled out the waiver and chatted for a few minutes. It being my 1st time on this giant machine I much appreciated the step by step guidance and attention from the instructor. Katie acquainted me with the machine, where the numbers are, what the cords do, how the springs work, everything. Did I mention how hard this class is? Every movement was a challenge, every movement required focus. The class went by quickly, the music was excellent. It's only been 1/2 an hour since I completed the class and I can already feel a burn in my abs. I will buy the socks next time, I think they will help me stay firmly attached to the machine and I will definitely come back-- they have a new client package, something like 10 classes for $190.00. I'm in! Can't wait to add Studio Lagree to my rotation of Barry's and FlyWheel. read more

I really love this place. Particularly for core and glute work. I normally lift weights, but I go to Lagree about 2x a month for a change of pace. If you want to know where your core is and have your glutes sore, this is the place for sure. read more

I have not been this sore in a long time, cannot wait to get stronger and better on the megaformer. Sophie was awesome, great instructions made it easy to follow. Looking forward to my next visit! read more

This is a great Lagree studio - beautiful space and conveniently located downtown. Great instructors also!

I've always wanted to try a Pilates Reformer class and came to Studio Lagree via a recommendation from a colleague. I can't recommend the studio enough! Their 10 class intro package is a great value for a boutique gym in the neighborhood. The classes are always challenging and take some practice for newbies though I became much more comfortable after a few visits. All of the instructors have been encouraging and demonstrate/explain the movements well, however Erin Corcoran goes above and beyond! She knew I was moving out of state so she changed the choreography for the class so it wouldn't be a repeat of a previous class. That care and thoughtfulness goes a long way. I will definitely be back whenever I'm in town. Thanks! read more

I loved the class! Felt sore in all the right places the following day. Colleen was great at providing personalized feedback to make sure I was doing everything correctly. Definitely recommend for a phenomenal full body workout! read more
