    Macarons

2nd visit celebrating the grand opening. Tried a delicious sandwich plus a 12 pack of macarons to go. Scrumptious!

We placed a cupcake order with Tandi's to pick up on Sunday for a relatives birthday celebration. Her customer service was above and beyond! She could not of been any nicer. We are from out of town but will definitely try the macaroons the next time we're in Raleigh. Clayton

Burnt, old, uneven, barely filling macarons.

Worst macarons I've ever had. Wasted $60. Visited the mall location for my birthday , and the macarons looked nothing like the display, because they were that old. Macarons were burnt, old, hollow, uneven, and some of them were so hard; you couldn't bite into them. See photo; macarons shouldn't be brown, or so hard you can't bite into them. They were so old that all the flavors tasted the same; just almond. $60 in the trash. Also, they didn't have bags, so I had to carry 4 boxes around in an old shipping bag from an Amazon box behind the counter. I reached out to the company, and saw the owner read my messages months ago, and didn't bother to respond.

The macarons at amitie are available in a wide variety of flavors to suit any palette and make for the perfect sweet treat while last minute shopping for Christmas gifts. My favorite flavors were: - -the cinnamon brown butter: reminded me of a fresh cinnamon bun. I'll be picking up a 6ct box of this flavor next time. - -cookies and cream: you could tell that the creamy filling was made with bits of chocolate cookie pieces - -pumpkin spice: call me "basic" but I still love pumpkin spice lattes, pastries, and beers even in December. The cinnamon and nutmeg didn't overpower the pumpkin flavor which was a win in my book Check out amitie (ig @amitie_macaron) during your next visit to Crabtree Valley Mall

While they were good, one of the salted caramels was very salty and the rest were overly sweet for us (compared to other macarons we have had). There was no social distancing enforced and we did the best we could considering the location. The employee was wearing a mask and gloves, however the gloves were not changed out between handling the macarons and the point of service. Overall it was just an okay experience and probably wouldn't return to this location but might try the location at Morgan Street Food Hall.

Walking in, it seemed kind of small, and we figured we'd have a few options. But looks were deceiving, with only a small frontage on the street, it's very deep, housing easily 20 or more restaurants. They offered the best variety of food ethnicities I've ever seen in one place. Restaurant options offered included a pizza shop, a deli, Italian, Mediterranean, Chinese, Japanese, Indian, Mexican, burgers, a southern kitchen, a restaurant of just French fry options, and so much more. Wanting something sweet, they had ice cream, dessert crepe.....SO MANY OPTIONS. The variety was fantastic, and there was plenty of seating, both inside, and out. Staff were regularly, cleaning tables as people left, and bathrooms were well maintained.....the only downside, is you've got to decide where you're going to eat. I'd 100% return to this spot, such great variety, reasonable pricing and convenience.

According to Visit Raleigh, it occupies a repurposed, approximately 22,000-square-foot warehouse that was retrofitted into a communal food hall concept and opened in 2018. I used to work at One Glenwood and frequented it often. I returned again in late December to try Curry in a Hurry, one of the many vendors operating in the hall. The food hall features more than 20 distinct culinary concepts, ranging from casual eats to dessert vendors. Full-service kitchens, snack stalls, and beverage counters all operate under one roof, offering plenty of variety for nearly any craving. Some of the vendors I've ordered from include: Curry in a Hurry - Indian cuisine with bold, flavorful curries. The Chicken Kati Roll is Indian street food at its finest. Opa! - A little taste of Greece. My favorite order is the spanakopita (spinach pastry platter) paired with a Greek salad. Gym Tacos - Vibrant flavors inspired by Mexican street food. Iyla's Southern Kitchen - Authentic Southern comfort food. The Chicken and Waffles sandwich is especially good. In addition, there are many other stalls offering burgers, tacos, sushi burritos, other Mediterranean dishes, seafood, empanadas, desserts, and more. Beyond food, the hall includes two notable bars: The Arbor, which serves beer, wine, and cocktails, and Aunty Betty's, a cozy, gin-focused bar that adds to the venue's nightlife appeal. Morgan Street Food Hall is family-friendly, chic, and dynamic. With varied menus and multiple seating formats, it attracts a broad mix of locals, visitors, nearby office workers, and families. Inside, communal picnic-style tables encourage a lively, social atmosphere, while a large outdoor patio with string lighting creates a vibrant setting. There are also lounge areas indoors that feel more like a relaxed living room. The space works well for groups, families, date nights, casual meetups, and even takeout. It does get very crowded during peak periods, so it's best to plan ahead if you want to secure seating. When visiting with a group, you may need to stagger food orders to hold a spot. The location is within walking distance of downtown offices, residential developments, and other nightlife and dining venues, which helps explain its popularity. When I worked at One Glenwood, it was an easy walk. If you're not within walking distance, parking can be the main drawback. Street parking nearby is reasonably priced if you can find it, while surrounding lots tend to be more expensive. Even though I no longer work nearby, I still enjoy visiting Morgan Street Food Hall--even when it means paying for parking.

The atmosphere is calm and welcoming, and the staff was pleasant from the moment we walked in. Even during breakfast hours, there wasn't a long wait. The shop itself is beautiful. There's an antique cash register near the counter that adds so much character, and I love that the menus are handwritten. Their merchandise is really cute, and they also make gourmet marshmallows. Everything in the case looks and tastes gourmet and made from scratch. They even offer wedding cakes. My total for breakfast for myself and coworker came to $18, which I found very reasonable. The iced Americano was strong in the best way. You can actually taste the espresso, and it didn't taste watered down or cheap at all. The only downside is that they don't serve whipped cream for iced coffee. The almond croissant was perfect. Sweet and buttery on the inside, crunchy on the outside with that lightly crisp, sugary layer that gives i texture. It was balanced and done just right. Overall, a solid breakfast spot with quality pastries and great pricing. I'd definitely stop in again.
